Tasty Tuesday - Charmed Spirits

Mmmm Tasty Tuesday. I LOVE this day of the week LOL. So.....what do you think when you see him???
And here is a snippet from my WIP, Charmed Spirits, book 1 in the Holiday Montana series.

Jordan let out a sigh and forced herself not to turn around and run. No not run. Just strategically not be anywhere near the place that had stolen so much of her life.

Make sure you stop at the other Tasty Tuesdays for more smexiness! Lia Davis Tempeste O’Riley

Manic Monday Updates: A Trip and a new WIP

Happy Monday!!! I'm still in Colorado enjoying my vacation. *sigh* It has been such a blast that I've only written like 350 words LOL. But its okay, my Holiday Montana boys are waiting and ready for me once I get back.

So far, I've seen a bobcat, coyotes, deer, and, oh, yeah, a bear. A freaking bear in our backyard. And we've skydived, white water rafted, bungee jumped, hiked, ate, and watching my little sister graduate college. Not too bad for less than week. Not too bad at all.

I'm also starting a new blog post called Off the Page. On the third Saturday of each month I'll post an scene involving my characters from one of my stories. It'll be a look inside their lives beyond the book. The posts will be listed under the category Off the Page and will also have a page. So look for the first post on the third Saturday Of June (6/16).

So what does that mean for writing? Not too much. I'm actually enjoying a break. My grandpa found out I'm a "smutty writer" this week. He's proud of me and can't wait to make my grandma read them LOL. I had been so afraid, but I should have known better than to be.

Once I get back, I get to pack again for a wedding in Connecticut, so even less writing for me there. But don't worry, you'll get your books on time LOL.

Well, I don't have too much to say other than I'm enjoying myself!!

Stop on over to Lacey Wolfe, Lia Davis, and Fated  Desires for even more updates!!

Fresh Friday Reads: A Dream Hunter, Two Vampires, A Goth, A Werewolf, and Sexy Handymen

I'm out of town and super busy. LOL. What's new right? But here are a few books I read on the plane and such. Tell me, what are you reading?

Bound by the Night - Cynthia Eden

Have you tried Cynthia's Bound series? They are a group of shorts set in the same world. Very hot! I liked this one probably the best of them all. A hot were and a sexy, hut, vampire.

For the last fifteen years, vampire queen Iona has been dead to the world. Trapped under the power of a brutal curse, she has been helpless. A prisoner, locked within her own still body. Then alpha werewolf Jamie O’Connell fights his way to her side. After defeating the guards that surround her, Jamie gives Iona his blood…and she rises.

The world has changed a great deal in the last fifteen years, and Iona has changed, too. Once known as the Blood Queen because of her dark reputation, she now finds herself longing for the blood of only one man…only he isn’t just a man. She wants the blood of her werewolf—Jamie’s blood. But Iona doesn’t realize that Jamie has been keeping secrets from her. Very dark, dangerous secrets. And Iona may have traded one curse for another.

Now that he has Iona, Jamie vows to never let her go. He needs his Blood Queen in order to defeat his enemy, he needs her to make his own beast stronger, and…he just needs her. Jamie has risked his life to claim Iona, and he won’t let anything break their bond. Not time. Not spells. Not even a wild and reckless vampire queen…

Warning: This is a hot vampire and werewolf romance novella...so in this story, you will find danger, lust, adult language and adult sexy times.

Immortal Hearts - Ellen Schreiber

So yes, this is a YA. Its only of the few I actually read because I can't stand angst LOL. But it was cute and something nice to read. Plus, my younger cousin actually reads now because of this series!

Athena "Stormy" Sterling is coming to Dullsville, and Raven is both excited and panicked in anticipation of Alexander's little sister's visit. Alexander tells Raven that she and his sister have a lot in common, but can the mini-Raven be everything she hopes for? Alexander calls her Stormy for a reason.

