Addicted to You: Volumes 1-3 (BLURB)

AddictedBanner

Hi my lovelies,

Addicted to You is coming soon! I’m hoping to release it in early APRIL. That may change because I’m going back to full-time work tomorrow, but I’m going to do my best to have all my titles release on time. :)

In the meantime, enjoy the blurb for Addicted to You below:

PR magnet Carol Livingston doesn’t fall in love. That is until she runs into Heath Jones, her steamy one-night stand from college and the current owner of the illustrious bar named TAP. Seven years ago, she dragged him into a closet, ravished him, and walked away.

Heath Jones is exactly what Carol needs to avoid. Nice. Dependable. A true southern gentleman. The kind of guy you irrevocably fall in love with. Crazy, raw, unattached sex Carol can do, but there’s no just having sex with him. He wants more than just her body—he wants her heart. Carol knows it’s useless to try to forget him. She’s addicted, and she isn’t sure she’s going to be able to walk away a second time…

Heath Jones hasn’t been in a serious relationship since his wife died almost two years ago, and he has no plans to get involved with anyone new—especially not the demanding brunette he meets at his brother-in-law’s grand opening. That is until he realizes who she is. The beautiful party girl who stole his heart and left him naked in a closet.

Carol has never been far from his mind, but starting a full-fledged romance with a notorious party girl means walking a thin line—one that threatens to send his life spiraling backward. Heath needs stability in his life and most importantly, in his daughter’s life.

Heath isn’t sure he’s going to be able to kick his rekindled feelings for Carol. In fact, she’s one addiction he just might be willing to keep.

Hollywood Beauty

12646886_1026278820800097_6544954036741094731_o

This story has been haunting me for months and I’ve been working on it for just as long. I’m happy to say that I plan on releasing it May 7, 2016. Amazon & iBooks users, you can officially pre-order it today. For my readers who use Kobo & B&N, Hollywood Beauty will be available to purchase on May 7th. :)

Synopsis: I am not your characteristic Hollywood beauty. I’ve been a big girl all my life. My family has never let me forget it and Hollywood hasn’t either.

He is not the typical Hollywood heartthrob. Most actors would kill to have his success, but the envy ends there.

Declan Ravencraft is broken…scarred. And according to Hollywood—damaged goods.

I shouldn’t feel sorry for him. His words push me over the edge. His persistence drives me insane. He’s rude, mean, and not anyone I could imagine liking.

And yet, the impossible is happening.

I’m falling, and the question I keep asking myself is—how can someone so beautiful be so ugly inside?

Something New.

Over Christmas, I started working on a new serial within the Millionaire’s Row Series. It’s called Addicted to You. I’m really excited about this story because I’m tackling alcoholism, sexual shaming, and forgiveness.

My main character, Carol, is someone that I’ve grown to love. When I first wrote her into existence I had no intention of giving her her own story. I just wanted her to be Rebecca’s ballsy best friend, but I eventually realized that was a mistake. An alpha female like Carol could only have one heck of a story and I needed to write it.

So that’s what I’m up to.

I’m not sure how long it’s going to take me to finish. Maybe a month. Maybe two. Maybe three. Time will tell. One thing is for certain, I’m writing this one for me. :) In the end, if you guys love it then FANTASTIC. If you hate it, well it was for me anyway. ;)

When I wrote Bound to You, I wrote it for myself and you guys loved it. Trust me to write another compelling story.

Xx,

Vanessa

P.S. If things work out this month, I plan on publishing the final PART of Bound to You.

December 17, 2015

I’m taking a hiatus from social media.

For the past several months, I’ve thought about quitting writing. Giving up being an author and going back to a 9-5 job. To be honest, there are a multitude of reasons why I should and probably just as many reasons why I shouldn’t. The one that gets me the most is the simple fact that I used to love writing. I used to love being an author. Now, I dread it.

Unfortunately, there are people out there in the world who only seem to exist to make life even more stressful than it already is. Readers who constantly bombard me with how disappointed they are in me. Readers who feel entitled to tell me that I’m not doing good enough. Not writing fast enough. And giving too many excuses. Sadly, the message below isn’t the first of its kind that I’ve received from this particular reader.

12366300_606805892801009_1437479346926937647_n

I wish I could say that the positive messages I get overshadow the negative, but often times they don’t for me. At least not right now. Right now, I feel my most vulnerable…

Maybe I should just be blunt and tell these readers that I’ve pushed back releases because there are months that I don’t have the money to publish. That everyday I have to deal with the overwhelming stress of being the sole provider for our family. That I have to pretend that everything will be okay, when in reality I feel like the world is crumbling down around me. That writing has become a chore instead of the safe haven it once was.

