#Audiobook Rock Star Ex by @JewelQuinlan

Rock Star Ex is Now Available in Audiobook Version
You can now find it on Audible , Amazon and iTunesWritten by: Jewel QuinlanListening Time: 3 hrs and 6mnNarrated by: Josh Goodman
Social media consultant, Eve Everett, is less than thrilled when her business partner hooks them up with a job covering celebrity rock band Arsenal.  Their new lead singer, Devon Quinn, is the man who broke her heart five years ago.  But there’s no way Eve can turn down the assignment. It’s the big break their fledgling company needs.
To boost Arsenal’s social media presence the band’s manager wants intimate coverage, especially of Devon,  which means traveling with the band  in their tour bus while they promote their new album.  It’s not long before Devon tries to rehash the past but Eve would rather leave it buried where it is.
When Eve is asked to be part of a music video, she decides it’s a great opportunity to reap some revenge by showing Devon what he’s missing. But soon she’s the one losing control. Will Devon once again claim her heart as well as her body?
Excerpt:
“It’s good to see you again, Eve,” he said softly so the others wouldn’t pick up on it.  He knew she wouldn’t want to hear it.  It couldn’t be helped, but it just had to be said.               Her head snapped up, eyes wide.               “That’s what I wanted to say the other night, but you didn’t give me a chance.”               Big mistake.                 Her eyes narrowed.  “I didn’t give you a chance?  Then I’d say we’re even.”               “Look, Eve, things didn’t happen the way you’re thinking.  It wasn’t like that.”  He set the bottom of Tommy’s guitar on the floor, his hand on the neck, and leaned closer in to talk to her.               “The way I’m thinking?” she repeated.  Standing up straight, she stuck one foot out to the side and said in a low hiss, “Look, Devon, the facts are the facts.  You left and I never heard from you again.  Not once.  It has nothing to do with the way I’m thinking.”                 He tensed.  It was happening again.  She was misunderstanding him.  “No, look, that’s not what I mean, okay?”               “Oh, then what do you mean?”  She cocked her head at him and waited.               “It’s…it was hard on the road, to keep in touch with anyone, for a lot of reasons.  You don’t know what it was like.  I mean we were bouncing around from place to place, driving for long periods of time and then having to work until really late at night.  It was pretty much impossible to communicate.  Besides, you had no answering machine back then, remember?”               She visibly puffed up.  “I see, so it’s my fault you couldn’t communicate with me?”               “I’m not saying it was anyone’s fault, Eve.  Just that there was no way to call.”  He felt relieved.  He had finally been able to tell her, to explain.  Maybe now she would understand.  Well, when she calmed down at least.               “And you couldn’t write a letter?”   She spoke quietly but the words dripped acid.                 She had him there.  Even though she was several inches shorter he suddenly felt very small.  He looked down and stuck a hand in his pocket, not knowing what to say.  That was an even more complicated topic.               Her cold eyes were on him.  The silence stretched on for another moment.  Before he could gather any other words to try to explain she turned and headed back up front, her ponytail slapping him in the face as she went.

Sled Thru the Never-Ending Winter w/ #Backlist Mr. Forever @MusaPublishing

I grew up in a house that's literally built into the side of a hill in northern Illinois.  In the winter, we would sled down one of three courses -- the "bunny" hill in front of our house, the big hill across the sandy creek from the house, or the "jump run" alongside the house.  The "jump" on this last hill had an upward curve in the middle that gave us just enough lift to bruise our backsides on the landing after we caught air and occasionally to throw us off our sleds.  All this has been great fodder for those "remember when ..." family stories.  In recent years, we've resurrected the old sled runs for my children to make memories on, as well.
I'd never considered using this family fun in a book.  Then stuffy marriage therapist Caleb Paden showed up on Olivia's Wells doorstep in the middle of a snowstorm.  He desperately needed someone to teach him how to have a little fun.  Olivia and her six-year-old son were just the people for the job.  And what could be more fun in the snow than sledding?  As far as I'm concerned -- not a thing!
Here is Caleb's first experience sledding in Mr. Forever :
“You’re not scared, are you?” Austin's lips curled in a sneer.
“Of course not.” But to prove it, Caleb had to sit down and trust his life to a flimsy piece of plastic. He could do this. As her guest, Olivia would stop him from doing anything that wasn’t completely safe. He hoped.
He sat down gingerly and grasped the sides of the plastic disc. Austin shoved on his shoulders.
Olivia shouted something about steering, but it was too late. He was already flying down the hill toward a group of trees. He was gaining speed. The trees were getting closer. He had to stop. He had to get off this thing. Now.
He planted his feet on the ground in front of him. They stopped, but the sled carried the rest of his momentum forward. The world became a white blur of upside-down trees as he tumbled head-over-heels down the hill. After what seemed like an eternity of hurtling without control over the speed or direction of his body, he came to a rest face first in the snow. Extremely cold snow.