Stormy's visit stirs up the perfect immortal whirlwind. Raven is forced to take a good look at what it would really mean to be a vampire in the Sterling family, aside from some of the things she already loves, like shunning the sun and sleeping in a coffin with Alexander. When Raven compares her life with Stormy's, she can see that it's not all starry skies and black roses. But Raven knows she's always wanted to be a vampire.

Alexander is as romantic and dreamy as ever, and though he keeps showing Raven how much he loves her, will she ultimately be able to convince him that it's the right thing to turn her?

This final chapter of Vampire Kisses' nocturnal romance will keep all mortal and immortal hearts racing.

Nailed to the Wall - Jayne Rylon

Um Yeah. Sexy? Very much so. Read this one with a cool glass of water by your side!

The crew is back and they’re dirtier than ever.

Five sexy men with a penchant for love and lust in any variation have formed a crew. They work hard and play harder—together. Though their partnership began in construction, renovating houses and selling them for a mint, they’ve formed a bond around their shared goal to provide women, and each other, with the ultimate sexual experience.

Over the past year, as each member discovered his soul mate—or two—they expanded the reach of their circle, lighting up their nights along with their souls. Monogamous relationships and the desire to start families threaten to put their libertine revelry on the back burner. Will the passion that bonded them fade away? How will the new crew wives cope with the complex relationship the men will always cherish and crave?

Determined to prove they stand by their men, the women decide it’s time to flex some muscle and give the crew a dose of girl power. They collude to take the guys as their horny hostages, using some big guns: boudoir photos, a pillow fight and a calculated foray into partner swapping. But will they have the guts to go through with their plans?

Product Warnings
By Book Five in this series, fans will attest that anything goes in the crew. Be prepared for ménage in every flavor—m/f, f/f, mfm, fmf, and more—along with a slew of that's what he said jokes. No throwing tomatoes at the author, please!

1.      The Guardian – Sherrilyn Kenyon

And I finally got a chance to sit and read this. I love to read these in one sitting, so I need to block out time LOL. I LOVE LOVE this series and its not getting old for me. Can't wait for more. Sherrilyn always makes me sob, but I love her.

Dream-Hunter Lydia has been charged with the most sacred and dangerous of missions: To descend into the Nether Realm and find the missing god of dreams before he betrays the secrets that could kill her and her kind. What she never expects is to be taken prisoner by the Realm’s most vicious guardian…

Seth’s time is running out. If he can’t hand over the entrance to Olympus, his own life and those of his people will be forfeit. No matter the torture, Seth hasn’t been able to break the god in his custody. Then there’s the beautiful Dream-Hunter Lydia: She isn’t just guarding the gates of Olympus—she’s holding back one of the world’s darkest powers. If she fails, an ancient curse will haunt the earth once more and no one will be safe. But evil is always seductive...

And be sure to stop by Lia Davis' for more Fresh Friday Reading.

What Makes a Vampire a Vampire?

