Interview with Holly Walters

A Man Worth Fighting For has been making the rounds to several different blogs.  I talked about my switch from straight contemporary to paranormal on Dawn's Reading Nook last week.  In case you missed Holly Walter's interview on the Musa Publishing blog, I am posting it below.

Today we welcome Holly Walters of The Wiccan Haus: A Man Worth Fighting For. Thank you for coming to chat with us today,Holly. Why do you think Sara Daniel chose you to represent her?Well, that's easy. She tried to get Justin to come here, andhe refused. Since running a PR company is my job, I understand the value ofreaching out to people and building a solid network. Honestly, I'll be able totell you more about Justin than he'd ever admit to himself.
Tell us a littleabout yourself.Justin, who I'd been dating for a year, sent me an eight-wordtext to end our relationship. "I don'twant to see you anymore. Sorry." Really? That's all I get after a yeartogether? I don't think so. Sometimes a girl has to stick up for herself anddemand better, so that's exactly what I did. I tracked Justin all the way tothe Wiccan Haus.
Do you feel you wereportrayed fairly?I wasn't very happy that calling all of Justin's colleaguesand taking a week off work to find him made me look like a stalker ex-girlfriend.Then Sara made me look like I was going crazy because of all the weird—somepeople would say magical—things happening on the island. My clients depend onmy upstanding, sane reputation. But you know what? I forgive Sara because shebrought me to Justin and gave us a second chance to work out our issues.
Speaking of Justin, what do you think of him getting his picture on the cover? Are you jealous youdon't get to share the cover with him?Not at all jealous. Justin is a determined, honorable manwho will go to any length to protect the people he cares about. Despite puttinghis life on the line every day for his country, he never figured out that he is a man worth fighting for. That'swhy I came to the Wiccan Haus to fight for him. That's why I'm on this blogspilling our private details. Besides, have you ever seen a hotter, sexier manthan my Justin? No, you haven't, and that perfection deserves to have an entirecover devoted to it.
Do you believe inghosts?Well, if you'd asked me before I came to the Wiccan Haus, Iwould have said absolutely not. But after spending a week at the Wiccan Haus, let's just say I now believe in things I never imagined existed before. Ghostsdon't even begin to cover it.
Why should thereaders be interested in your story?Besides the fact that reading A Man Worth Fighting For is like taking a mini-vacation to theWiccan Haus, everyone needs to meet Justin and hear his story of bravery, healing and determination. If that's not enough for you, here's the clincher. He'ssexy, strong and vulnerable all at once. Who wouldn't fall for a man like that? However, since I'm not going to share him with you, you'll just have to read thebook if you want to experience it for yourself!

*pause*

I understand. That wasn't enough. Here's another minute.

*pause*

Okay, feel free to keep drooling while I talk. In honor of Mr. Hottie and to celebrate his debut, I am giving away TWO copies of  A Man Worth Fighting For : one right here and one on the Wiccan Haus blog.

Shot by a member of his military team, Justin Lawson retreats to the Wiccan Haus. Holly Walters refuses to accept her boyfriend's out-of-the-blue rejection without an explanation, even if getting the answers forces her to be trapped on a bizarre island for an entire week. She's going to use every minute to work Justin out of her system once and for all. Justin's body and spirit begin to heal under Holly's loving ministrations. As she talks about never seeing each other again, he realizes he never wants to let her go. But the rogue assassin who had gone after Justin before is after him again. Before he can fight to make Holly believe in their love, he'll have to fight for both their lives.
Magic and paranormal powers are a big part of life on the Wiccan Haus island, something that the humans who visit often have trouble accepting. This makes  A Man Worth Fighting For  the perfect treat celebrating the leprechaun's shenanigans. In fact, the shamrock above reminds me of the Wiccan Haus symbol on the left. I also really like the mystical look of the swirling clover and the clover soap below.

