Music Monday - Overkill - White Devil Armory

As usual, Overkill’s latest album is awesome. It should be a crime for a band to still be this good after 18 albums.

Below are my two favorite tracks right now.

Bitter Pill

Freedom Rings

Music Monday - Judas Priest - Redeemer of Souls

The Judas Priest album Redeemer of Souls came out a few weeks ago, and it has been in heavy rotation for me ever since. This is easily one of their better albums which you might not expect so deep in their career.

If you’ve ever been a fan of theirs, I strongly urge you to pick it up. Heavy, lots of guitar work, a couple of nice ballads, and some great melody.

Halls of Valhalla

Sword of Damocles

Introducing the Maps Tab

Now that I have two published series set in two unrelated worlds, and since the images of the maps may be hard to enlarge on a smartphone or reading device, I thought it be nice to have a home on my blog for all the maps for both series.

Click on the "Maps" tab on the menu above or click here to see all the maps that my wife has created for the Blood and Tears series and The Epic of Andrasta and Rondel.

Enjoy!

My Personal Assistant

My personal assistant does a lot for me. Without her my life would be at least ten times more stressful and I wouldn’t be nearly as productive as I am now. She does the following off the top of my head.

Alphareader (first content editor).Line editor (before going to my betareaders).Second proofreader (happens after I make changes based on editor comments).Mapmaker (turns my chicken scratch into awesome).Cover formatter (takes the illustrations obtained from artists and crops, shades, adds font, etc. to make the illustration work for a cover).Book formatter (Ebook and Print).Website maintenance (design and updates to my blog).Uploads all books to third party retailers.Supports me in my writing pursuits and crazy, self-imposed deadlines.Probably a whole lot more I don’t even realize.

And best of all she does it for free, and on top of her normal duties of a wife and mother of three. Why? Because loves me. I mean if she doesn’t, then she’s just crazy.

Anyway, my wife doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves.

Thanks babe!

TOWER OF BASHAN is now available!

Her goal is in sight. His plan is in place. Those who force their hand will pay.

The Tower of Bashan: The Epic of Andrasta and Rondel, Vol. 3 can be purchased from the following locations for only $3.99 in ebook form.

If you do not have an ereader or a phone capable of acting as an ereader and you're interested in reading the story, you can always download the Amazon Kindle application for your desktop or laptop and read it from your computer.

The paperback will be available at Amazon later this week for just $11.99.

Here is a brief synopsis of The Tower of Bashan.

Her goal is in sight. His plan is in place. Those who force their hand will pay.
The journey to the Tower of Bashan has tested Andrasta and Rondel’s partnership, threatened their friendship, and left them with a wealth of scars. After months of research and careful planning, the tower is now before them. They are confident that with the knowledge they have gained, they will defeat the guardians protecting the Jewel of Bashan within.
Their progress is halted when they discover that the entrance is no longer the same. With the tower taunting the pair and their plan useless, they take out their frustration on each other until a quick-witted, young girl gives them an idea on how to succeed. A new plan is formulated, creating political waves and upsetting the criminal underground.
They entered Bashan to steal a jewel, but they may just quicken a civil war.
The Tower of Bashan, is the third standalone novel in The Epic of Andrasta and Rondel.
The fourth (as yet unnamed) standalone novel will be released next year with several more coming over the next couple of years.

To read an excerpt of The Tower of Bashan, click the “Sample” button below.

If you enjoy the story or any of my other works, please consider leaving a rating or review at the site of purchase as well as other places such as Goodreads and Librarything. Like many other indie authors, I do not have a marketing team working for me and a positive review (even if only a couple of sentences long) can go a long way in enticing others to give my works a try.

You can also shoot me an email at joshuapsimon.author@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for your continued support!

Music Monday - Arch Enemy - War Eternal

I had my doubts about the new Arch Enemy album, but I gotta say they were unfounded. The music is better than it’s been in a while, and Alissa does a great job on vocals. After quite a few listens, I think I prefer her vocals over Angela's.

Good stuff.

Music Monday - Soul Asylum

It’s been a bit quiet here due to some traveling to visit family, a computer dying, immediate family getting crazy sick, and a bunch of other stuff going on. Needless to say, life has been pretty frustrating at times which led me to thinking about the below song.

Misery

And it’s pretty much impossible to think about Soul Asylum without thinking of their biggest hit.

Runaway Train

Very underrated band.
