Fury of Desire – Book Blast + Giveaways!

I’m super excited about tomorrow when FURY OF DESIRE releases and becomes available everywhere! I can’t wait for Wick and J.J’s story to hit shelves. Particularly since so many of you have been waiting…very patiently!…for the next installment of the Dragonfury Series. And guess what? I’ve got some really cool stuff planned for you. FURY OF DESIRE: Excerpt #2
Happy Friday everyone! I’m so glad you stopped by today, because…oh yeah. We’re so very close now. Less than a week to go before Fury of Desire, the next book in the Dragonfury Series, releases on October 15th. I cannot tell you how excited I am to share this story with you. So I thought…why not celebrate by sharing another excerpt with you ahead of time? Last week, you read a snippet about Wick. This week, it’s all about J.J. and her battle to outsmart the prison guard who wants her dead.
By no means an easy proposition considering she’s injured, in the hospital, with the officer in question on guard duty.
I hope you enjoy the read!
FURY OF DESIRE – An excerpt:

J. J. wanted to sleep but was too afraid to close her eyes. People always got killed when they weren’t looking. Horror movies proved it. Life and fate followed the trend, attacking when least expected. So elementary, my dear Watson. Fear was a natural part of the equation. At least in her book.
Alertness equaled living to see another day.
An excellent strategy, considering Griggs stood just outside her door. In the hallway. Less than twenty feet away. Yakking it up with his fellow officer. Fighting a yawn, J. J. stared at the uniformed pair. The glass that stretched wall-to-wall across the front of her room afforded her an excellent view. Good in some respects. Awful in others. The clear partition allowed her to keep watch while she waited for Griggs to make his move: the inevitable approach, the next vile threat, the feel of his hands wrapped around her throat.
Nausea churned in the pit of her stomach.
The pitch and sway tossed a bad taste into her mouth. J. J. swallowed, telling herself not to be stupid. Griggs wouldn’t try anything with the nursing staff around. She frowned. Would he? Her gaze glued to him, the question circled. His back to her, shoulder blades planted on the glass wall, he laughed. The dog-eared magazine he held jumped in his hand. Big hands. Unkind hands. Owned by a man without conscience or scruples.
Unease turned into dread, heightening her fear.
She shivered. Unable to control it, the quiver rolled into a series of tremors. The handcuff around her wrist rattled against the bed rail. The soft sound cranked her tighter. Oh God. She was trapped. Completely vulnerable.
Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. Nowhere to call for help.
Fingertips gone numb, J. J. curled her free hand in the sheet. Cotton rasped against her palm, grounding her in the ultimate question. What to do . . . what to do? Dear God in heaven, she didn’t know. With the text message sent, she was out of options. Left to fend for herself, knowing that sooner or later Griggs would try something. His threats weren’t idle, neither was his nastiness, so . . . uh-huh. It was a no-brainer. The oily guard was slick with an extra helping of smart. If he wanted her dead, she’d end up that way.
Ice-cold. Toes pointed up. Laid out on a slab in the hospital morgue.
Wiping her sweaty palms on the blanket, she ran through alternatives. Death by strangulation. Murder by pillow suffocation. Overdose via whatever drug he could find. All were distinct possibilities with Griggs in the mix. Her heart picked up a beat, then another, rushing blood through her veins. The accompanying thump-thump made her chest ache as she glanced at her IV. Curled at the edges, strips of medical tape held the shunt in place, presenting the perfect delivery system . . .
For the perfect murder.

Dragon Tip Tuesday!
Date night and a Water Dragon warning on Dragon Tip Tuesday…
Tip #47 – As a general rule, Dragons don’t enjoy water. So when planning an evening out for two, error on the side of caution and avoid anything that involves a boat. Or a terrace cantilevered over an ocean. Trust me, it’ll go SO much better for you.
Unless, of course, you’ve hooked a Water Dragon, then by all means, reel him in with a romantic midnight cruise. The more ocean, the better, although…be warned. He might spend more time overboard, swimming circles around the ship, than seated in the chair across from you.

