Manic Monday Updates: New Series, New Books, and New Covers

Happy Monday!! I've been a busy little bee this week. I'm finally done with the day job for a bit, so that means more writing!
Tomorrow,  A Night Away, comes out! Squee!! I'm excited about this book and yet scared to death. Normal for me right? Its a novella in the Redwood Pack world about Mel and Kade again. I'm having a blog party with Lia Davis and Marie Harte tomorrow, so be sure to stop by!
Since I last spoke to you, I've also revealed a new series, Holiday, Montana. Its a new series set in that small Montana town where the myths of our childhood might not be as imaginary as we think. The first book will be out in October and all five will be out within the year. They're books around 20k in length, so it will be something nice to read before a holiday! *grins*
I have a cover coming soon for Charmed Spirits. I've seen the mock up and OMG guys. *grins*
Dust of My Wings is in the long stretch of its draft. I don't have my word count updated on the right because its distracting me LOL. But I'm getting there!
I'm working hard and now will have more time to write, which is always something I love.
Thanks so much for everything y'all and be sure to stop by  Lacey Wolfe's

A Night Away - Six Sentence Sunday #38

From A Night Away, A Redwood Pack Novella, Out Tuesday
Kade woke up with a soft bottom pressed against his erection, and he closed his eyes again, sinking into his bliss. They’d made love two more times in the night. He felt sated, content, and oddly rested.Though they hadn’t slept too much, it was as if the idea of peace made him peaceful. What a novel concept.Mel moaned in her sleep and shifted so his cock lay nestled in the crease of her ass.

Thanks so much for coming!!!! Love y'all!

A New Series: Holiday, Montana

So you all know I've been super busy, right? LOL. Well, not only am I doing ANOTHER sekrit project that I will announce soon, but I'm here to announce a brand new 5-book series. Each book will be around 25k long and will be set in the same fictional town, Holiday, Montana. The unofficial leaders of the town come from the Cooper family, where there are five sexy brothers who are in need of something they didn't know the missed.I'm so freaking excited about this series y'all. The memories that warmed our hearts are nothing but a figment of our imaginations. At least that's what we're told...Come on over to Holiday, Montana, where the characters we grew to love may not be as imaginary as we think. And remember, even those of myth need to find their true love.Coming this FallReading OrderCharmed SpiritsSanta's ExecutiveAnna's ArrowHer Lucky LoveDreams of Ivory

Fresh Friday Reads

Its that time again! Here are my top picks of the week, books I have bought and/or read! What have you read this week?

Under a Vampire Moon - Lynsay Sands

So I was sooo worried about this book. LOL. I'm in LOVE LOVE LOVE with Christian. For YEARS, I tell you. But Lynsay did not disappoint. This was a fabulous addition to the series. Funny, sweet, sexy, and just a bit of everything amazing. If you haven't started the Argeneau series, you're missing something!

Christian Notte's story, the sixteenth book in the Argeneau series is set on an island paradise called St. Lucia. After a bad relationship and an even worse divorce, Carolyn decides to go on a long overdue and much needed vacation with the 'girls'. Only the rest of the vacationers didn't get the memo. Around every corner there seems to be another couple celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary and the few single men she does see are far too young to even consider, including an irresistibly attractive rock violinist she meets. It's really too bad he's so young but in the end it doesn't matter because according to his cousin, Giacinta, women in general aren't Christian's type. But there's a catch, Christian needs Carolyn's help. He needs her to be his beard (to play the part of his fake girlfriend) for the week to appease his 'machismo' family. Carolyn just can't seem to say No and decides to help Gia's cousin. The only problem is that being around Christian and acting like they are a loving couple is wreaking havoc on her emotions. Carolyn's thoughts keep drifting back to places they shouldn't, like kissing his full lips or feeling his broad shoulders under her fingertips... good lord, she's in trouble.

Grimm Tidings - Shiloh Walker

I love fairy tales and Shiloh Walker. This series came out long before Once Upon a Time and Grimm came on TV and I'm so happy that people may get a chance to read Shiloh because of fairy tales. This was a deeply sexy, mysterious, and all-around great book. I always love trying to figure out who the characters represent. Shhh no spoilers!

Grimm’s Circle, Book 6

In his mortal life, the only thing Jacob liked better than money was a good brawl—until he stuck his fist into the wrong fight, and a demon sent him spinning into a new life as a Grimm.

Now, a hundred years later, he’s been called to protect someone too much like himself. A woman who could let the chains of her past drag her down unless she learns to let go. A woman who fights like there’s no tomorrow, because she clearly doesn’t want a tomorrow.