Romance At Random Luck 'O the Irish Hop

Thank you for joining me on the Romance At Random Luck 'O the Irish Hop.  I am feeling extra lucky because the release for A Man Worth Fighting For falls right in the middle of this terrific blog hop.  I'll give you a minute to drool over the cover. *pause* Shot by a member of his military team, Justin Lawson retreats to the Wiccan Haus.
[image error] I am so excited to bring a virtual pot of gold to each of you in addition to the great Barnes and Noble gift cards offered by Romance at Random.  In my contemporary romance  Mr. Forever , I have a fun, quirky secondary romance.  Although it's clear at the end of  Mr. Forever  that Penelope and Ethan get together, we don't get to see their final scene.  Because I loved these characters so much, I created an epilogue to  Mr. Forever  so we could see Penelope finally overcome the last of her insecurities as she and Ethan seal their love for each other.
Penelope's PleasuresPenelope is confident in her ability to create dazzling perfumes, but on the personal side she believes she has nothing to offer a man.  Ethan is used to having his way with women.  He's smitten with Penelope but has committed himself to working only as her business partner.  Penelope finally works up the nerve to act on her attraction.  Will true love follow, or will they ruin their partnership when they mix business with pleasure?
You can enjoy Penelope's Pleasures on its own, but I think you'll enjoy it more after reading  Mr. Forever .  The only woman who can help Caleb bond with his son is on a mission to destroy the career he's dedicated his life to.
On Monday, April 2nd I will send a copy of Penelope's Pleasures to everyone who leaves a comment by midnight Sunday, April 1st.  Put your email address in the comments, as well as your preferred file type (Kindle, Nook or pdf).

Don't forget to enter the Barnes & Noble gift card giveaway below!

I am so excited to join my first Enchanted Muse blog hop.  The "Flirting with Love" theme fits meperfectly.  I adore writing and reading romancein its many shapes and forms.  I love thesizzle of instant attraction, the conflict that makes the characters workagainst each other, the sexual chemistry that keeps them thinking about eachother every moment of the day and night, the heartbreak that wrenches themapart, and of course the happily ever after that brings them back together.  I revel in the romantic journey where thecharacters flirt with love for the entire story until the very end when theyembrace it and accept it for themselves, and love completes their lives.   [image error] What would you do ifyou got a second chance at love…with your husband's best friend?  Second Chance Valentine is a FREE romance short story.  Please download it and enjoy.  Yes, I am completely flirting with you, and Ihope you fall in love with both the story and my writing.  My flirty pictures here all relate to Second Chance Valentine .  The beach, a rose, dancing in the dark—yep, they're all in there.  Here is a quickblurb: Rickhas always been a shoulder for his best friend's widow to lean on, but to himshe will always belong to his friend.  Giannais ready to move on with her life, and no other man affects her like Rick.  To give them both a second chance at love andlife, Gianna must convince him that her husband would have wanted him to be theman she moves on with.  Because I'm really getting into this flirting thing, leave acomment here, and I will pick one lucky random winner to receive a copy of myfull length contemporary romance novel Mr. Forever .  "The only woman who can help Caleb bond with his son is on a mission todestroy the career he's dedicated his life to."

Musa Books I Love -- Blog Hop

[image error] The first book I read from Musa Publishing was Shifting Hearts by DominiqueEastwick.  I fell in love with the coverfirst.  Okay, it was probably lust, buttake a good look at this man and you'll understand why.  He's Rekkus, head of Wiccan Haus security, hot alpha male, and a were-tiger. Mmmrrroeww!
Once I got beyond the cover to start reading, I immediatelyfell in love with the Wiccan Haus world. The setting is a paranormal island off the coast of Maine that's run byfour siblings, all with different paranormal gifts that they use for spiritualhealing of the humans and not-so-humans who vacation on their island for a weekat a time.  Perhaps my favorite characterfrom this quirky cast was the desk clerk Myron who's constantly wearing thewrong name tag and consulting a deck of playing to cards to direct guests onwhere they should be and what they should be doing.
[image error] Another Musa book I read was Ivy League Cowboy by Helen Hardt. Here's another alpha man (hmm, do I sense a pattern?) who wants to takecare of "his woman."  I thought this wasgoing to be a predictable cowboy-rodeo-save the ranch romance, but it wasnot.  The more I read, the more compelledI was by the story.  I can't say morewithout spoiling the heroine's secret, but suffice to say it was verysatisfying read.
[image error] [image error] Just to mix things up, I also read the male-male More Love Notes anthology by Lydia Nyx,Scarlett Parrish, Viki Lyn and Jenny Urban. It was HOT, and I loved thevariety of stories.  I also read themale-male novella Simple Gifts by LBGregg, which was wonderful and sweet and made me want to read everything LB hasever written.

