Hi I really love your blog! Your writing is just incredible! I was just wondering how you got your ideas for your writing? Is it your imagination? :)

Hi! Thanks :) I’m glad you enjoy it! I would say its a combination of experience and imagination. Pretty much everything I write, from very short pieces to novels is based off some kind of experience or feeling which I have had in my real life (usually bad ones to be fair..negative experiences seem to translate best into writing) and then the imagination side of things takes over and I make a story out of the experience, the feeling, the emotion or whatever the inspiration is, so it’s a combi...

You've probably been asked this about a thousand times, but why the moon? Your icon, your profile layout, and in a lot of your writing, so I'm just wondering what the importance, the significance, the meaning behind your moons?

This is a good question! The moon really is everywhere around me as you say. I love the moon, I always stare up at it especially in the Autumn when its huge and copper coloured. The meaning behind my moons is the magical, timeless quality I associate with the moon. It reminds me of the past, when I’ve looked up at it as a child, and at the same time I think that in the future, whatever I am doing, wherever I am in the world and whatever I have found myself doing, the moon will still be there....

A Garden of Halves

I sit beneath the magpie sky

Of rooftop wars

In a garden of halves:

The shadow, the sun

The summer, the autumn

A memory, a future

A hope, a fear

A dream, a scheme.

Days slide by in time

And the magpies shout

And call their war

Across the twilight skies

Of stolen silver.

What will be must be:

I must be me.

"Perhaps he had been a doctor, perhaps he had been a soldier, perhaps he had been a scientist,..."

“Perhaps he had been a doctor, perhaps he had been a soldier, perhaps he had been a scientist, probing the very depths of human biology, or maybe, just maybe, he had been a great poet, a great romantic, who had, at some vague point in his history, declared boldly, bravely, his greatest love, only to be met with a yawning void of silence. Truly, there were a huge number of creations which this man could have occupied, but all were irrelevant, for here he stood, reduced, quaking, a nameless fig...
