Review for Three and guest blog at Maria-Claire Payne's

Miz Love and her crew were kind enough to review Three, and much to my joy Miz Menage wrote a lovely piece about the novella.

Verdict: A wonderful tale where a man jumps in with both feet and enjoys what could be a one-night affair with no regrets and no expectations. Even though the thought of them all being together permanently crosses Owen's mind, he doesn't think the offer of sex gives him the right to that. He's an exceptional man, and the maturity in him is wonderfully explored. You can see from the way he acts he's lived a bit, has learned a few lessons. He's lovely.

I'm also very proud to be a guest at the blog of Maria-Claire Payne. She's holding an extended New Years party with a new guest every day. You can even win a $100 Total E-Bound gift certificate. So it's definitely worth to take a look.

Three on sale today

Even a happy single thirty-something, living mainly through his intellect, has certain needs. They're met by an open-minded, adventurous young gay couple more than willing to invite him to their bed.

A small teaser:

He wasn't sure if what they were doing should be called dancing, but perhaps it actually brought dancing back to its original meaning.

And words like 'a fun way of getting some healthy exercise' didn't cross his mind. This was a blatant mating ritual, a primitive way of letting each other know they were willing and ready to fuck.

Davin's back was plastered against Sebastian's front, or perhaps Sebastian's front was plastered against Davin's back. Both moved in perfect harmony to the music. The slightly taller man was grinding his crotch along the thinly covered arse of the shorter one, meanwhile showering the shorter man's head with butterfly kisses. He raked his teeth over his boyfriend's earlobe, resulting in a soft, sweet moan from Davin, who had his eyes half-closed and his lips slightly parted. Owen doubted he was even aware of his surroundings.

Sebastian, on the other hand, looked straight at Owen, challenging him in a way that was quite open to more than one interpretation. That look, as much as Davin's obviously exposed sexual need, went straight to Owen's cock, bypassing all rational thoughts.

Sebastian travelled one hand slowly downwards until his long fingers rested beside his clearly outlined erection, but kept the other possessively around Davin's middle. He traced the bulge of his lover's hard-on with his thumb, whispering into Davin's ear. Davin blushed and nodded in agreement to the words only he could hear.

Owen felt he was being drawn into an unpredictable situation, but couldn't deny he was totally mesmerised by the perverse beauty of what was happening between the three of them. Sebastian dancing—for lack of a better word—with Davin, and he, Owen Bartlett, the one who couldn't help but feel left out. No matter how much Davin and Sebastian seemed to direct their teasing in his direction, they were still one very-much-in-love couple and he was one single man. Later he would almost certainly get the stimulation for his one-handed activities from imagining all the possible combinations, with him in the roles of both spectator and participant… But for now he was sitting and watching, wishing he was somewhere else as well as hoping this would never end.

Curious about what happens next? Today my erotic-romantic m/m/m novella Three went on sale with Total E-Bound.

Amber Kell birthday celebration story part 9

Please welcome Amber Kell as my guest. Amber celebrates her birthday this month by doing all kinds of fun stuff, including publishing a free story in 30 parts. This is part nine of Accidental Alpha. Enjoy!

Want to know about the other parts of this story? Go here.

Accidental Alpha – Part #9

"What do you mean I've been here two weeks? I…" He had a job, a roommate and his brother would be climbing the walls. "I have to get home. Brian must be going insane."

Fenris growled. "Who's Brian?"

Before he could explain he had a lap full of hot dark-haired man.

"Um."

Distracted by the gorgeous man sliding across his crotch he didn't get a chance to explain before Fenris captured his lips in a kiss that promised unending pleasure.

"If you're going to fuck at the table could you pass the bacon," Paul's voice cut through Stanley's haze of lust.

Sliding a hand through Fenris' hair he reluctantly pulled the other man away. "I need to get home."

"You are home," Fenris said. The look in the other man's eyes told Stanley that for the shifter life was just that simple.

"I have a job, family and friends I have to get back too."

"What kind of friends?" Fenris' eyes narrowed. Did his teeth look a little sharper?

"Nothing you need to worry about," Stanley assured him. Stroking Fenris' back he tried to soothe the agitated man.

"What do you know about your family?" Sandy asked.

It took effort to tear his eyes away from Fenris. "Go sit down." He nudged the other man away so he could concentrate on what Sandy had to say. With a smile Fenris handed him another fork.

"I'm adopted."

"Oh," Sandy's disappointed expression made Stanley want to make it up to her but what could he do? He couldn't change the facts of his life to suit her.

Stanley shrugged but in the back of his head he was wondering what the hell he was going to tell his boss. Well it probably wouldn't matter since he more than likely no longer had a job.

Standing up he faced the trio. "Thanks so much for taking care of me but I've got to get home."

Paul threw back his head and laughed. "And do what? You can't just walk back into your old life and pretend nothing happened. The first time you growl at someone you'll probably be arrested. Besides as an alpha you have responsibilities."

"What responsibilities. So far I've been attacked, transformed and probably lost my job. Now you're telling me I owe you something?"

"What about Fenris? Now that you claimed him are you going to toss him aside?" Paul sneered at him making Stanley want to smack the guy. He had to purposely relax his fists.