Are any of these “excuses” good enough? Probably not…

So in an effort to keep my sanity, I’m pulling away from social media for a while. I’m going to take time to feel better. I’m going to take time to do what’s best for me and my family. And hopefully, eventually, I’ll be back to writing.

I want to find that passion I once had for putting words on a page. I want to go back to writing for me and for the readers who do still support me.

Xx,

Vanessa Booke

Mexico, here I come.

Lovelies,

In a few days, I will be leaving to Mexico for my sister’s wedding. The stress is on! I have SO many things to get done within the next few days. I do want you to know that I will be unavailable starting today through December 15th.

I’m hoping to release the final part of Bound to You before I leave for my trip (I leave in three days), so here’s hoping that everything works out. *Fingers crossed*. If for some reason it doesn’t happen, the final volume will not be released until I return on December 15th. I want to apologize in advance if this happens. I’m not sure how my wifi connection will be over in Mexico or if I’ll have much time to do business. It’s my first time being a Matron of Honor and I think I’ve definitely underestimated how stressful (although wonderful) this position is. LOL.

As a side note, I do want to thank those of you who have read the Bound to You series and who’ve stuck with me since the beginning. You guys are amazing! Thank you for being so patient. Really, thank you! I’m sure you’re tired of hearing me say this, but I’m still new at this being an author business. While I’ve learned SO much in the past year, I still going through my growing pains. While this process has been a bit of a learning curve for me, I can promise that 2016 is going to be a lot better. And a lot more structured.

I do hope that I can continue to write stories you guys enjoy. Thank you for taking a chance on me.

P.S. I do want to repeat that this is Nicholas & Rebecca’s final volume. After PART 2, I will be moving on to new characters. As sad as that is, I’m also happy. They’re in a good place in their lives and that’s all I could ever really ask for.

Bound to You: Volume 4 – Pre-orders Cancelled (!) – Coming Early!

Hey lovelies,

I’m messaging you to let you know that I’m publishing Bound to You: Volume 4 a few days early. Unfortunately, Amazon cancelled all the pre-orders for this volume. I’m not sure what the hell is going on over there, but I’m not happy about it. Fortunately, that does mean that I can publish the book EARLY, so I will be uploading it tomorrow across ALL platforms (Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, and B&N).

The other important surprise I wanted to announce is that Nicholas & Rebecca’s wedding story will be published in two volumes instead of one. I could’ve cut the fourth volume to fit within one novella, but I felt like I was taking a lot away from the fun of their story. So the good news is you’ll be seeing MORE of Nicholas & Rebecca.

I will be publishing Bound to You: Volume 4 within the next day! My plan is to then publish Bound to You: Volume 5 the second week of November. I hope this is good news for the majority of you. While I wanted to release one single novella, this story turned out to be a lot bigger than I imagined.

Thank you guys for sticking with me! I hope you guys enjoy this next installment of Nicholas & Rebecca’s story.

Xx,

Vanessa Booke

September 30, 2015

Dear Readers, I hear you.

Re-posted From Facebook:

Dear lovelies,

I’ve been getting a lot of messages & nasty comments about changing dates for my titles. I understand your frustration. I hear your words, but saying things like “I’m never reading your stuff again” doesn’t make me want to release any of my stories faster. In fact, it makes me want to do the OPPOSITE. While I do write these stories for fans, I mostly write them for ME. That may surprise some of you, but I love my characters and I love writing. Whether I get paid or not. Whether anyone reads my stories or not.

Yes, unfortunately I am human. I make errors and things happen in my life that get in the way of my books. I may not talk about my private life on here, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes right now. No, I’m not going to write a rant post about how you should feel sorry for me, but what I will tell you is that I’m not a robot. As much as I think I would be a bad ass version of terminator, I’m not. I have feelings. Just like you. If you’re disappointed in me, I’m truly sorry. If I had a New Year’s Resolution, it would be that I could bring you the best stories ever & release them on time.

What I can promise you is that I’m making changes. I will be stepping away from Facebook after the release of Bound to You: Volume 4 and canceling all other pre-orders listed. I will only announce a release when I have a final finished product in my hand. While I thought giving fans a timeline for titles helped, it has only hurt and caused disappointment. That needs to change.

If you have questions or concerns, please message or email me at VanessaBooke@gmail.com. As for any future stories? They’re all on hold for now. Thank you.

Xx,

Vanessa

P.S. I do want to thank those of you who continue to support me and who continue to show overflowing patience for me. Thank you for reading my stories and for loving them. For putting up with my craziness and for asking me to write more. I’m sorry if this post comes off negative, I truly don’t mean it to be. It’s just time to turn over a new leaf. It’s time for some positive change.
