My Book Boyfriend Blog Hop

A was over at Carrie Ann Ryan's blog with an brand new scene from Below the Belt. If you've read it before (or if it's on your to-be-read pile) then hop on over for an exclusive read. Take me there >

My Book Boyfriend Giveaway Hop Hosted is by Reading Between the Wines Book Club & As the Pages Turn Giveaway. The hop will run from 12:01 AM February 1st through to 11:59 PM February 5th, 2012.

What better way to celebrate the month of LOVE then with your favorite book boyfriend? Whether you have a valentine or not, the swoon worthy heroes we find in romances can't be matched anyway! So why not put on those naughty underwear and curl up with one of these steamy reads this year instead? Make you Valentine's Day perfect by joining the My Book Boyfriend Giveaway Hop where fellow bloggers offer you the chance to win some of their favorite book boyfriends!

My favorite book boyfriend is a fighter. He's tough and, let's face it, grumpy as hell. But he's also calm and incredibly gentle with our abused heroine. I love how he doesn't take any shit from anyone, even from the heroine, but he takes care of her and let's her be herself.

He's…Clay Powers from Defying the Odds by Kele Moon!

In all honesty, that's now how I pictured the hero or heroine, but hey, they are pretty hot this way. And the cover is so sparkly! Yes, I'm such a girl. Anyway, here's the blurb (via GoodReads):

When struggling waitress Melody Dylan gives a handsome, lonely stranger a simple gift she has no clue her life is about to take a drastic turn.

The stranger ends up being Clay Powers, a famous UFC heavyweight fighter. Clay's large build and dangerous fists have always intimidated. People in his hometown keep their distance and Clay is fine with that. Everything changes when a new waitress at the local diner buys him a piece of pie on thanksgiving. Touched by the gesture when it's obvious she can barely afford to survive, her warm smile and lush body churn up powerful feelings that leave Clay wanting more from her than pie.

Melody is running from her past and the small, country town of Garnet is the perfect hiding place. With an ex-husband after her and scars from her abusive marriage etched deep, the last thing she expects is to fall for a man who makes a living with his fists, but she can't resist Clay or the tender connection they share.

Finding love in the most unlikely of places, the passion is undeniable, but Clay and Melody know their haunted pasts and unpredictable futures leave the odds stacked against them.

I'm giving away, to one lucky commenter, a gift copy of Defying the Odds (you must be able to accept this in Kindle gift format), as well as a copy of my own martial arts erotic romance, Below The Belt (any format). Tell me what you think about a fighting hero who's tough on everyone else but oh-so-gentle with the heroine? Adorable, yes?

Six Sentence Sunday #3

[image error]I'm so excited to start sharing excerpts from Trust In Me, which comes out on February 14th. Yes, that's a Valentine's Day release for the dark and disturbing erotica loving set ;-)

In this opening scene, we're introduced to our heroine, Mia, and her longtime master, Carlos. No explicit content this time, but still dark subject matter, so carry on at your own risk…

Carlos looked down at me with a half-smile. The guy next to him was speaking in low, urgent tones, but I knew I had his attention.

Other whores might try coy smiles or a flash of cleavage, but if you really knew El Jefe—and, unfortunately, I did—then you knew all you had to do was drop to his feet. I knew what he wanted and how he liked it, knowledge born of years of training. As long as I behaved, he wouldn't kill me. I craved the release of death, but I was too well trained to earn it.

Thanks and be sure to visit the other sixers here.

A Little "Below the Belt" Love

I was on Jenna Jaxon's Journal this week, talking about when an alpha hero submits. Check it out for a few of my ideas for service and an exclusive, steamy excerpt.

I'm visiting a few more places for my mini-blog-tour next week, so stay tuned for more exclusive content, behind-the-scenes looks and an interview.

Below the Belt was reviewed by Rage, Sex and Teddy Bears:

Skye Warren did an absolutely magnificent job in developing her characters and in pulling the readers into the drama taking place in their lives. And Paris, what an absolutely dynamite heroine. When she finds out about the "Bet" does she slink away, cry or cling. Um….. no. She gathers her tattered dignity and gives a very dignified exit. Then he gets to chase her and do a little groveling. You know I just luuuurve a good groveling.

Oh, I do, too. Nothing beats a good grovel, except maybe what comes after ;-)

Thanks to all who participated in the Shameless Giveaway Bloghop! The main chained to the floor is relieved to be excused for the day, but he appreciated all your ogles. As for prizes, Jolene A was the winner of the femdom book of her choice. I'll also be sending a copy of Below the Belt to IdentitySeeker, Mara J. Brandon, and Barbara. Thanks again!