I have the lovely Cara Bristol here talking about just that!
Think about how vampires have been described in literature:Transformed from human to monster by the bite of another.Feed on human blood to survive.Imbued with superpowers such as super strength and super speed.Ageless and immortal, but capable of being killed by a stake, sunlight, fire.Have an aversion to garlic, holy water, crosses. Can be shape-shifters by turning into bats. Can’t see their reflections.Have to be invited in before they can attack a human.
Authors have taken great creative license with nearly all of these characteristics, including the most basic of all – the need for blood or the way they feed. Nowadays, some vamps can live off synthetic blood or acquire bagged blood to avoid having to bite their victims. A stake through the heart only paralyzes some vamps. Remove it, and he’s reenergized (and usually more pissed off than ever!). They have become immune to the effect of garlic, holy water and crosses.
A person doesn’t need to be bitten, sucked dry or drink a vampire’s blood to become transformed into a vamp, some vamps are created the old-fashioned way: through procreative sexual intercourse. Sunlight has no effect on vamps anymore, making it possible for them to hold down full time day jobs.
Vamps have gone from being the monsters of horror fiction to the sexy heroes of romance novels. You couldn’t buy good PR like that!
The only characteristic that seems to remain constant is that they have fangs.
So as an author delving into the paranormal realms and writing my first erotic romance vampire story I was able to pick and choose the traits I wanted my vamps to have. But I was also challenged to do something different than what had been done before by other authors. My vamps are able to communicate through the sense smell AND some of them are able to retain a portion of their former humanity. They can be “Half Breeds” rather than “Full Bloods.”
A Scent of Longing Blurb:Lily Dansen refuses to date vampires. The last time she trusted a one, he turned her. She agrees to a date arranged by 1Night Stand, believing that a quick tryst is all that’s left for her.  A 376-year-old half-vampire, half human Luc Fortier can’t continue to satisfy the vampire fantasies of young ladies while his dreams go unfulfilled. He vows to bedazzle one last date before he calls it quits. Neither Luc nor Lily expect more than an evening of passion, but they haven’t counted on Madame Eve’s superior matchmaking skills.
A Scent of Longing Excerpt“Someone named Madame Evangeline emailed me to confirm my appointment.” Lily Dansen nailed her best friend with an accusing stare. “What did you get me into?” Her feet curled under her on Lily’s sofa, Roxie Fairchild braved her scowl without a flinch. “It’s for your own good. You’ve moped around long enough. You need to live again.” “Date, you mean.” “Date. Have sex. Get wild and crazy. Anything!” “No man will go out with me once he’s finds out what I am. What happens if I do to someone else what Phillip did to me? I couldn’t live with myself.” Bitterness etched Lily’s voice. “You’re nothing like Phillip.” Her expression gentle, Roxie squeezed Lily’s hand. Her touch felt feverish, but Lily knew Roxie was fine; she was the afflicted one. “You have a long future, and you can’t spend it alone.” Lily’s brunette curls bounced with the shake of her head. “I can’t date. I’m a vampire now.” The corners of her mouth drooped. “I’m also a terrible judge of character.” “You’ve made some bad choices,” Roxie agreed. “Married. Wanted for armed robbery. Vampire….” Lily ticked off the losers she’d had the misfortune of dating. “That’s why Madame Evangeline’s 1Night Stand service—” “—is a bad idea.” “—is a good idea,” Roxie continued. “You can get your feet wet before you dive into the dating pool. An evening of hot sex with no strings attached will help you get your mojo back.” Lily scrunched her nose up with distaste. “I don’t see how sleeping with a stranger will help me regain my confidence. And what if he has some horrible disease?”Roxie chuckled. “A, that’s what condoms prevent. B, Madame Eve screens her candidates carefully. And, C, you’re a vampire now! You’re immune to everything, right?” “That’s the only positive thing.” Lily hugged herself. The golden color she’d acquired basking on Santa Monica Beach had faded to pasty white, and she would never be able to tan again. If she so much as stepped into sunlight, she’d sizzle like a potato dropped into a deep fryer. And speaking of which, she couldn’t eat french fries anymore either. Or pizza. Or chocolate. But none of those things mattered. Her throat constricted, and she swallowed. “I’ll never have children.” By turning her, Phillip, the rat vampire bastard, had stolen her chance of motherhood. “I know, sweetie.” Roxie’s voice brimmed with sympathy. “And damn Phillip for that. But maybe, when you’re ready, you could adopt?” “Who’d give a baby to a vampire?” “How would they know?” “There’d be home visits from a social worker or daytime meetings with an agency, which you know I can’t do!” She raised her hand to halt further painful discussion. “Please, can we talk about something else?” “All right.” Roxie blinked and smothered a tiny yawn. “Sorry about that.” “It’s not your fault.” She was out of sync with the world. The clock had struck midnight and her friend could hardly keep her eyes open, but Lily was wide awake. That pointed to another reason she couldn’t date—how could she explain her unavailability during the day? “There’s no way Madame Evangeline could find a guy who would suit me.” “She has a gift for connecting people. Besides, I know you. I filled out your online application with your likes, dislikes, and character traits.” Annoyance warred with curiosity. Curiosity won. “What did you say about me?” “I said you’re twenty-eight, brown-eyed, brunette, curvy, five-foot-five, a hundred and twenty pounds—” “Actually, I’m a hundred and thirty,” Lily admitted. “I figured you’d want me to shave off a little.” Despite her misgivings, she laughed. “You do know me.” Her best friend since the second grade, Roxie was the only person with whom she had trusted her horrible secret—even her parents didn’t know. “What else did you say?” She fingered her good luck charm, an aquamarine pendant. She’d fallen in love with the stone, drawn by its ethereal, calming color. “I mentioned you are a graphic artist who works from home, likes children and dogs, are a night person, and you need a man with an open mind.” A frightening possibility crystallized. “Did you mention that vamps need not apply?” “And have Madame Eve delete the application as a hoax? No. Besides, if you hooked up with another vampire, wouldn’t that be perfect?” “Absolutely not.” Lily shuddered. “After what Phillip did, I could never trust another vamp.” The odds of meeting a vampire through a dating service probably ranged between slim and none. Not that it mattered, because she wasn’t going. “I’ll email Madame Evangeline and tell her thanks, but no thanks.”