I have the privilege of being published alongside these wonderfulauthors at Musa Publishing.  Here are the cover and blurb for my contemporary romance novel Mr. Forever :

Marriage therapist Caleb Paden has just found out he has ason from a one-night stand, making a mockery of his core belief of stablerelationships--"friendship above all physical encounters." On his wayto take the child for a paternity test, a snowstorm leaves him stranded withsingle mom Olivia Wells, who blames his advice for breaking up hermarriage.  Caleb finds himself fightingthe urge for the most basic of physical encounters.  Olivia would like nothing more than todestroy the career he spent a lifetime building, but her maternal instinctsdraw her to help Caleb bond with his child. Soon, she finds herself falling for both of them.  Nowhere in any of his advice does Caleb havean answer for how to make a relationship work if he loses his heart to love.
Excerpt:
Sheshoved his hand away.  "Don't giveme that mellow, understanding voice. You're not my therapist."
"I'mnot trying to be.  But if there's aproblem with Forever, I want to fixit."
"That'snot what you want."  Maybe comingclose to her wasn't the best idea.  Shewas livid.  "You want me to tell yousomething I did, so you can prove your model's perfect and I'm at fault.  Yes, my marriage failed, and I carry someresponsibility.  I blame myself forreading your books and believing they held the secret to everlastinghappiness."
He'dmet a lot of irate people over the years. But they were angry with their spouses, themselves, parents, andbosses.  Not him.  He was the one with the answers, the one whoredirected the rage into something healthy. "I'd like to interview you after we've both cooled down and arewell rested.  We'll go through the pointsof Forever one by one and determinewhere your marriage broke down.  If anyproblems surface with the model, I can address them in my next book."
"I'lltell you what's wrong.  You underestimatethe power of sex."  She advancedtoward him.
Allthe physical senses he thought he'd gotten under tight rein ran wild.  Caleb backed up a step, trying to regain hiscontrol, but came up hard against the counter. Olivia kept coming, boxing him in. He pulled on his tie again, hoping it was knotted tightly.  He needed his tightly buttoned image toremind himself he was a professional, and his question was strictly as atherapist.  "How was the sex in yourmarriage?"
"Sometimesmediocre.  Usually lousy."
Withthe unholy gleam in her eye, he had trouble comprehending the possibility of asexual experience with her being less than earth-shattering.  Heat radiated from her.  His body was dying for her to lean her hipsinto his.
"How'syour sex life?"  She reached up andunknotted his tie with deft, sure fingers.
"Goodenough," he lied.  Too late herealized she'd broken the wall of one-way revelation he always maintained.  Even with his lie for an answer, she'd drawnhim in and was consuming him with sexual fantasies.
"Sinceyou're judging me, I ought to get a chance to judge your statement formyself."  She yanked the tie, sliding it out from under his starched shirt collar and heating the back of hisneck.
"Stopit."  He was unnerved to find hisvoice wasn't quite steady.  Women whowanted to be part of his life wrote letters highlighting the benefits offriendship.  "Let's focus on whatwent wrong in your marriage."
Sheworked her fingers under his collar, pushing the top button through thehole.  "How can you stand havingthis so tight?  You can't take a fullbreath."
He'dbeen able to breathe just fine until her knuckles rubbed over his Adam'sapple.  Her fingers were smooth andcompetent.  Despite his resolve, he couldfeel his arousal pulsing with each of her movements.
