It’s a natural for Gloria Zachgo to write stories with Kansas settings. She grew up on a farm in Lincoln County, where she attended one of the last one-room schoolhouses in the country. After graduating from Brown Mackie Business School, she married her high school sweetheart.
Living out of state for several years, Gloria and her husband moved back to their Kansas roots. While their children were young, she ran a small business out of their home. It was when her children left the nest, that she pursued a lifelong dream and took various art lessons.

Thanks for asking, Chris.

Several people have asked me to write the sequel for Never Waste Tears. So, I'm happy to say I'm working on it.

As far as when it will be published--I'd love to tell you it will be soon--but I've only started, and unfortunately, I'm like the chef that keeps sampling to see if he has the right ingredients.

When I was a child, I lived in the area that I wrote about in Never Waste Tears. I re-visited that area when I wrote the book. But if I could travel back in time I know I would see a different landscape - without the trees and buildings that are there today. Even the creek where Carl, Hannah, Nathan, Becca, and Sarah lived was straightened by my own grandfather. (less)

SOMEWHERE IN KANSAS

Sunday, Ron and I traveled to the area where we were raised in rural Kansas. The countryside changes a little every time we journey back to our roots. Even though I’ve traveled that route many times, I am amazed at those changes.
Contrary to the Kansas reputation of being nothing but flatlands, traveling west on I-70 paints a different picture. As we sped along one of the mo Read more of this blog post »