Celine thought her second chance at life would be an opportunity to fix some of her worst mistakes, to set things straight. She couldn’t have been more wrong. She’s trapped by the past and her regrets, and nothing—not even her darkly sexy new trainer, Jacob—has a blade sharp enough to cut her loose.

Chains are Jacob's specialty, but his help comes with a price. To her, the cost is her heart. To Jacob…something much more.

Product Warnings
Contains a heroine with enough fight in her to put the 300 to shame. And a hero who knows how to take a punch.

No Longer a Gentleman - Mary Jo Putney

Wow. Just wow. I think I sobbed for this hero more than most. Just. Wow. This is the fourth book in the series and the best of the bunch. Just...wow.

Grey Sommers, Lord Wyndham, never met a predicament he couldn’t charm his way out of. Then a tryst with a government official’s wife during a bit of casual espionage in France condemns him to a decade in a dungeon, leaving him a shadow of his former self. Yet his greatest challenge may be the enigmatic spy sent to free his body—the only woman who might heal his soul.
Cassie Fox lost everything in the chaos of revolution, leaving only a determination to help destroy Napoleon’s empire through her perilous calling. Rescuing Grey is merely one more mission. She hadn’t counted on a man with the stark beauty of a ravaged angel, whose desperate courage and vulnerability thaw her frozen heart. But a spy and a lord are divided by an impassable gulf even if they manage to survive one last, terrifying mission…

On the Prowl - Christine Warren

So I've read each book in this series and loved most of them. This one was no exception! Because of the change in publishers, we're reading some of these out of order in the timeline, but Christine's website has a clear cut reading order to help us out LOL. And I want Nic. Just saying.

Most girls would throw a fit if their parents tried to set up an arranged marriage for them. It’s so outrageously old-fashioned—even for a Tiguri family, members of a fierce race of shapeshifting weretigers. But Saskia isn’t getting her claws out just yet. She’ll go through with this marriage to help unite two powerful families—and because her husband-to-be Nicolas Preda is the sexiest, hunkiest, and only man she’s ever wanted…

Of course, marrying an alpha male like Nic comes with its share of danger. As leader of his Streak and head of a global corporation, Nic and his new fiancée must take their places in the jungles of Manhattan—and the local Others seem to have a strict “no pets” policy. In fact, the Council seems to think the Tiguri are at the root of all their problems, including an attempt on the life of its leader. If Nic hopes to protect his name and his mate, it’s hunt or be hunted—and he can’t do it alone. But if anyone can bring out the beast in him, it’s the sexy, savage tigress he’s sworn to love…

Somebody to Love - Kristan Higgins

Another contemporary book from Ms. Higgins. I enjoy her work, though sometimes I want to jump in the pages and scream at the characters. TALK TO EACH OTHER!! But it does lead to some fabulous plot development, so I'll let it slide LOL

After her father loses the family fortune in an insider-trading scheme, single mom Parker Welles is faced with some hard decisions. First order of business: go to Gideon's Cove, Maine, to sell the only thing she now owns—a decrepit house in need of some serious flipping. When her father's wingman, James Cahill, asks to go with her, she's not thrilled -- …even if he is fairly gorgeous and knows his way around a toolbox.

Having to fend for herself financially for the first time in her life, Parker signs on as a florist's assistant and starts to find out who she really is. Maybe James isn't the glib lawyer she always thought he was. And maybe the house isn't the only thing that needs a little TLC….

Sunrise Point - Robyn Carr

I've been waiting for this couple and I'm soooo happy with what Robyn did with it. You really need to read the series in order to get the taste of the whole town, but it can be read as a stand alone. Its a sweet book with a touch of spice. Something to read in the sunlight. Love it.

Tom Cavanaugh may think he wants a traditional woman, but in Virgin River, the greatest tradition is falling in love unexpectedly....

Former Marine Tom Cavanaugh’s come home to Virgin River, ready to take over his family’s apple orchard and settle down. He knows just what the perfect woman will be like: sweet, decent, maybe a little naive. The marrying kind.

Nothing like Nora Crane. So why can’t he keep his eyes off the striking single mother?

Nora may not have a formal education, but she graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks. She’s been through tough times and she’ll do whatever it takes to support her family, including helping with harvest time at the Cavanaugh’s orchard. She’s always kept a single-minded focus on staying afloat...but suddenly her thoughts keep drifting back to rugged, opinionated Tom Cavanaugh.