Top 7 Travel Destinations for Amazing Scenery and Fitness Workouts

Courtesy of Becca Sanders, heroine of Love Him or Leave Him
Shipwreck (Navagio) Beach – Zakynthos Island – Greece: On top of my bucket list is to hang out on a beach in Greece. There are so many gorgeous ones to choose from, but this one is absolutely awesome. I can snorkel from cave to cave in the crystal clear waters, explore a shipwreck on the beach (hence the name), and of course, relax with plenty of sunscreen at the end of the day.
Walk Rome: Back in a high school, Connor and I always planned to go to Italy someday. A three hour walking tour of the Colosseum, ancient Rome and the Arch of Constantine in the morning followed by three more hours touring Piazza Di Spagna, Rome’s center, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona in the afternoon will hit a lot of the sights. After all that walking, I’ll be working out a deal with Connor to trading foot massages at the end of the day.
Kayak through the Grand Canyon: Not just a one day float trip. I’m looking at a two week, 200 mile trip down the Colorado River in class 4 rapids. This will give my arms a serious workout and test my endurance, while I take in the amazing panoramic views and travel through the deepest part of the Canyon.
Rock Climbing Mt. Arapiles in Australia:  This week-long trip offers some of the best rock climbing in Australia. I’ll use muscles I didn’t know I had on this cliff line jutting out from the flat Wimmera Plains of North Western Victoria.
While we’re over on that side of the world, let’s check out caving in New Zealand: In the North Island, Waitomo Caves can be explored by walking, floating (known as black water rafting), and rappelling, climbing and squeezing. Oh yeah, those muscles I didn’t know I had are going to come in handy.
Zip-line in Thailand: Act like a monkey (or rather a gibbon) in the Mae Kompong rainforest. Over three hours I can zip between platforms, sky bridges and lowering stations, moving through different layers of the rainforest canopy, eye level with the birds. It seems like I’m just hanging on for the ride on a zip-line, but I plan to work my core muscles to keep my body erect and enjoy the best view!
Hike to Mt. Everest base camp, Nepal: Seriously, if I’m going to have a list of international excursions that test fitness and adventure limits, Mt. Everest has to be on the list. I can walk along the trail the Dalai Lama called “the steps to heaven” as I spend two weeks of strenuous hiking going from 9,400 foot elevation to 17,598 feet. I better talk Connor into coming with me because it definitely sounds like I’m going to need a partner to trade serious foot massages with at the end of the day.

Killing Zombies is Easy according to @samcheever

Killing Zombies is Easy – It Takes a Real Man to Refrain – Or does it?