Dakota on Being the Hero

Dakota on being the Hero
Can any of you two-legged heroes tell me why you think you’re so special or that you’re better than I am?To be honest I don’t think any of you can. To be fair let’s look and compare some of the attributes we both have. You guys are tall which means for you to really see the heroine you have to look down because she’ll be shorter. The closer you are the more strain, or is it pain, in the neck she gets. Me, I know exactly how far away from Emily I need to be so we can see each other easily and not cause any body part strains. If we really want or need to see each other eye to eye all I have to do is hop up on my hind feet and set my paws on her shoulders. Don’t forget she’s only five feet one inch. And guys, what’s with that hair. Either light or dark and there’s that little wisp that falls down onto your forehead. If your woman might think it’s so cute then why is she always brushing it out of the way. I don’t even want to know how much money you spend at the salon. Me, a good brush out weekly and maybe once a month a trip to the groomer for a trim and I’m all set. Half or less of what you spend. Then there’s your grumbling when your hair messed up, be it in a fight or when you’re driving with the top down. For me a good shake and everything’s back in place. While we’re on grooming, what’s this with the manicure thing. Real men don’t have their nails done by some overly endowed manicurist. Snip, snip with the nail clippers and I’m ready to rock and roll. And those cloths you guys wear. Five hundred dollar suit and silk shirts with perfectly knotted ties. I mean, get real you’re really going to chase some bad guy through the muck and mud in your designer, hand stitched Italian loafers. My ears are hurting just from hearing you wimps crying over the dry cleaning bills.Give me a really nice cloth collar any day. My preference is the new camouflage pattern the Army has. Of course, I do insist on a matching leash for the rare times Emily has to make sure I’m safe, which isn’t very often.Oh, I could go on about things like the eyebrows. Bet you can’t wiggle them like I can. Or you having to cup your hand around those pitiful excuses you guys call ears. Me, perk mine up and if necessary a slight tilt of the head and I can hear a pin drop three rooms away. And when they say the ‘nose knows’ they’re talking about me. I can sniff out a friend or bad guy long before they show their face. That honker you got, all it does is snivel. So fellas, who really is the better hero. You, Mr. High Maintenance or me, woman’s best friend, Mr. Low Maintenance. A scratch behind the ear, a good tummy rub and I’m with her for life. Don’t forget us collies will be around long after you dump the her for the hotty to come down the pike. COLLIES ROCKA Body in the AtticA missing soldier. A break in. A former, now soldier, model tells of an aborted assault. A passageway hiding more than years of dust and cobwebs. Rooms where there are none. The reappearance of the mysterious ‘brown-haired man’. What, if anything, ties these random facts together. With precision and dedication Emily and Dakota start to unravel some of the questions. Only when an FBI agent steps up do the facts start to merge into what appears to be a terrorist conspiracy.A body found halfway across the country is the final clue in answering all of the question, but one. Will Emily be able to save a life before it’s too late?A BODY IN THE ATTICAstraea Press   Amazon   B&N

Tasty Tuesday - Charmed Spirits

So....what do you think his name is? And what paranormal creature do you think he could be? *grins*
And now, a snippet from my WIP, Charmed Spirits, Book 1 of the Holiday Montana Series.