Both Nora and Tom have their own ideas of what family means. But they’re about to prove each other completely wrong...

Wicked Road to Hell - Juliana Stone

I sobbed when I read about them in the previous book. And I didn't stop now. Just...yeah. Read this series LOL

With the legions of the underworld gathering and chaos close at hand, Sorcerer Declan O’Hara’s deadly skills will be tested. But nothing will sway him from his duty, not even her…

Rescued from eternal darkness, vampire Ana DeLacrux owes her life to a mysterious stranger who asks for only one thing—her absolute allegiance. She serves this master without question until Declan, the one man who can make her forget her vow, returns. His magic is stronger, darker…more compelling than ever. His blood awakens a hunger she must resist, or risk deadly consequences.

As Ana and Declan join forces, the streets of New Orleans become a dangerous place for both humans and the otherworld. And the most dangerous place of all is a road Declan’s traveled before…the wicked road to hell.

Her Eternal Warrior - Marissa Chenery

A newer series from Marissa. Sexy and imaginative. Very Ms. Chenery.

Protecting mortals from the evil preying upon them is Tor’s number-one job. His dying pledge to serve the Egyptian god Anubis gave him immortality and a life of solitude as a jackal shifter—for thousands of years. But all that changes when he saves a young woman from being attacked. The moment he sees her face his blood—and his cock—stirs. For the first time ever he is reluctant to wipe himself from a victim’s mind. She becomes the center of his existence, and nothing but total possession will do.Kenna can’t believe her luck when the sexy-as-hell stranger approaches the Luxor Hotel reception desk and asks her out. There’s something familiar about him, but she just can’t place it. She falls hard and fast, and scorching sex is just the icing on the cake. Tor’s guarded secret could change everything, however. Sure, she was open to settling down, but life with Tor would put a whole new meaning on the word forever.

Adorable hockey players and why Angela Stone chooses to write about them.

Adorable hockey players and why I choose to write about them.
A big thank you to Carrie Ann for letting me sneak into her blog to talk about hockey players. We all love hockey players, some more than others. As the hockey playoffs are hitting full swing I’m thrilled to announce my new short story called “Goalie Interference”
The blurb and excerpt are below!
A lot of people ask me why I write about hockey players. The answer, for me, is very simple. They’re easy. As a Canadian I grew up with the sport, I’ve lived and breathed it since I was a baby. I remember Saturday nights sitting on my Dad’s knee cheering for the Habs, and asking questions.  As I got older I was able to play hockey, it became part of my soul. For me hockey was my safe zone, when the rest of the world was crashing in on me I could turn to hockey and for a while it would all be okay.
I’ve been writing hockey fiction since I was about 15. Don’t worry, I won’t show you my horrible stumbling attempts where I blindly felt my way forward in the world of writing. I will tell you that the community I found grabbed me and nurtured me. I learned my craft by writing with an amazing group of people, many of whom I’m still friends with today,
When Emily Cale first approached me with the idea of not only writing a story about Hockey Players, but writing a trilogy about them I jumped on the chance. It’s the first time I’ve written about hockey players in a number of years, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
Goalie interference is the first book in the Hat Trick Trilogy, part of Decedent Publishing’s 1Nigh Stand series. The second book called “Power Play” is a M/F/M ménage and the third book is called “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” is M/M. There is also a bonus chapter in Unsportsmanlike Conduct that gives us a happy ending, not only to the characters you meet in that book, but also the others in the trilogy, include Scott and Tarah.
I hope everyone falls in love with our characters as much as Emily and I have. Since the Habs failed to make the playoffs this year I’m going to be cheering for the boys on the Montreal Magic team to make it all the way!
Angela
Author Bio: Angela, is a twenty-something Registered Nurse and writer living and working in central Canada. She is a proud Canadian and an even prouder girl from back east. She thoroughly enjoys writing novels featuring character that live in or are from the Maritimes. Angela freely admits to living at starbucks when writing as well as being a bit of a social hermit, when she isn’t busy looking for Mr. Right (or hey even Mr. Wrong) she is working hard on advocating for persons with disabilities.Author Links:

Blurb:Hockey goalie Tarah 'TJ' Elliot is too busy stopping pucks to go looking for love. When her friend Natalie sets her up through Madame Eve's 1 Night Stand service, she grudgingly agrees to go. Her ultimate fantasy comes true when Scott Alarid, one of the top scorers in the league, shows up at her hotel room. Hockey player TJ can't possibly spend a night with him, but Tarah certainly can.