Guest post by Sam Cheever

Okay, I’ll admit it, where zombies are concerned, I’m kind of blood thirsty. To me, those rotting, nasty things are like cockroaches. If you saw a cockroach in your kitchen, you wouldn’t let it live just because it scurried behind the dishes in the cabinet and you couldn’t see it anymore. Would you?Like millions of other people, I’m a huge fan of the TV series, The Walking Dead. I love the show, though it’s so intense thereare times I’m just not up to watching. I mean, isn’t it bad enough that they’re being chased and eaten by hoards of nasty zombies…the writers had to give them a killer bug too? And mean people who keep trying to kill them? Seriously? But I digress. What I really wanted to talk about was all the zombies they see and don’t kill. Really? I know there are lots of them, but you can’t stop killing them just because there are so many! If I were living in that prison, I’d spend every waking moment sticking sharp objects through the monsters’ brains. Yeah, I’m vindictive that way. But this letting them live crap always comes back to bite our heroes in the ass, literally.Playing Devil’s Advocate though, what if my view on this is wrong? Should you kill something or someone just because they/it might try to kill you later? Hmm My hero, Audie Kord, in the soon to be released Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic, is a Sorceri warrior. His mission is to find and exterminate all the creatures a certain black witch has created through death magic. He starts his mission thinking his job is black and white. See a zombie, kill a zombie. No gray area. But then he meets Yeira. Yeira’s a zombie…sort of…and she was created/enhanced by the black witch. But she’s beautiful and smart and, whenever he lays eyes on her, Audie’s body tightens with sexual heat. He’s supposed to kill her. His brain tells him he should, because it’s what he does and she’s his target. But his heart stays his hand. Yeira is nothing like he expects her to be and, with his awareness of her as a living, breathing human being, he finds himself reassessing both his perspective of the creatures he hunts, and his opinion of Yeira herself.Audie saw a zombie and didn’t immediately kill her. Because of this restrainthe might find love. And he might learn something about the creatures that he never would have learned if he’d done what he was trained to do.So, dang it! I guess it might make sense not to just perform wholesale slaughter of zombies, because they’re there. But I still think the cast of TWD needs flame throwers, or bombs. I mean, come on. One at a time? Really? There’s like billions of the nasty things. Kill those suckers! Rip off their heads!! Oops, sorry. I guess I need a little more convincing. Look for Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic on March 8th! In the meantime, here’s a taste: A grand passion in an apocalyptic world. A love beyond reason and without boundaries. He’s a warrior, a bounty hunter in a world turned upside down. She’s a target, a creature of dark magic. His job is simple. Kill the target. Her goal is more complex. She must stay alive until she finds and destroys the source of death magic staining the twenty worlds. But the passion burning within them may be their undoing. It’s going to take an apocalyptic will to overcome the distraction their bodies are creating…and not lose themselves in the process.Book page with excerpt
Watch the video5 stars - Venus Cahill Reviews: “This story jumps right into the action and never lets up! Yeira is a kick-butt heroine but she's still easy to relate to, which was surprising considering her amazingly unique situation. Kord is the ultimate Alpha and he took my breath away. He's masculine and imposing and while he is steadfast and dependable he is also a good man at heart. The setting becomes almost a third lead character and I loved it. I cannot wait to read more stories about the fabulous world this author has created. I will freely admit to being a huge fan of this author, I love her Honeybun series but I was a little apprehensive of reading an apocalyptic story as I rarely enjoy them but this one was a definite exception not only did I thoroughly enjoy it I want more!”EXCERPT“There are ten reborns in that hillside lair.”Audie pulled his sword so quickly the woman’s bright blue gaze widened slightly with alarm. “Let’s go kill them.”Instead of moving, Yeira just stared up at him, looking eminently disappointed. When she didn’t move, Audie placed the tip of his sword in the dirt at his feet and leaned on it. “What?”“Have you even been listening to me?”He frowned. “Hanging on every word, why?”“You remember the part about my goal? Wherein I don’t kill everything that moves but instead try to find Edwige?”She sounded so much like his legal counsel Audie couldn’t help grinning. She certainly didn’t look like any lawyer he’d ever met. “Vaguely.”She turned on her heel and strode away, her feet hitting the dry, scratchy-sounding grass much harder than they needed to.Feeling just a tiny bit proud of himself for getting under her skin, Audie started after her. The good feeling didn’t last long. As soon as he caught up she glanced at him and asked. “So how good are you at restrictive magics?”Audie worked hard not to show his panic. “I’m much better at whacking things than restraining them.”One corner of her delicious mouth curved upward. “You do have guide magic, right?”“Of course!” He was deeply insulted by her question. Only the novice hunter walked around without a guide to call. “I didn’t say I couldn’t restrain them. I just said I was better at lopping off their heads.”She sniffed but didn’t say anything and Audie’stemper flared. Suddenly he found it very important to prove himself to her. He stopped, but the woman kept walking. Watching her fine, heart-shaped behind sway away from him, he lifted one hand, palm up. With a thought he called the magic in their surroundings and sparking blue particles of energy filled the air, speeding toward him. The light caught and swirled in a power-whirlwind above his palm, waiting for his direction.Smiling, Audie glanced at the woman, whose, curvy form had widened the distance between them by ten feet. With a thought he sent the swirling blue magic surging toward her, grinning as it wrapped her in a shimmering embrace and dragged her to a halt. She gave a little squeal of alarm and Audie strode over, stopping to stare down at her. “It appears my restrictive magics work just fine. She struggled against his magic web. “Good. Now let me go.”Watching her fight the magic, her red hair flying around delicate shoulders as she struggled to get free, something broke inside Audie. Something that had been closed was wrenched open. And suddenly he couldn’t help wondering how her wine-colored lips would taste—pondering how they’d feel moving softly beneath his.Once the thought was free he couldn’t call it back and Audie stepped closer. She stopped struggling and looked up at him through those unfathomable blue eyes, the thick fringe of dark red lashes fluttering slightly as she seemed to consider whether he meant her harm. Audie reached out and touched her porcelain-colored cheek, and she flinched. His finger scraped softly against the velvet surface and Audie turned it so the calluses on the tips wouldn’t abrade her delicate skin. “How is it possible that you’re so beautiful?” He murmured. It was meant to be a thought. One he’d wondered all too often to himself. But the words escaped his lips and she heard.Yeira’s eyes widened in alarm. “Look, Hunter, I…”He didn’t want to hear what she had to say. Couldn’t stand it if, in the moment when his cold heart had warmed slightly, she filled the heat-charged air between them with ugly words. So he did the only thing he could. He lowered his head and captured her lush, burgundy lips with his own.And the thing that had blossomed inside his chest creaked open another inch as she responded with instinctive passion to his touch.Available March 8, 2014!Book page with excerpt

