One of my favorite things to do during the summer is sit by the pool and read ROMANCE books. Spicy romance, sweet romance, historical, sci fi, etc - it doesn't matter because I love it all. Oh, but if the romance has some spanking in it, then I REALLY love it. If you're looking for something new to read this summer, I highly recommend giving a spanking romance book a try. It might surprise you (hopefully in a good way).
 
Here's an excerpt from one of my recent releases, Commander's Slave , a sci fi spanking romance:

“Are you still going to punish me, Master?”

“Yes, Betsy,” he said gently. “You must learn to obey me, and I expect after I warm your little bottom you’ll think twice before you hide from me again.” He decided not to include the name slipup, because he’d rather liked hearing his name on her lips. She’d corrected her error quickly by calling him Master anyway. As long as she never made the slipup in public, he wouldn’t mention it.

To his surprise, she didn’t argue over her impending spanking, nor did she attempt to escape his lap. He suspected their little talk had lessened her fears. She nodded and twisted her hands together, biting her lip. Pink stained her cheeks, and he found her nervousness adorable. Though he still hated to cause her pain, he knew it was for the best. If word got out that the commander of Sumlin District’s warriors had a disobedient slave, his reputation would be tarnished and town authorities would call for Betsy to be punished publicly. A commander’s slave was expected to be a model slave, and even though the house was secluded and far from the prying eyes of the town, Edek refused to risk her safety.

It was his duty to punish her. To mold her into a good little slave. He only hoped she didn’t grow to hate him for it.

“Stand up, Betsy. Let’s get this over with.” He helped her to her feet, guiding her to stand between his spread thighs. She bowed her head in a show of submission so lovely he couldn’t tear his eyes away. Sweetness radiated from her, and as clearly as he’d sensed her emotions earlier, he sensed her willingness to please. “Tell me why you’re to be punished, Betsy. I want to hear you say it.”

She gasped at his command and her chest rose and fell heavily under her uneven breaths. Strands of auburn fell forward and she stared down at him, her lips parted in surprise.

“Betsy,” he said in a warning tone. Color rose to her cheeks, and his groin tightened as desire spiraled through him at the sight of her nervousness.

“I-I am to be punished because I didn’t come up to your bedroom like I was supposed to.” Her words came out soft but strained.

“And?”

“And I was trying to hide from you, Master.” She gulped and licked her lips as she stiffened. With her head still bowed, she glanced away and her gaze wandered around the room. “If you’re waiting for me to apologize, that’s not going to happen. I’m afraid I’m not very sorry.”

Edek laughed and grasped her hand, squeezing it as his fingertips stroked the softness of her palm. “By the time I’m done reddening your bottom, you will be sorry, Betsy. I can promise you that.”

He guided her over his lap, biting the inside of his mouth to restrain a groan as her center pressed down on his swollen cock. Taking her hands, he held them at the small of her back, ignoring her noise of protest. She wiggled into place, as if trying to get comfortable, and Edek once again had to bite the inside of his mouth lest he moan at the exquisite feel of her body against his.

“You were naughty, Betsy,” he said, reaching for the hem of her dress. “Naughty slaves get spanked on their bare bottoms.”

If it wasn't for readers like you, I wouldn't be so motivated to keep writing. A few years ago when I first started writing, I dreamed of being a full time writer--and now because of you I finally am. It means a lot and I can't say 'thank you' enough! :)

June 18th - P is for Pie

One of my favorite things about summer is all the fresh local berries. There are several farms nearby that allow you to pick your strawberries and blueberries, so I always take advantage of that. In mid-July when the poke berries that grow in the woods nearby are ripe, I also try to gather as many as I can. Why do I love berries so much? Pie! That's why. I make pie all summer long. In our house, pie is dessert AND breakfast food. Fruit is healthy, right? :)

Here's the simple recipe I usually use for my berry pies:

2 cups sugar (although I usually halve this and it still tastes the same)
1 small pack strawberry jello (or blueberry jello, or any kind you'd like)
4 pints hulled strawberries (or blueberries or whatever kind of berry you prefer)
6 tbsp. cornstarch
2 cups water
2 baked pie shells

1. Cook sugar, cornstarch, jello, and water on stove until thick and let cool.
2. Place berries in cool, pre-baked pie shells.
3. Pour sauce over and refrigerate for several hours.

June 17th - O is for Out and About

In about two weeks I'll be Out and About at the Frederick Book Festival in Frederick, Maryland. It'll be the first time I've stepped out locally as Sue Lyndon. The book festival is for all genres, not just romance, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as meeting readers goes. But it'll be a new experience and I'm looking forward to it! I'll have swag and print books, including the new print book for The Alien Warrior Collection ( Surrender + Commander's Slave ).