Scott's tired of dealing with women who only like him for his all-star status. After his teammates arrange a date for him using the 1NS website, he's delighted to find a woman who doesn't know a thing about the sport. But, will the truth force them to put their relationship on ice?
Excerpt:
Fuck. What the hell was Scott Alarid doing there? “Hi,” she said, her voice wavering. You sound like a teenager at a boy band concert. Pull it together.“Hello.”After three years playing in the ECPHL, she should have been over her nervousness when it came to big time hockey players, but her knees still went weak when she encountered any of the more famous guys. He counted as a star. Super star, actually. Lead scorer, team captain, and potential to end up in the big leagues. She’d wanted to meet him for years. Sure, she’d seen him on the ice during games, but from a distance, and she’d never spoken to him. Of course, he had the worst timing in the world. Her date would be here any minute and she’d have to send him away.Wait. Natalie was the only one who knew her plans, her friend would never tell anyone about the arrangements for the evening. “What are you doing here?”“Isn’t this room 1018?” He glanced at the number plate on the door and frowned.“Yes.” That figured. He didn’t know whose room he’d knocked on. The man probably got confused on his way to meet one of his friends. For a second, she’d thought he might be the guy she’d been set up with. Yeah, because she always got that lucky.“Then I guess I’m your date for the night.”

My BFF Lia Davis's Debut Novel and a Character Interview!

I have Lia Davis here to interview Emalee Black, her heroine of Ravished Before Sunrise.
Lia: Thanks so much, Carrie Ann, for having Ema and me over today. We are both excited about the release of Ravished Before Sunrise in May.
Before I start my interview with Ema, I want to tell you a little about Ravished Before Sunrise. It is one the latest installments of Decadent Publishing’s multi-author 1Night Stand series.  I am proud and excited to be a part of this series.  If you have never heard about it go check out the blog: http://decadent1nightstand.blogspot.com.
RBS is my first paranormal erotic and I had a lot of fun writing it. I hope the readers enjoy it as much I have writing it.
Here’s the blurb:

Blurb: Born with the unusual ability to see what truly lies in the shadows, Emalee Black is stuck between two worlds, the paranormal and the human. Neither one accepts or understands her and she's forced to live a quiet, boring life in hiding. When her best friend mentions 1Night Stand dating service, Ema chooses a role-playing adventure straight out of her romantic fantasies. She's to hunt her very own vampire and have her wicked way him.
Vampire Darian Wyman is surprised when his daughter signs him up for a one-night stand with an exclusive matching agency. At first he's appalled by the idea, but as he reads the details of the date he becomes intrigued. For one night he will get away from the life he has long grown tired of to be hunted and captured by a would-be huntress. But he has plans of his own for his little vixen.
However, when Darian discovers the truth about Ema's inhuman abilities, the date could end before it gets started.

Lia: Hello, Ema. Thanks for pulling herself away from that sexy vamp of yours and agreeing to be interviewed.
Ema: *she blushes* You’re welcome. I’m happy to be here.
Lia: What made you decide to use Madame Eve’s elite dating service?
Ema: Well…I’m different from others. Anyway, I finally stopped trying to normal and moved to the local coven where my best friend lives after high school. I didn’t date much, because…well humans think I’m weird. *she leans in and whispers* I can see the paranormal. Not just ghost and stuff, but I can see a non-human’s otherworldly aura.
Anyway, Beth, my BFF, suggested 1Night Stand and I figured it couldn’t hurt. Plus the promise to live out a fantasy for one night is very tempting.

Lia:  That does sound exciting. Tell us about your date. What was your first impression of him?
Ema: *she smiles shyly* I was very surprised that Darian was a real vampire. I knew instantly what he was. His dark hair framed his handsome face, ice blue eyes reflected in the moonlight, and those lips….
I’m sorry, what was the question?
Lia: *laughs* It’s okay, we get the picture. What is your favorite part of Darian?
Ema: *the blush returns* His fangs.
Lia: Ah, yes. I can see where they could be a favorite. Boxer or briefs?
Ema:  Oh, that depends on my mood. But most the time I like Darian commando.
Umm, Lia. I really should be going. I…umm…need to talk with Darian.
Lia: *studies Ema for a moment with amusement and a little concern* It was wonderful to get a chance to talk with you.
Ema: You too, Lia. And thank you Carrie Ann for having me over today.
Ema rushes to the door. When she gets there it opens and Darian picks her up and kisses her. She wraps her legs around his waist and they vanish.
Lia looks at Carrie Ann and laughs. “It’s a good thing vamps can teleport.”