Enjoy the following excerpt for Stealing Cupid’s Bow:
From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention. She knew who it was instantly.Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. He’d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someones—a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almost…predatory. Was he following them? Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didn’t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldn’t focus on her cousin.Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple. The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow. From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman. As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the woman’s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.“Did you see that?” Raine asked.Jane glanced at her. “See what?”She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.“What is it, Raine?”Her cousin wasn’t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might see…and blinked. There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.“Did you mean the couple getting engaged?” Jane asked. “Oh yes, it happens all the time here.”Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

 Excerpt:

15 February, 1847. Mrs. Wetherall.

He stared down at the name. There was something familiar about it, but he could not recall what it might be. He shrugged. She was soon to appear, and any familiarity would be quickly established.
At that, the door opened and a woman who could only be Mrs. Wetherall swept in, an obscenely large hat obscuring most of her face. A gown of uncommon simplicity clothed her person, but for all the garment was simple, it was obviously well made, which suggested wealth.

Ah, well, no matter if he knew her name or not. A wealthy client was always welcome.

Dunn trailed behind her, his expression as eager as ever. “Mrs. Wetherall, sir.”

Arthur inclined his head. “Thank you. That will be all.”

“Right you are, sir.” The clerk bobbed his head and left, closing the door behind him with a quiet click.

Arthur turned his regard to the woman. Currently she studied his qualifications, hung on the wall along with the framed pictures his mother had given him for his birthday every year since he’d become a solicitor. “Mrs. Wetherall, good afternoon. Please, seat yourself.”

Her shoulders straightened infinitesimally but she didn’t respond, instead continuing to regard the wall.

Irritation tugged, but he suppressed it. Emotion would get him nowhere. “Mrs. Wetherall?”

With a sweep of her skirts, the lady and her hat settled into the chair before his desk.

Frowning, he sank to his own seat. That enormous hat was absurd, still disguising her face. Why did women think such things were attractive? In addition to being ludicrous, it no doubt put undue pressure upon her neck.

Lacing her hands in her lap, the lady finally spoke. “I find I require the services of a solicitor in regards to my late husband’s will.”

The hair at the back of his neck stood up. No. Oh, Christ, no.

The hat tilted, exposing her face. Every muscle in Arthur’s body seized.

Mrs. Wetherall, formerly Miss Sarah Stanhope and the bane of his childhood, glared at him from beneath her ridiculous hat.

Today kicks off Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week. Congenital heart defects are America’s number one birth defect. One out of 100 babies in the United States are born with a CHD. That’s 40,000 CHD babies every year in this country and over 1,000,000 world-wide. CHD is the number one cause of all birth defect related deaths. More than 50% of those born with a CHD will require at least one invasive surgery in their lifetime. 20% of them will not survive their first year of life. *
But the good news is that in the last decade death rates for congenital heart defects have declined by almost 30% due to medical advances made through research.* So, more CHD kids have a chance to grow to adulthood and live normal or near-normal lives. And that is good news for people like me who hope and pray for these medical advances and the doctors and surgeons who will use them to give our CHD kids a fighting chance.
As a romance author, I believe it is my mission to bring happily-ever-after to every situation, but for children and adults who live with the uncertain future of a congenital heart defect, I wanted to write a romance with a real-life happy ending for all of them. Captivating the CEO is dedicated to “everyone who lives with a congenital heart defect, and those who care for and love them.”

Captivating the CEO
He only plans for the future. She might not have a future.
When live-for-the-moment massage therapist Willow Jeffries bursts into Colin Vanderhayden's office, she makes it her mission to loosen up the future-focused CEO, knowing each moment of the present is too precious to waste. Despite her immediate attraction, the only future she can offer is one full of heartache.
The last thing Colin needs is a flighty woman messing up his carefully-constructed plans, but her heavenly massages and addictive personality prove hard to resist. But he has no idea how sick she is.
No longer able to ignore her life-threatening medical condition, Willow slips away to spare Colin a miserable future with her. Is Colin willing to sacrifice his well-laid future plans to get Willow back?
