My review of Bewitching the Werewolf by Caroline Hanson from Julie Newberry

Author : Caroline Hanson
Fiction, Paranormal,
This review may contain spoilers
I got this free on Amazon
Summary: When witch for hire, Megan Stephens, is assigned to help the local werewolf pack leader find a mate, she thinks the job will be easy. Get in, get it up and get gone. But when she meets Zack Connor, she realizes her future might have a lot more dog jokes in it than she ever imagined.
The ReviewI loved this book, The fact that we have witches and werewolves in the same book was great, Zack is the alpha leader in this book, and if he doesn’t find a mate, the whole pack will go into disarray, this is where Megan is sent in, hired by his mother to try and sort out Zack, so he can attract his mate, Wolves mate for life and so it has to be just the right woman, Zack can tell when his mate is in the vicinity, he can sense his mate but does not realise who it is, So Megan has to find ways of getting the mate out in the open, so Zack can see her, he believes she is hiding in the office black, they even try doing a fire drill but he can’t tell which one she is, I love this story, an alpha wolf who would rather do his daily job than worry about wolf politics, Caroline’s writing was amusing, she put plenty of comical moments in this book, I had plenty of giggles and yet, it gave me a little insight to the workings of a wolf pack, 4/5

This anthology features stories from some of today’s freshest erotica romance authors. Bella Morte will leave your heart racing and your imagination running wild. Vampires, Genies, and Demon Hunters are the lovers of choice;
The ReviewOK, an anthology by various authors of paranormal genre’s, outstanding first anthology from Hot Ink Press, well worth the wait guys and gals, some were very short but oh so hot, we are talking extremely hot, I am Sorry but I can’t pick a favourite from this anthology, they were all great, I loved Josephine Ballowes Hells Apple, as well as Jade Mira’s Letter about Dom and Rue Volley’s Double gun dealer, I thought this was a bit tame of Rue knowing of some of her previous work, her Razor saga and Hunters Blood series, but it was a great story and would love to read more about Ava and her exploits, I would recommend this book to anyone who fancied a quick read as you could read one of them in minutes, ideal when you have not much time available, this is what I love about anthologies and they open you up to other authors you have never tried before, I will definitely be looking into getting some books from all of these authors, 5/5

My review of Beautiful Breakdown by Rue Volley from Julie Newberry

Author: Rue Volley
Fiction, Paranormal, Erotic
This review may contain spoilers
I was given this by the author for an honest review
Strictly over 18’s only
Summary: "Beautiful Breakdown", book four in the Hunter's Blood Series, is a dark and twisted turn in a vampiric tale of love, lust and the search for truth. Vanessa has been on her own for a year, struggling with memory glitches and her want for Hunter. She knows that without him she may give herself the chance she has been hoping for, a chance to feel. Will she finally feel the sunlight on her face? or place the last nail in the proverbial coffin of her mind. This series is 18+ and graphic in nature..
The ReviewOMG Rue has only gone and done it again, I love this series and this one is no exception, The sex was hot and steamy, but sadly only in the beginning really, there was none towards the end, this one is based more towards the thriller side of this series, I got confused, is she or isn’t she? Rue kept me on the edge of my seat with this one.Vanessa has suffered memory lapses for as long as she has been alive or dead as the case maybe, so now the question that I have to ask myself is which bit was real? I felt for Vanessa, she just had no way of knowing what was real and what wasn’t, she saw Hunter everywhere, as I am sure the rest of us would, Rue has written her in a very complex manner in this one, which really adds to Vanessa misery.Rue style of writing really has got me hooked on this series and I really cannot wait for book 5, Hurry up Rue Please, 5/5