“The road to salvation is through cleansing your heart and finding the right path. Turn your back on those with wicked ways.”Jordan cross switched off the radio in her ’68 Mustang. “Really? They’re still preaching that garbage? It’s 2012 for freaks sake,” she mumbled to herself and drummed her fingers on the steering wheel. She came up to a sign and rolled her eyes at the message.“Yeah, sure Welcome to Holiday, Montana. Right."

And be sure to stop by Tempeste O’Riley for more sexy Tasty Tuesdays!!!!!

Manic Monday Updates: A Trip, A New WIP, and Ouch

Happy Monday! So last week I finished my draft of Dust of My Wings. *falls down in a heep* Oh my, that WIP killed me. Just as Lia. I wrote and rewrote most of it in April. I can't believe I wrote that much in such a short time. But I wanted to and needed to.

So yes, Dust of My Wings, is on schedule and right now is Lia's hands. *cough* She loves me. Right? No? Oh, well then.

That means I've started on another WIP, Charmed Spirits. I have one chapter done LOL. But the rest are blocked and plotted. I just decided to do something crazy and *gasp* take a day off. I know, I know.

So yesterday, I got a pedicure, enjoyed time in the sun and worked out. I'm now on new medication so I can actually work out. So if you ever see me posting "OMG what was I thinking OUCH!" you know why.

I'm also going to not be around this much. I leave tomorrow for Colorado to watch my sister graduate college! I can't believe she's old enough to do that! Granted, I'm only four years older, but still... I am so freaking proud of her and can't wait to be the annoying sister in the crowd with a camera and a blow horn.

Yes. That will be me. But what can I say. I want everyone to know that MY sister is amazing and has a degree. Plus, she's going to the police academy, so I need to show my support. You never know when I'll need *cough* assistance with the police LOL. But this does mean I have a new font of knowledge if I ever want to write about cops. *grins*

Yes, I'm rambling, but I'm just so darn proud of her. AND she's proud of me. No, she doesn't read my books because they aren't her thing. But she hands out my swag to strangers at the book store and hypes me up. LOL

That's about it for me! I'll be traveling, spending time with the family, and writing when I'm avoiding them. Because you know that will be the case! I'll be sure to put up pictures (at least without the faces of my family) and everything.

Oh! And if you're in the Denver or Colorado Springs area, hit me up. We can do coffee!!!

Until next Monday!

And be sure to check out Lia Davis Lacey Wolfe. They are going to show you their updates as well!!!

Dust of My Wings - Six Sentence Sunday #40

Hi! Welcome to my Six! Below is the snippet of Dust of My Wings, book 1 in the Dante's Circle series, out in July.

Shade didn’t bother with a reply, just a curt nod and lifted his gaze behind her in a dismissal. With an obvious pout, she huffed away. Good. He wasn’t here to placate the feelings of a woman who didn’t interest him. No, he was here for Lily. Ambrose had told him the night before she liked to play dominoes in the park on Saturday afternoons and he wasn’t going to waste an opportunity to meet the wide-eyed beauty.

Thanks for coming and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Fresh Friday Reads: Shifters, Witches, Elves, and a Sexy Historical

I'm in deadline hell, plus there weren't many releases for me this week LOL. But here are a couple I read and/or found!

Finding Chrissten - NJ Walters

I really love NJ Walters. This one picked up right where the previous left off. I cried for this heroine. From the first sentence I was with her and never wanted to let her go. Hank is perfect for her and so caring - and alpha enough to get the job done. A REALLY REALLY great book!

She escaped hell. Now love must capture her heart.

