D.C. Author's Newest Book Inspired By Fan Feedback
50 copies of “The Realmsic Conquest” being donated to wounded war veteran heroes.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -Local writer Demethius Jackson was inspired by fan reaction to his all- rhyming epic adventure published three years ago. Comments flowed in from followers across the globe, like Six Mixed Reviews saying “The Realmsic Conquest: The Candle of Crest” was “ingenious,” and Canadian reader Jennifer Chatham raving the short-form book was “quite a remarkable way to share a story.”
They all had one thing in common – readers wanted a full-length version of the epic poem.
So on August 23, Jackson follows up with “The Realmsic Conquest: A Hero of Legend” in paperback and eBook (370 pages, ISBN: 978-1484843864).
The literary novel takes place in the fictional Realm, the only magical kingdom in existence, which has also been ravaged by endless warfare. The Realm’s newest leader King Maebus has ruled only for six days and now must help his people through its most perilous conflict ever.
After the new book releases, Jackson’s rhyming debut will no longer be sold and will then become a collector’s item.
In celebration of the launch, Jackson honors real-life American heroes with a donation of 50 copies of his fantasy book to the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.
“I’m thankful and have endless admiration for those who serve in our Armed Forces,” Jackson said. “The well-being and rehabilitation of our wounded warriors are of utmost importance. Every soldier is a Hero of Legend!”

'Self-Help Fantasy' Has Kickstarted In Dallas
After enticing fantasy readers throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area, author Demethius Jackson has now successfully funded his Kickstarter Campaign to promote the book genre he calls, “Self-Help Fantasy.”
His novel, The Realmsic Conquest: The Hero of Legend, (348 pages, ISBN: 978-1500596118) –was independently published July 2014. After the series gained traction through Dallas-based fan expos such as Dallas ComicCon, Jackson used his Kickstarter campaign to expand awareness of the new genre. The campaign which ended June 5th, raised over $2,000. A modest amount, Jackson admits. However, the collected pledges will be used not only to promote the series, but also to encourage literacy by providing free school appearances and library readings throughout Dallas/Fort Worth for the next 12 months.
The book series follows the compelling saga of the fictional, Realm, earth’s only magical kingdom. Invaluable life-lessons are presented throughout the story as the characters struggle to end an eternal war caused by their magic. Jackson believes readers of all ages will strongly identify with his characters and the problems they confront, and will be inspired “to overcome their own life’s challenges. Hence, the self-helping aspect of the novels.”
Within his Kickstarter video, Jackson alluded to his motivation for pioneering this new book genre. He stated that growing up came with no instruction manual, and that sometimes the only guidance or encouragement young people received was from television programs, movies, and books. Jackson experienced this first-hand growing up in Washington, DC during the 1980’s. Although coping with extreme hardships, continuous encouragement uplifted him above those obstacles. Now, through his self-help fantasy series, he intends to encourage other teens and young adults who are working to reach their potentials.
Jackson also claims that his successful Kickstarter campaign was as much a personal victory as it was professional. His relocation to Dallas last year came after experiencing the unexpected loss of his mother and a divorce from his six-year marriage. Jackson stated that “It was a tremendously rough time in [his] life. But it’s those types of experiences that shape who we are. You learn and you grow.” The overall positive reception of his novel perhaps proves that there is indeed an audience for self-help fantasy from an author who has lived the life lessons he writes about.