Guest post by E.H. James, author of Laura
When I write short stories they always tend to be about something paranormal or horror, and they can range from the unusual to quite gory, if I feel the story requires it. I’m not sure why I keep going there when I think short story, although I did write one about time travel. My first love of writing is horror/paranormal, an influence of Stephen King. So these three short stories are about something paranormal.
In Laura you have George, a business man ready to retire after years of working and traveling to conduct business on his company’s behalf. He hates to fly so he has driven to see this last client. In a way, he appreciates the time alone to reflect and contemplate. Over the years he has seen some odd things in his travels, but what he experiences this night is beyond anything he could have imagined.
I don’t want to give it away so I won’t say too much. It’s late, it’s just stopped raining, he’s really tired, and he can’t wait to get home. A young girl is standing on the side of the road in a dress, and she is soaking wet. He stops to ask if she needs help, or a ride, and she accepts. From there things get progressively strange, and what finally happens makes him question all that is real.
In The Visitor’s Room, you have Amy, a 17-year-old patient in the psych ward of a hospital. She is biding her time while she waits to be released, as she encounters a number of strange fellow patients. But then strange is not a word you would use there, for what is strange to someone wandering the halls of a psych ward? Only the more she sees and hears, the more she begins to question her own sanity. Again, I don’t want to give away the ending so I should stop there.
In The Fifth Floor, you have Jeremy Brogan, a man in his early twenties newly hired to be night watchman at St. Michael’s Hospital. His job is to patrol the empty upper floors every hour of his shift. He assumes this will be easy money, even boring after a while. But a die-hard skeptic of anything paranormal is something he will not be by the time the night is through. You see, he knows St. Michaels reputation for being the most haunted hospital in the country, but he never gave any of that a serious thought. Maybe he’ll think twice next time someone tells him to watch his back…that is if he makes it through this night. Title: Laura

Laura – Blurb:
George had seen some pretty strange things over his lifetime, travelling those roads. But if he had thought he’d seen it all, he was sadly mistaken. For if he thought finding Laura alone, along some deserted roadside, in the middle of the night, was strange, then he had no idea that what was to follow would challenge the very boundaries of everything he’d ever known.
Laura – Excerpt:
The road was long and black before him, stretching out into the night. He hated these rural roads with no street lights, no homes, nothing but blackness pressing in around him. He strained to see the lines in the road, swallowed as they were by a heavy black haze.
But the rain had stopped now, and the wipers screeched in complaint as rubber drew across the dry windshield. He turned them off. The remaining water formed rivulets that ran together, making their way slowly up the glass.
At times like these, he wished he had gotten the radio fixed. He reached for the dial as though it would work this time, but all he got was a faint popping sound and some static. He turned it off and leaned back into his seat. “Damn.”
His annoyance wasn’t so much at the dead radio as at himself. He should have started sooner. He'd had one—no, two—drinks for the road. Now, here he was with two more hours of driving ahead and already it was well past midnight. He couldn't refuse a free drink, though. After all, he was retiring next week, and this was the last time he’d have to make a trip like this—all the way out here, into the middle of nowhere, holding the hand of one more client.
He drew his hand across his face as if to pull the weariness from his mind. Straining against the darkness, he thought he saw something in the headlights, a movement perhaps, maybe a reflection. He slowed down, staring out into the blackness. It was then that he saw her, standing on the side of the road. She turned toward him, staring into the headlights.

Title: The Visitor’s Room
Genre: Paranormal (Short Story)
Publisher: Musa Publishing

ISBN: 978-1-61937-138-5
Word count: 3,200
The Visitor’s Room - Blurb:
If Amy thought this day on the psych ward would be just like any other, she would be wrong.
For although everything seemed normal, well as normal as a place like that could be, there was something that was not quite right. That she couldn’t put her finger on it only made it all the more perplexing.
Don’t go asking questions you don’t want to know the answer to, especially when you're on a psych ward, and even you begin to question your sanity.
The Visitor’s Room - Excerpt:
“Today’s as good as any to get a shock treatment.”
Amy lifted her head from the pillow to see Larry standing at the foot of her bed.
She waited as he turned and shuffled out the door, then laid her head back down and closed her eyes. Sleep began to return.
And then he was back, the rhythmic swish of slippers on tile as he approached. “Today’s as good as any to get a shock treatment.”
She sighed and waited a moment. Silence. Melanie was sound asleep in the next bed, unaware of the intrusion.
“Today’s as good as any to get a shock treatment.”
“Larry!” she said, her eyes snapping open. “Shut up and get the hell out of here!”
Larry smiled half-heartedly, turned, and wandered again from the room. This time, his shadow disappeared out of the doorway completely.
That had done it. She was definitely awake now.
She looked at Melanie and frowned.
Dead to the world. Like I should be. That girl could sleep if a freight train came roaring through here. Then again, who knows what meds they have her on this week?
She climbed out of bed and pulled on her slippers — blue terry cloth, just like her bathrobe, so cheap, her toe poked through the seam.
She padded over to the window.
The sun was rising over the horizon, but the building directly across the street was still buried in darkness. She wasn’t normally awake this early — though someone did knock promptly at seven every morning to inform her breakfast was ready.
It was quiet though. Peaceful as a grave. She could get used to this.
And then she heard it: the sound of water dripping.
Stepping away from the window, she walked — as she had yesterday and the day before, and every day for the past three weeks — to the bathroom. The sound wasn’t louder there, but she couldn’t imagine where else it might be coming from. It wasn’t muffled, as it would have been inside the wall. No water came through the collapsible ceiling. It wasn’t raining. No drain pipes ran outside her window.
The sound was like Larry: it came and went and was irritating.
And now it was gone.