Legacy, Book 5

For eighteen horrific months, Chrissten Lawton was at the mercy of a crazy doctor and his pureblood werewolf flunky. She was subjected to experiments, beaten, mated against her will…and fading fast.

Just as she reaches the breaking point, the Haven pack comes to her rescue. Although any strange male makes her nervous, one of her rescuers stays by her side night and day, and something within her responds to this wolf’s gentleness.

From the moment Hank Brewer picked up Chrissten’s unique scent, he’s been driven to help her overcome her trauma-fed fears. He may be a half-breed, but he never does anything halfway. As he dedicates every waking moment to her healing, their fragile link leads them toward something they both hesitate to name.

But the danger isn’t past. Chrissten’s mate is still on the loose and he won’t rest until she—and the rest of Haven’s females—are taken for the cruel enjoyment of his rogue pack. Even though Hank would give his life to save her, the biggest challenge lies ahead. Admitting their love to each other.

Product Warnings
This book contains an evil doctor, a crazy pureblood werewolf, a dysfunctional family, hunky werewolves, hot, sweaty sex, a daring rescue and a love that will make your heart sing.

A Perfect Blood - Kim Harrison

This came out awhile ago, and I'm just getting back into the series. After a certain *ahem* event happened a few books back, it took me awhile to get the courage to come back to Kim. I'm SOOOO happy I did! Rachel is always getting into trouble and I'm falling for a certain elf!

Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth — a would-be creator is determined to make his (or her) own demons. But it can’t be done without Rachel’s blood.

As a bounty hunter, Rachel has battled vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, and more. But humanity itself might be her toughest challenge.

Revenge Wears Rubies - Renne Bernard

Renne actually gave me this book as a congrats gift for my reading in 2011. I fell for this book and can't wait to finish the series!

First in a sexy new series of erotic passion set in Victorian London

Vengeance doesn't always turn out the way you planned.

Galen Hawke desires nothing but revenge against the woman who betrayed his dearly departed friend. Instead of mourning the loss of her fiancé, Miss Haley Moreland is merrily celebrating her upcoming nuptials to another man. Now, Galen has one mission: to seduce Miss Moreland and enslave her heart. And when she is completely his, he will destroy her.

With her family on the brink of financial ruin, Haley knows she should be grateful for her providential betrothal. But then she meets the dangerously handsome Galen, whose wicked touch makes her long to abandon all logic. If Galen's promises are sincere, the match to a family of noble blood and strong financial accounts could be the remedy her family desperately needs. And if he isn't sincere, one last chance to taste the passion he ignites before settling into a life of convention is equally alluring.

And hop on over to Lia Davis' for her Fresh Friday Reads.

What's in a Title?

