A bit about last night's poem...
Always been inspired by mythology of any kind - Greek, Roman, but especially Norse. Hrimfaxi and Skinfaxi were the horses which brought the day and the night, or, more precisely, pulled the chariots of Nott and Dagr respectively. Dagr galloped across the sky and brought the day, while Nott came in pursuit and brought the night.
There are a number of reasons why I like utilising mythology in writing (Lilith's Tears is loaded full of biblical mythology - even the title, and The Travelling...