The Fifth Floor – Blurb
It’s a good thing Jeremy doesn’t believe in ghosts. Everything he sees and hears must have some kind of an explanation, right?
That he had to patrol the fifth floor was bad enough, but never in his wildest dreams did Jeremy think he would wind up in the basement. Now all he wants is out…only the hospital and its inhabitants may have other plans.
The Fifth Floor - Excerpt:
“Is this your first night?” the old man asked, standing up from the desk. Where he had been sitting, his head just barely could see—or be seen—over a counter that the desk sat behind. He walked round the counter toward Jeremy.
“Yes, it is.” Jeremy fidgeted with the buttons on his jacket. “I suppose it’s obvious. Isn’t it?” He tried to smile, pressing his lips into a grin. “Actually, I’ve never done anything like this before. I guess I’m a little nervous.”
The old man watched Jeremy for a moment, and then patted him on the shoulder. “You’ll be just fine.” The old man walked back behind the counter to retrieve his metal lunch pail from the desk.
“By the way, my name is Jeremy Brogan.” Jeremy reached over the counter offering his hand.
“Jake.” The old man grasped hold of Jeremy’s hand and gave it a firm shake. “Jake Edwards.”
“Say, do you mind me asking how long you’ve been working here?”
“It’ll be…forty-two years next month.”
Jeremy’s brows moved up on his forehead. “Forty-two years?”
“Yep.” Jake nodded, his gaze wandering. “And not once did I miss a day of work.”
Jeremy leaned his back against the counter. “That’s incredible.”
“Yeah, I guess it is.” Jake shrugged. “Never really thought about it.” He slid his hand over the smooth worn surface of the counter, as he walked back around to the front. “I can honestly say I’m going to miss it.”
“Miss it?”
“I’m retiring next week.” He paused as though thinking on what he just said. “I’ll tell ya, I’ve been looking forward to this day my whole life. Waiting and dreaming about what I’d do when that day came. But now that it’s here…it’s going to feel strange not coming in here every night.”

Interview with Liz Borino, author of Cutaway
1. If someone looked at your browsing history right now, what kind of things would we find?
Well, a combination of Facebook, Amazon, GoodReads, and Fetlife (the kinky Facebook, where I do research). On second thought, please don’t look at my browsing history. I don’t know what’s all there.
2. If you could write about any subject that is near and dear to your heart, what would it be and why?
I pretty much write what I want to. I’m an advocate for same sex relationships, thus in my fiction I feature strong (and sexy) M/M couples.
3. Do you have a favorite song, album, or playlist to write to?
No, it depends on my mood and what I listened to last. Though, I tend to write sex scenes to the Annie soundtrack. Why, I’m not sure, but I do.
4. What was the first thing you did after the debut of the first book you wrote?
When Expectations came out, my then-boyfriend took me out to dinner with another couple, and I had one drink.
Optional questions :)
Favorite Meal: Citrus Chicken
Favorite Drink (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) Sangria
Sweet or Salty snacks? Sweet
All time favorite movie
Best book to movie adaption A Home at the End of the World
Action- Amazon
When the bright lights and flashing cameras of Hollywood capture your every move, how can you fulfill your deepest desires? For Zack Greene, a formerly out-of-control actor, and Steve Michaels, the director who unearthed the heart of the man beneath the ego, it’s a constant struggle.
In public, Steve and Zack are the picture of professional partners. However, behind closed doors, their partnership is taken to a new level. They engage in a carefully constructed Dom/sub relationship that not only brings them pleasure, but keeps Zack from slipping back into his wild ways.
Their delicate balance is thrown askew when a producer on the show threatens to expose their lifestyle, while taking advantage of Zack in a moment of vulnerability. Will Steve be able to ease the pain and save the love they share? Or will they come apart when they need each other most?
*Warning: Light BDSM, D/s relationship, spanking, and hot m/m sex*
Cutaway- Amazon
Two years after Steve Michaels called, “Action!” on a new phase in his career as co-producer on the television show Ben’s Life, the lights go up again on his Dom/sub relationship with actor Zack Greene, but Hollywood cameras don’t always capture the truth.
Warning: Spanking, D/s relationship, light bondage, two men who can’t get enough of each other.