Fury of Desire: an excerpt
Happy Friday everyone!
I’m so glad you stopped by today, because…yes, we’re almost there! Just a week and a half to go! Fury of Desire, the next book in the Dragonfury Series, releases on October 15th, and I cannot tell you how excited I am to share this story with you. So I thought…why not celebrate by sharing an excerpt of the book with you ahead of time? This snippet occurs early on in the story and…sigh.
Poor Wick. He’s such a tortured soul, but so brave it breaks my heart. At the beginning of this scene, he’s headed into the Gridiron—a heavy metal nightclub—which is absolutely the last place he wants to be.
I hope you enjoy the read!
FURY OF DESIRE – An excerpt:

Biting down on a snarl, Wick crossed the threshold and stepped into Gridiron. His body rebelled, tensing up hard as the cloying stench of eau de nightclub closed in around him. The unconscious reaction ramped him into the danger zone, making his night vision spark. Trace energy flared, coming at him from all directions. He smothered a grimace. Jesus, he hated this place. Despised the strobe lights and Gothed-out décor. Couldn’t stand the spine-bending beat of death metal pumping through hidden speakers. Or the shuffle and press of too many bodies in too small a space.
Not that any of the humans ever came near him.
None of them were that stupid. Good thing too. In his current frame of mind, he might snap a few in half just to take the edge off. Most males would’ve made a beeline for the bar. Downed a drink to combat the distaste. Maybe even an entire bottle to soothe the aversion and set sail into oblivion. Not him. He never touched the stuff. Never would either.
Alcohol wasn’t his friend. And tonight? Neither was time.
Rolling his shoulders to loosen the tension, Wick turned left. Upscale VIP section, here he came. Humans scattered like bowling pins, doing what they did best . . . getting out of his way. The stairs took him up five treads onto a raised section that overlooked the dance floor. He didn’t bother to look. He knew what lay in that direction. Nothing but the sea of drug-fueled humans pretending they knew how to dance.
Strobe lights flashed overhead, scoring the black walls with bright color.
Wick squinted against the glare and slowed, scoping out the lounge, getting a lay of the land, counting the number of humans struggling to talk over the noise pollution. Wick huffed. Surprise, surprise. A full house again tonight . . . along with more females than he could count. Good pickings for Venom and the other warriors.
Not so hot for him.
Unease ghosted deep, pricking the nape of his neck and . . . shit. There went his hands again. Every time he walked into the place the fuckers went numb. A reaction to the stress? Probably. An early warning sign to get the hell out. Absolutely. Not that he could at the moment. With Venom riding his ass, he needed to see the nightmare though. The faster he finished, the quicker he’d get what he wanted . . . out of the club, back into the street and airborne.
He glanced at the door nearest him. The red glow of the Exit sign perched above it bled into the club, burning twin holes in his retinas. An escape hatch, one that led into the alley behind the club. Temptation grabbed hold, cranking his muscles tight. Thirty seconds. Tops. And he’d be gone.
Too bad cowardice wasn’t a condition he ever accepted.
Backing off—staying hungry—wasn’t an option. Not tonight with his boys at his back and a mission in front of him.

This Week on Dragon Tip Tuesday…
With FURY OF DESIRE‘s (Dragonfury series, book 4) release just 2 weeks away and FURY OF ICE, the second book in the Dragonfury series, this week’s giveaway on Goodreads, I thought I’d share a little more about frost dragons. So without furter ado, this week on Dragon Tip Tuesday…

2. Put him in charge of after hours cocktails. You’ll never want for ice in your glass or anything else when he’s around.
3. Let him give you the shivers. His frosty side will love you for it—all night long.
4. Set the ground rules on his cryogenic talents by whispering: Chill me…thrill me, just please don’t kill me. Then hold on tight. You’re in for an unforgettable ride.
So there you have it. Tuck those tips in your back pocket this winter. You might just get lucky!

Dragon Tip of the Week
This week on Dragon Tip Tuesday…
Tip #45 – With the last days of summer slipping away, we could all use a tall, refreshing cold one. Unfortunately, frost dragons are rare, and the only one I know is mated. A total kick in the pants, and when I grumbled about it, Rikar (Black Diamond’s resident frost dragon) offered some consolation and shared the recipe for his favorite cocktail…
Winter’s First Frost:
1 oz TY KU Sake
1 oz TY KU Soju
½ oz white chocolate liqueur
1 tsp sugar-free vanilla syrup
Combine all in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, pour, and enjoy a frosty cocktail for two!