Titles are the best and worst friend a romance author can have. Get a good one and your book is half-way off the shelf (add a great cover and it leaps into a reader’s hands/e-reader).  Get a bad one, however, and your wonderful book may very well sit on that virtual (or real) shelf for months with no takers. How do you tell the Good from the Bad and the Ugly?
Some successful titles give us clues to what the book holds for us, especially the genre.  In historical romance novels key words like mistress, rake, seduction, scandalous, duke, viscount, bride, marriage and lady often come up in the titles.  In paranormal romance you may find wolves, vampires, prophecy, angel, demon; in westerns cowboy, cowgirl, horses, ranch, ride, branded, Texan/Texas, and wild; in fantasy dragon, sword, magic, quest, fairies, wizards, and magicians.  It all depends on how you use these words, how you craft them into an unforgettable title that will speak to the browser and make them want to read your book.
That being said, I decided to have a little fun with this post, and so I have some not quite serious advice for the authors out there.  It’s called the Random Romance Title Generator and it can be found at http://novelistvmd.awardspace.com/RomanceTitleGenerator2.htm.  There are eight slots for titles and you simply push the button to generate random titles for your WIP or book.  I played with it for a while and came up with some very interesting title material:Flaming Servant, The Shattered Book, Kiss of Viscount, Churchyard in the Sky, Irresistible Ruin (I actually quite like that one), Bedouin in the River, The Women of the Trembling Twilight, The Virgin and the Viscount, Creek of Courage, The Trunk’s Tears, Woman in the Bible, Unwilling Twilight, The Delicious Stranger, and (my personal favorite) Physician in the Lips.  These are only some of the hysterical / good findings at the site.  I became addicted to generating titles in a very short time and even if you don’t use it seriously, it’s a great, fun stress reliever.  And who knows, a random title may spark a new story for you.
I was lucky when I sat down to write Almost Perfect, because the title that suggested itself to me got accidentally changed.  Since the book is set on an island, the song Almost Paradise immediately popped into my head.  So I started writing and emailed a friend that I had begun this great book and described the plot and gave the name as Almost Perfect.  Why I typed that I have no idea, especially as the other song was stuck in my head.  But she wrote back that it was a great title and I value her opinion so much that I changed it without a second thought.  And she was right because that title can be easily used to promote the work:  An Almost Perfect Interview, an Almost Perfect Christmas, an Almost Perfect Meeting, an Almost Perfect Title.  Hmmm.  Could have been the title for this post.
Giveaway: Jenna is giving away a $5 Amazon Gift Card to a commenter. Be sure to leave your email address so we can get a hold of you!
Blurb for Almost Perfect:      Pamela Kimball’s birthday present, a 1Night Stand adventure, promises to jump-start her life, put a new man in her bed, and help her forget her past.  Unfortunately, movie-buff Pam’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy takes an alarming wrong turn when she’s abandoned on a not quite deserted island—with ex-husband Roger Ware.
Forced by hunger to accept Roger’s offer of dinner,  Pam realizes the geek she married has transformed into one of the most charming, sexiest men she’s ever met. His newfound confidence—and hot body—re-kindle old fires.  A simple kiss leads Roger to challenge her to discover how much his lovemaking skills have improved, leaving Pam torn between self-preservation and burning desire.
With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand.
Almost Perfect is Decadent Publishing's Read For A Cure book for the month of May.  All publisher proceeds from sales of the book from any vendor during the month will go to benefit Relay for Life. Bio:Jenna Jaxon is a multi-published author of historical  and contemporary romance who has been reading and writing historical romance since she was a teenager.  A romantic herself, Jenna has always loved a dark side to the genre, a twist, suspense, a surprise.  She tries to incorporate all of these elements into her own writing. Jenna lives in Virginia with her family and a small menagerie of pets.  When not reading or writing, she indulges her passion for the theatre, working with local theatres as a director.  She often feels she is directing her characters on their own private stage. She has equated her writing to an addiction to chocolate because once she starts she just can’t stop.
Excerpt for Almost Perfect:
She inched into the lapping surf, searching for movement. Reflection off the water made this task harder than expected. Wasn’t the Caribbean supposed to be teeming with fish?  Now that’s something she’d had a lot of instruction in. Almost every marooned-on-an-island movie had a scene where the heroine learned to catch fish. Six Days, Father Goose, Blue Lagoon. All you needed was your hands and patience. She could do this.Pam waded out further then stopped just before the water hit her now dry shorts. “Not gonna to have a damp crotch all night.” The words reminded her of exactly what she hadhoped for tonight. “But not from wet shorts!” She headed back to shore to remove and drape them next to her shirt. The bandeau was a different story. Still damp, even after several hours, and uncomfortable. Might dry better if not next to her skin anyway. “Screw it!  Live dangerously.” Standing as good as naked on the deserted beach, Pam smiled as the warm breeze caressed her bare body. The sense of being slightly naughty added to her delight in the sensual feel of the air as it dried her breasts. Her nipples peaked as the wind cooled them. She strutted down to the water’s edge to sink her toes in the sand, the salty tang in the air adding to the perfect moment.“If you’re skinny dipping, you forgot to remove one very important piece of clothing.”Pam whirled around. Roger stood on the beach behind her, a green bottle of Perrier in one hand. His gaze played up and down her naked torso and his salacious grin widened. “Mind if I join you?”