Carrie Ann: Those two have amazing chemsitry! I’m glad all of y’all could come by for a visit!

Available May 1, 2012 at Decadent Publishing.
About LiaLia Davis is a mother to two young adults and two very special, equally different kitty cats. She’s a wife to her soul mate, who drives her crazy during editing/revisions. She and her family live in Northeast Florida battling hurricanes and very humid summers. But it’s her home and she loves it!
An accounting major, Lia has always been a dreamer with a very activity imagination. The wheels in her head never stop. She only recently became serious about publishing her work and loves it more than she imagined. Writing is a stress reliever that allows her to go off in her corner of the house and enter into another world she created, leaving the day job where it belongs.
Her favorite things are spending time with family, traveling, reading, writing, chocolate, coffee, nature and hanging out with her kitties.
Website / Facebook / Twitter / Goodreads

ExcerptEmalee’s pulse raced as she drummed her fingers on her desk and searched the website. A giddiness she hadn’t known since senior prom ran through her. The site claimed unlimited possibilities, a chance for adventure. Could they mean it? Because she’d already seen things beyond what humans deemed possible. Hell, her whole existence was unimaginable.    Her life had taken a lonesome turn when a friend she hadn’t seen since high school noted how much younger than the rest of her classmates she looked.  Her long-lasting youth had become a liability. Drawing too much attention to her unusual gift wouldn’t prove wise. In some cases, it could get her killed.  With no alternative, she’d closed the door on her life among humans and moved into the local witch coven, where everyone was different.
“What will you do?” Her best friend since preschool, a coven member in good standing, sat next to her for moral support and encouragement. Ema didn’t need much encouragement. The second Beth had mentioned a one-night stand, she’d been hooked. And Madame Eve’s dating service would save her from dying of boredom, at least for one night.
But could she go through with it? A wicked smile tugged at her lips and her inner voice said, “Hell, yeah.” Human strangers gave her a sense of safety. They knew nothing about her past or her unusual abilities.
“Just one night?”

Tasty Tuesday - Dust of My Wings

You think he's smiling at me? What? Is that selfish of me? LOL I think Tuesdays are my new favorite days. I mean really...sigh...I love my job.

Here's a snippet from my WIP Dust of My Wings:

When he pulled back she looked dazed, but he had to leave her before he made love to hear again. As he walked out, he looked over his shoulder one more time at her. She looked fragile, but strong. No matter what happened, she would be alright. She had to be. Because Shade didn’t want to think of another outcome. The green-eyed beauty had already settled into his heart and he didn’t want to let go.

Be sure to stop by Lia Davis's, Lacey Wolf's and Tempeste O’Riley's blogs for some more Tasty Tuesdays!!!

Manic Monday Updates

Its Monday again. How did that happen? I've been pretty boring actually this week. I've been working hard on Dust of My Wings to get it done by my June 1st deadline. I'm falling for these characters hard guys. Shade and Lily are quickly becoming my favorite couple LOL. I know, I know. I change my mind with each book, don't I? The Dante's Circle world is even more intricate and diverse than my Redwood Pack world. It is such a treat and a well...its hard! But soooo worth it!

I"m also working on a new WIP that I can't really talk about other than I'm having fun with it. Oh!! And I've been working and Adam's book so I can sit down and get ready to write!

Plus I have a release out May 1st in A Night Away. I've already received some positive feedback on it and its making the stress not so bad LOL.

I've also been working on a super sekrit project that will be revealed in about a month. Its a multi-dimensional project that means good and new thing!! It is soooo exciting y'all!

I'm also looking for more Street Pack Members to help me out with promo and getting the word out. My Pack gets special perks and exclusive content! Plus free books. *Grins* If you're interested, email me here http://www.carrieannryan.com/contact-me-2/.

Like I said, I've been quite boring, but as always, let me know if you have any questions LOL! And be sure to check out my friend Lacey Wolf who is also tagging along for Manic Monday Updates!!

A Night Away - Six Sentence Sunday #37

A Night Away (Redwood Pack book 3.5) - Out May 1st

Mel rested against Kade’s chest, listening to his heartbeat while he carried her into their cottage. Her body felt heavy yet weightless at the same time. Her mate had rocked her world, and she just wanted to curl up and never let go.      The threats of responsibility homed in on her, but she brushed them away. She just needed one night. Yes, she missed Finn like a lost limb, but she had to trust in her family and the fact that they’d take care of him and call if they needed help.