Looking over at Fenris he saw the adoration and longing in the other man's eyes.

"I'll take Fenris with me." What the hell he was going to do with the guy he didn't know but he couldn't just leave him there. Fenris' smile warmed him from the inside out.

Paul laughed but it wasn't a happy sound. "You don't get to pick and choose your pack. You get whoever is assigned to you. You have to wait for the Overseer to tell you who belongs."

Anger rushed through Stanley at the thought of someone else telling him what he needed to do. The tips of his fingers ached. Fenris rushed over and wrapped himself around Stanley. "Breathe."

Immediately he calmed under Fenris' touch. Stanley gave a rough laugh. "I can't just take you with me everywhere."

"You'll learn control." Fenris slid his arms around Stanley. "The first few changes are the worst."

"I still need to get home." He pulled out of Fenris' arms but entwined the fingers of his right hand with Fenris' left. "Come with me and you can tell me everything I need to know."

"Okay."

Before the pair took more than a few steps the doorbell rang.

Fenris stiffened beside him. "The Overseer is here."

Sandy rushed to answer the door while Fenris, Stanley and even Paul stayed in place. They didn't speak as they listened to the door open and close, but a familiar voice had Stanley squeezing Fenris' hand in a tight grip. Taking a deep breath he waited until the man emerged from the hallway.

"Hello father," Stanley greeted the man. What were the chances that the man who adopted Stanley at the age of five just happened to be the Overseer of the werewolves? From the lack of surprise on Dr. Leon Brown's face, Stanley had a feeling his attack wasn't quite the accident everyone claimed.

Q and A Amy Valenti

I'm very happy to welcome Amy Valenti as my guest. She will be answering some questions about her exciting (and I'm not just talking about the erotica) recently published novel Dominance and Deception.

Welcome, Amy!

Dominance and Deception is a story of kinky love between colleagues, interlaced with betrayals, crime and danger. The protagonists are Faye Tate, a playful forensic scientist, and Detective Zach Pierce, a cop with his fair share of enemies. The story follows the challenges they face as they embark upon a D/s relationship, and when Faye is threatened, Zach has to make some tough choices to save her life.

Q: What and/or who inspired you to create Faye Tate?

She was definitely inspired by Pauley Perrette's character, Abby, in the TV show NCIS. I'm not going to try and deny that! She might not dress Goth or wear pigtails like Abby does, but there's a similarity there. Faye also has a mischievous streak a mile wide, which seems to be a feature most of my protagonists share. I'm not into writing super-serious characters – you can only have so much angst before you have to lighten the mood a little!

Q:  Did you enjoy writing the crime plot of Dominance and Deception more, or the BDSM scenes? Or did one follow organically from the other? And if so, what came first?

I followed quite a strange process when I wrote the novel. It was intended to be a series of shorter stories, but my editor talked me into making it a novel, so I had a lot of re-writing to do, especially since it was in present tense originally! But each story was written very much with the BDSM plotline centric. The crime just kind of slotted in around that.

Q:  Would you mind sharing a few of your favourite quotes from Dominance and Deception?

Not at all! A lot of my favourite bits would spoil the plot, but I'll try and pick out some of the less spoilery excerpts:

Faye's phone rang, the unexpected sound disorientating us both. She groaned, scowling at the offending object as if it was sentient.

"Damn it! Not now!" She tugged expectantly at her handcuffs. "Okay, let me out of these."

I stood there, impassive, and she rolled her eyes.

"Zach, seriously. Someone's probably dead and we'll have to go to work."

I knew she was right, but that didn't mean I had to like it. Dropping the crop and stepping over the tangle of our clothing, I crossed to the dresser and checked the caller ID. Sure enough, it was Santoro. For a brief moment, I entertained the irrational thought of firing him, but it passed.

Without releasing Faye from her bonds, I hit the speakerphone button to answer the call.

Taking a deep breath to steady her breathing, she spoke. "Santoro, this better be good. I'm a little tied up right now."

As I stifled a chuckle, Santoro replied, "I know, it's really late and I'm sorry. But we have a problem. There's been a triple homicide, and Pierce isn't answering his cell. His home phone's off the hook."

I didn't remember taking my home phone off the hook, but I'd left my cell phone switched off in the car, which was parked outside Faye's place.

"He probably let the battery run down again," she told Santoro. "I'll stop by his place on the way into work, okay?"

"Are you sure? It's not out of your way?"

"I'm sure. You get going, and I will handle Pierce." She winked at me.

"You're risking an awful lot, here," I murmured, quietly enough that the cell phone wouldn't pick it up.

"Relax," she mouthed back.

"That'd really help," Santoro said wearily. "Thanks."

"So what do I tell Pierce when I see him?" Faye asked.

Silently, I sat on the edge of the bed. Faye's eyes widened, and she shook her head at me, though I could tell her heart wasn't really in the denial.

As Santoro began to outline the case, his tinny voice just barely audible in the quiet of Faye's bedroom, I trailed light kisses over her breasts and stomach. When I glanced up, I could see she wasn't taking in anything Santoro was saying. Her eyes were closed, and a tiny smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

"…Faye?" Santoro's voice brought us both down to earth.