my review of Asking for Andre by Minx Malone from Julie Newberry

Author: Minx Malone
Fiction, Erotic Fiction, Romance,
This review may contain spoilers
Over 18's Only
Summary: Andre Lavin lives life in the fast lane and the pampered Italian playboy isn't used to being denied. Anything. Which makes his attraction to the shy, hauntingly beautiful Cassandra Michaels even more frustrating. She's unimpressed by his flashy lifestyle and his every attempt to get closer seems to drive her further away. Until he overhears her whispered wish for sex lessons. In Casey's experience, rich, handsome men don't fall for girls like her, but there's nothing to stop her from enjoying a fling. All she needs is one night to find out what she's been missing and then she can go back to her boring, predictable life. One night to touch and be touched, and she can leave with her heart intact.Or can she? Because although Andre is more than ready to teach her anything she asks, he isn't willing to let her go.
ReviewI loved this book, This is based on the novella of Casey’s night in, I believe that this is the bigger story between Andre and Casey, I love how Andre stood up to all who did not think Casey was suitable for him, all the meddling that they did, still did not alter his course, he wanted Casey and didn’t care what others said or did, Andre’s Mother is in this one, she is a piece of work, glad she isn’t my mother, Andre just wants to be with Casey but Mrs Lavin does not want that to happen, she is trying to marry him off to the right family, This is a classic fairy godmother story, with Anya as the fairy godmother, I loved her character, she made me laugh on more than occasion. In this book we got to hear more about how Andre felt towards Casey, the sex was hot, well worth a read, especially if you loved Casey’s night in, this is just the longer version, 5/5

ReviewSo I am going to try not to give too much away as I was given this ARC by the author, Thankyou Stephanie, I loved it, I thought when I started that it was gonna be too long, but to be honest, you can't take anything out of it, it needs every single page, I love a good romance and this book had it all, the twists and turns that Griffin had to go through to get the girl, alot of it his own doing, by the way. I laughed, I cried I love that in a book.We start with a drama, that would make most parents squirm in fear, thinking they were going to lose a child is enough to panic any parent and Clare is no exception, Clare is the female lead in this book, she was a complex character who had lost so much in her life, I like to think that I would be just like Clare if I had been what she had been through, her only thought being that of her daughter, Katie. Then along comes our hero Griffin, he has problems of his own, which helps build his relationship with Clare, he has his own daughter which gives him a whole other set of problems, her name is Brooke and she has problems of her own which help bring Griffin and Clare closer together, Griffin is your typical hero, Tall dark and handsome, you know the sort, but I think he was perfect in this book, it would not have been the same to have him any differently.I loved some of the other characters in the book, for instance Ophelia and Norm, there was a relationship that I would love to have, soul mates on every level, as well as business partners, Astrid and Emma, Clares very good friends, they provided me with so many laughs, they were brilliant, the perfect girls to put some laughter into the book.I loved the scene between mother and daughter discussing sex, I could imagine every parent being the same, I know I will when I have to go through it, lol, Stephanie wrote this book really well, the twists and turns she put in the book were brilliant, I would highly recommend this book.Anyway I hope I have not given too much away, and ladies who love romance, well I believe you will love this one from Stephanie, saying that I reckon some men would love it too.