When & Where: The Frederick Book Festival will be held at the Hampton Inn, located at 5311 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick, MD on Saturday, June 28th from 10am-6pm. I'll be there the whole time (with lots of other authors!) and would love to meet any readers who have a chance to pop in. Admission is free!

Girls' Night Out for Readers: Also on the evening of June 28th after the book festival ends, I'm hosting a Girls' Night Out (dinner at a restaurant in Frederick, MD) with paranormal romance author Jane Wakely. Welcome to day 14 of the Spanking A-Z Challenge. I'm officially past the halfway point...woohoo! :)

  June 16th - N is for Naming Characters I have a difficult time naming characters and honestly it's one of my least favorite parts of writing. I spend way too much time obsessing over characters' names, changing their names, and second guessing my choice long after a book has been published.  Sometimes an entire story, minus the characters' names, will come to me and I start writing before I can even think of what to call them. So for a few days (or weeks!), until I come up with something adequate, I might call them Mary and John in my work-in-progress. Unfortunately, names never pop into my head the way a story idea does. I keep baby name books next to my reference books in my office, and that helps now and then. I also found a

Welcome to the 12th day of the Spanking A-Z Challenge! Woohoo...almost halfway done! :)



June 13th - L is for Lubrication

In real life, bottled lubrication is your friend. I highly recommend keeping a few tubes of it in the nightstand next to your bed. There's nothing worse than fumbling around in the dark and asking, "Hey, where's the lube?" Especially when it comes to anal sex. But for some reason, when I'm reading (or writing) an erotic romance, I find it incredibly sexy if the hero uses the heroine's "natural essence" or "natural juices" or whatever you want to call it, to guide the way during anal instead of grabbing a bottle of lube. I would say I write lube into my books about half the time, and the other half of the time my characters use the natural moisture from the heroine's pussy, but I find the latter much hotter before any type of anal shenanigans. I also find the use of natural lube more appealing than the bottled stuff when it comes to anal punishment...

Excerpt from Surrender :

“What’s this?” His fingers glided through her folds, discovering her dampness. She tried to squirm away, but his hold remained firm. One digit pushed inside her channel, pumping slowly in and out. “Don’t fight me, little one. You know you deserve to be punished.” She felt his hand leave her and stiffened when his moistened finger suddenly poked at her bottom hole.

“Please,” she whispered, but even she wasn’t sure whether it was a plea for him to stop or to continue. No one had touched her there before.

“You were a bad girl,” he scolded, pushing his finger past her tight ring. She gasped and tried to relax, though it soon proved impossible. Without missing a beat, Merokk moved in and out of her asshole, fucking her shy entrance with his huge finger. Remorse welled up inside Fiona as she accepted this unusual punishment. She’d expected a spanking and nothing more. But Merokk had unique methods of asserting his authority over her, and this was no doubt one of them. Hello and welcome to day 11 of the Spanking A-Z Challenge!



June 12th - K is for Kindle

When I first heard about Kindles, and other ereaders, I had no interest in owning one. I was perfectly happy with my print books and didn't think I'd enjoy reading an entire book off a device with a screen. I liked holding a real book in my hands, smelling it, turning the pages, etc. My husband kept asking me if I wanted one and I kept firmly saying no. Then about three Mother's Days ago, my husband got me a Kindle anyway. I opened the package and tried to do a good job acting excited about my present, and he started laughing at me and said he knew I didn't like it, but he was pretty sure I would eventually.

He was right. I soon discovered my reading options were much broader on a Kindle. I found ebook authors I'd never heard of who didn't have books in physical book stores. I found spanking stories...lots of spanking stories. It was nice not to have to read those off my laptop anymore.

Once I read a few short stories on Kindle, I started thinking that maybe I'd try to write one. I'd already been working on a full length sci fi novel (no, this one has never been published), but learning there was a market for short stories and novellas was pretty exciting and changed my whole outlook on getting published.

The moral of this story is always be open to trying new things. Oh, and always listen to your husband. LOL.

Hi, my name is Sue and I'm kinda sorta obsessed with Justin Timberlake. I really don't listen to any other artists similar to JT, but there's something about him that I can't even explain that draws me to him and his music. He's my guilty pleasure. When my husband is working late, I'm usually listening to JT and drinking wine. And yes, my husband totally makes fun of me for this and is constantly reminding me that I'm not a teenage girl.