"Hmmm?" she replied languorously, before shaking herself out of it. "Sorry, what?"

Santoro laughed. "Oh, Jeez… When you say you're tied up, you really mean that literally, don't you?"

***

When Pierce walked back in, a towel around his waist and his hair damp and tousled, I purred appreciatively.

He glanced over at me, then did a double-take, eyeing me in the same way I was looking at him.

"Hi."

"Hey there, detective."

The shower seemed to have relaxed him a little, and he gave me a slow smile. "Wouldn't happen to know where all my razors are, by any chance?"

Innocently, I pointed to the top of the dresser, where I'd placed the items in question.        He looked from me to them, and back again. "Go on. I'll bite."

"Oh, really?" I walked around him in a seductive circle, looking him up and down. "Then have a seat."

He sat on the edge of the bed and waited. I decided to leave the towel around his waist for now, and instead picked up the shaving cream from the dresser, sauntered over to him and straddled his waist.

He slid his hands up my stockinged thighs before creeping them around to cradle my ass.

"You can be very strange, you know that?"

I scowled at him. "Did I ask you to speak, detective?"

"Didn't ask me not to," he pointed out, and I granted him that with a shrug.

"I'm asking you not to now."

His eyes wandered downwards from my face in a slow exploration, but he didn't speak. Satisfied, I got to work with the shaving foam, keeping my touches so deliberate they were almost foreplay.

Once I had finished, I got up from his lap and reached over into my bag for the pièce de résistance of my little scene.

His eyebrows shot up as I flicked open the old-fashioned straight razor, but he kept his silence admirably. I almost called him a 'good boy', but he hadn't been too happy about being addressed that way last time.

"I'll ask you again, detective. Do you trust me?"

Q:  How long did it take you to write your novel? You had it all plotted out, or did you follow where the story and the characters would take you?

Since it was originally a series of short stories, it was a bit of an add-them-all-together endeavour. I first started writing them in 2007, and completed the last one in 2010. Add in the rewrites, and we're talking the best part of four years! I'm one of those writers who doesn't do much planning, so I pretty much went wherever the story dragged me. ;)

Q: Would you like to share a little bit about your next project?

Sure! I'm working on a series called Club Alterna at the moment. I have four books planned out, and I've just about finished two of them. Each book will follow one fetish club's patron as they find someone to love, and they're all mainly based in the club. You can find out more here: http://amyvalenti.wordpress.com/club-...

I also have releases coming out throughout the remainder of the year: Battle of Thrills on September 26th, Always the Quiet Ones on October 31st, Of Sawdust and Seduction on December 9th and Shocked on December 19th. You can get up to date news on my blog: http://amyvalenti.wordpress.com/

Q and A with Paige Turner

It is a great pleasure to welcome Paige Turner. Her novella Temporary Trouble has just been published by Total E-Bound and that's a great opportunity to ask some questions.

Welcome, Paige!

Please tell a bit about yourself and about Temporary Trouble. Just a few words to get to know the writer and the book.

Temporary Trouble is part of Total-E-Bound's Tempting Temps collection, one of six stories about office hotties getting down to business. In Temporary Trouble, temps Ben and Aaron play practical jokes on their office mates to get them through the dull work day…until their boss catches Ben on the photocopier with his trousers down and puts her own spin on the idea of a "disciplinary meeting".

Was it solely lively imagination that formed the story idea for Temporary Trouble, or perhaps (even a little bit) something else as well?

It's a great concept for a collection, and all sorts of sexy scenarios sprang to mind right away. Hot young things all buttoned up in business suits. All sorts of intriguing power dynamics. Sex in the stationery cupboard or on the boss's desk. Naughty emails and office gossip…

Q: What is it that makes you want to write? And was romance/erotica something you've always been writing, you just didn't know what it was called, or a conscious choice?

I've always made up stories, for as long as I can remember, and I've written in all sorts of different genres. Erotic romance is a great niche for me, because it's so varied, with so many different kinds of story to play around with. It can make you laugh or make you cry, or have you checking under the bed for things that go bump in the night. But in the end, the characters always live happily ever after!

I know it's hard to choose between the characters you created, but who would you like to have dinner with and why?

There's an elderly dinosaur hunter in my upcoming Victorian historical, Bone Idol. He's a bit scatty and would probably turn up two hours late or accidentally dip his tie in the soup, but I think he'd be a fascinating dinner companion!

From a soft smile to roaring laughter: we all love a bit of humour in our reading and writing material. You consciously use humour in your stories, or you just write and when you read it back, you suddenly realise a particular scene or dialogue makes you laugh?

I think humour is naturally part of my writing voice. Even if I'm writing something quite bleak, I have a tendency to use whimsical turns of phrase. And even in the darkest stories, moments of levity can be an effective counterpoint to the tension.

What do you consider the most erotic moment in Temporary Trouble? (without spoiling too much of the story, of course)

Well, naughty boys have to be punished, and Aaron and Ben have been very naughty boys indeed… Perhaps a sound spanking will teach them a lesson?