my review of An Unforgettable Christmas by Trisha Wilson from Julie Newberry

Author: Trisha Wilson
Fiction, Contempory romance

He has a big family, but is still lonely. Can Chelsea let someone get close enough to love her through her sadness? Will Nick be able to trust someone enough to get close to himself and Jasmine?Through a lot of tears and laughter, with the help of close friends and family, take the journey with Chelsea and Nick as they experience an unforgettable Christmas.
Review This is a contempory romance, with the trials and tribulations of Chelsea Roberts, who lost all her family in a car accident on Christmas morning, it is coming up to the anniversary of that day, she moved away from her old place to help with the memories, but she has not told anyone what has happened to her, Estelle, her friendly elderly neighbour is worried over her, she is also a very good matchmaker, her nephew Nick has recently become a single father to baby Jasmine, his sister’s orphan, and so our story begins. I lurved the story, the fact that Chelsea had been through so much, bought tears to my eyes, Nick’s story was quite sad too, it was great that they found each other, there seemed to be a load of religious mentions, ie God, Praying, I did not think it distracted from the story but feel that someone who did not believe in it, might not enjoy the book. I liked it, I would give it 3.5/5, only because I loved the characters, Estelle was a great character, full of life and who brought them both together, but then she seemed to be fizzled out which was a real shame as I feel that she added quite a lot to the book in the beginning, I read this story in one day, the story did seem a little long winded in some area’s, but I feel this just added to it. I would for this to become a series, with the life’s of Zack, Jac and Mac, Nick’s brothers, they all seem like they have their own happy ending, They definitely have their own stories to tell Everyone loves a happy ending and this book definitely had that, I would recommend a box of tissues beside you when reading this book as it is a bit of a tearjerker, I thought so anyway.

my review of Afterlife by Willow Cross from Julie Newberry

Author: Willow Cross
Fiction, Paranormal,
This review may contain spoilers
I was given this for an honest review by the author
Summary: When a recently deceased ghost teams up with a vampire who has remained 17 for nearly 200 years, hilarity and chaos ensues. The day William met Angie, encountering the girl of his dreams was the last thing on his mind. But after a chance meeting in the woods, she seemed to be the only thing he thought about. If he'd known in the beginning that her beauty masked a darker secret and a penchant for finding trouble that was second to none, he might have chosen a different path in the Afterlife.
The ReviewOK this is the prequel to Birthright, from the Dark Gifts Series, but it can be read without the need to read Birthright, It is a great read, well worth getting, it gives the back story to Angie and how she met William and how they became lifelong or should I say deadlong friends, I couldn’t put it down until I had read it, There were some classic one liners and it was highly funny all the way through, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a great quick read, 5/5

my review of A Witches Tale by Rue Volley from Julie Newberry

Author: Rue Volley
Fiction, Paranormal,
This review may contain spoilers
Summary: "For a hundred years no one talked about it…all the people, mainly women, who had mysteriously disappeared in this picture perfect town nestled in between lush rolling hills and a lake that stretched out like the sea itself. No one wanted to remember that at one time the ignorance of not knowing was what fueled the mob, and a mob it was, when provoked by bible thumpers and boredom."Meet "Alexi", not your typical teenage girl, as she invites you into her world in the small town of "Ravenswood". Alexi has suffered a loss, but despite her hidden sadness, she manages to find a shining light in the darkness as she goes on an adventure of a lifetime. Alexi is soon to discover her witchy past and along with her best friend "Logan" and the mysterious new boy who moves to town, that of "Kyle Huntington" , things are set into motion and all of Ravenswood secrets are soon to be uncovered. "Stuff & Things and what boredom brings" is book one in "a witches tale" series by paranormal author Rue Volley (Blood & Light Vampire Series/ Razor Saga/Vampire Fetish series). It is sure to delight with its humour and unexpected twists and turns. This story embraces witchcraft and other paranormal what-not’s.
The ReviewWOW just WOW, Miss Rue has taken us on yet another of her fantastic journeys into her head, I love it, I want to move in there Please, I don’t mind pitching a tent, if that’s what it takes, What can I say about A Witches Tale, The characters were just perfect, The star for me was Alexi, she was so funny at times, but then had moments of total anguish, Logan her sidekick in crime, well he was so funny, he came across as a bit gay to start with, but then you realise his utter devotion to Alexi, I adored her dad and so wish mine was like that, he was very open and down with the kids , loved A Witches Tale, can you tell? One of my favourite parts was the chat about Condoms, every girl’s worst nightmare’s the “sex” chat, Rue made me cringe along with Alexi when her dad started going through it with her, I loved everything about this book, I got a little confused about the 100 years part at the beginning but hey, I read on and it was so worth it, it soon became apparent what that was all about, I got stuck in and never looked back, I really was not expecting Kyle to be what he was, I was so shocked, I knew he would be different but was so not expecting that, especially after reading other books Rue has written, I was expecting a vampire, I was not disappointed though, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh, a great adventure, to shed a tear or two, or generally just wants a great book, look no further, I would happily let my daughter read this and she is 12, I really want book 2 NOW Pretty Please with fairy dust on top, you cannot leave it like that, does he or doesn’t he? Will we ever find out, I give this book 5/5