Six Sentence Sunday #2

I'd like to share the opening to Keep Me Safe, my dark erotica novella. If you're not sure what dark erotica is, one GoodReads reviewer, Shawna, says in what will probably forever be my favorite review: "This is a very dark, gritty, violent, and emotional story that is conveyed in an unapologetically raw, candid voice."

Danger Will Robinson! The following excerpt is sexually explicit and contains potentially disturbing nonconsent . If you're not into that, turn back now.

For the rest of you, we carry on… (I'm channeling Willy Wonka as he takes the remaining families on the psychedelic boat ride)

"You have – you have done this before, right?" he asked, pushing two fingers inside me.

"Been raped?" I asked, and his hand paused a beat before thrusting in again.

"Had sex," he said in a low tone.

"Yes to both."

He shut his eyes and bowed his head. "I'm sorry," he said hoarsely.

Hope that was, if not enjoyable, then at least intriguing or disturbing or some other affected adjective. Check out the other sixes here.

Have a great weekend!

Shameless Giveaway Hop

Today I want to share with you a picture that was my inspiration for the hero of my martial arts erotic romance, Abe. He's a black belt competing in a national competition, and tough as hell on the mats. But when he's all alone with our sweet, soft heroine, he changes his tune. Abe is happy to follow her lead in the bedroom, or the storage closet, or the empty ballroom…well, they keep busy.

Without further ado, here's man-chained-to-the-floor:

Yum, yum. That is all.

I'm giving away copies of Below the Belt to three lucky commenters. So what do you think about an alpha man letting go and submitting to his lady?

Don't forget to check out the other Shameless Hoppers here.

Dirty Little Secret: Favorite Alpha and Second-in-Command Team

Who's my favorite alpha and second in command team?

I really enjoyed the partnership between Lucien de Malheur and Jacob Donnely. Anne Stuart has a track record of dark, ruthless heroes and strong secondary romances, but this book is more, more, more on both counts. But Jacob tempered Lucien's evilness, because we got to see Jacob nettle him, and ultimately trust him with the heroine. And we saw how inherently good natured Jacob was, and if he trusted Lucien, then we also did. Their partnership, while not being central to the book, really pulled it all together.

Dirty Little Secret: Dark versus Light Edition

I prefer my heroes dark and broody over blonde and boisterous. What can I say? I like my men and my romances dark! I tend to picture them with dark hair even if the book says otherwise and I find it really distracting when the author keeps injecting other hair colors, like the blonde Sebastian from Kleypas' Devil in Winter or all those red-headed Mackenzies from Jennifer Ashley. Not that Sebastian or Ian are boisterous, mind you, just fair-colored.

That said, I'll admit to a crush on a certain white collared criminal who's on TV…

Dark hair? Check. Brooding? Well, he's got a cheery exterior, but inside he's all kinds of tortured.

Dirty Little Secret: Anticipated Book of 2012 Edition

This year, I'm looking forward to reading Crash Into You by Roni Loren. And lo! It has already been released, as of this past Tuesday. I'm only on chapter two, though, as I had a lot of books I was already working on. So far so good. Here's the scoop:

And the blurb (from GoodReads):

Brynn LeBreck has dedicated herself to helping women in crisis, but she never imagined how personal her work would get, or where it would take her. Her younger sister is missing, suspected to be hiding from cops and criminals alike at a highly secretive BDSM retreat-a place where the elite escape to play out their most extreme sexual fantasies. To find her, Brynn must go undercover as a sexual submissive. Unfortunately, The Ranch is invitation only. And the one master who can get her in is from the darkest corner of Brynn's past.

Brynn knows what attorney Reid Jamison is like once stripped of his conservative suit and tie. Years ago she left herself vulnerable only to have him crush her heart. Now she needs him again. Back on top. And he's all too willing to engage. But as their primal desires and old wounds are exposed, the sexual games escalate-and so does the danger. Their hearts aren't the only things at risk. Someone else is watching, playing by his own rules. And his game could be murder.

Yummy, right?

The bit with the BDSM ranch and going undercover has a very Cherise Sinclair vibe. In fact, the plot sounds very familiar. But really, I love that series (except for the last one, *ahem*) so I'll totally take more. And it's published by Berkley, so you gotta give the traditional publishers credit for catching up!
