Thank you to everyone who got back to me about beta reading - I'm not sure why, I never expected such a great response! I'm on holiday at the moment, which is why I haven't yet replied to all of you. I shall do so upon my return, however :)

Book six is under way...

On we go with the series... how will Artemi cope with the events of the last book?!

More twists and turns to come :)

Technical stuff:

To avoid any more typos slipping through next time, I'm thinking of getting a beta reader or two. This person or people would need to read through the whole book within a few days, have a good grasp of grammar, be able to allow for some British quirks in the language and have a keen eye for errors. Of course, they'd be among the first people to read it (for free), but the version they'd receive would have already been through the editing process (i.e. the worst of the errors would be gone, but there might be a few left). If you'd like to volunteer and have access to a free copy of the book, drop me a message via Facebook or this blog.

Please also note that we do have a publisher address - publish@idolatree.com - where, if you're feeling generous, you can report any typographical errors you've spotted in previous books. :D

Oops

After some nights of limited sleep(!), I've finished checking through the book. I did find a handful of errors - not a vast amount of them, but enough to make me go, "Ergh." Sad to say, they were down to me rather than any Amazon processing problem. Some of them I remember we fixed before, so it may have been that I just didn't save the final draft properly. I'm not sure. Anyway, it's all my fault for being rubbish :(. Sorry if your reading experience has been affected by this. Everything has been updated (Amazon, Createspace, Smashwords, iTunes etc. - the lot) and double, triple and quadruple-checked! You should be able to download the updated version 12 hours from now on most sites. In most cases, you will only need to visit the book page and click on 'update', but on Amazon, you may need to contact customer services and ask them to update it for you. I think you can subscribe to automatic updates with them, but I've never been able to get this to work with my own books!

Barnes & Noble do tend to take a bit longer to update their book versions, so you may need to wait a few days before that happens.

Once again, sorry, but please feel free to chew me into little pieces in your reviews if you feel you need some revenge!

Hi all. News has reached me that there are some editing i...

Hi all. News has reached me that there are some editing issues with the latest book. After Blazed Union suffered similar problems, every effort was made to ensure the same would not happen with this book and we were confident that VoB would be error-free. However, something has gone wrong somewhere.  During the pre-order publishing process on Amazon, a draft version of the book is submitted in order to 'prove' that there is something ready to go. The version we submitted initially was complete, did not have any glaring errors or misspellings, but did require some editing tweaks. My fear is that this version was distributed to Amazon pre-order customers instead of the final draft that we submitted. The Amazon pre-order system is new to kdp, and there have been some glitches... Until I have re-read the book, page by page, I don't know which version is on sale or with whom the fault lies. For that reason, the book must be temporarily unpublished on Amazon. If you have written a review, it will still be there when the book is made live again. Thank you and please bear with me!

Voices of Blaze Discussion Thread

I have created a private Goodreads spoiler group in which readers can chat, comment or ask anything about book 5 once they've finished reading it. Or perhaps the group could act as a source of therapy after the trauma!

You can find it here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...

Of course, if you don't want me looking over your respective shoulders, please feel free to create your own groups!

VoB discussion thread?

Well, hopefully most of you will have received your new copies of VoB by now, and are currently enjoying the latest set of tortures the characters have to endure... I feel I should set up a secret spoiler discussion thread somewhere. Any suggestions as to where??
