Cover Reveal GP Ching's Soul Catcher
It's here! I can finally share with you the cover of the fourth Soulkeepers novel, Soul Catcher.
Dane Michaels has been to Hell and back and isn't interested in repeating the experience. But as a human caught up in the Soulkeeper's world, his life isn't exactly his own. No one can explain why Dane was allowed through the gates of Eden, but it's changed everything. Now, the only one who can make him feel safe is Ethan, the telekinetic Soulkeeper with a dark past and a heart of gold.
When Malini asks Dane to be part of a mission to find the last Soulkeeper, Cheveyo, more than one team member thinks she's tempting Fate. But Malini suspects Fate has had a hand in Dane's life for some time and that he could be the key to unraveling Lucifer's latest plan of attack.
Add it on Goodreads!
About The Cover Adam Bedore of Anjin Design creates all of the covers for The Soulkeepers Series. Book four revolves around Dane, pictured here, and introduces Cheveyo, a Hopi indian boy and the last Soulkeeper on the list Dr. Silva conjured in book 3. Cheveyo is represented by the dream catcher and adobe wall behind Dane. Fate, also known as Fatima, plays a role in the story. You can see her shadow hanging from the red stone in the dream catcher. (Yes, she is represented as a spider. She is a master weaver after all!) And if you think there is something up with that shadow behind Dane, you are not mistaken. There's more to him than meets the eye.
About The Book Soul Catcher is slated for a March release and is the fourth book in the bestselling Soulkeepers series.

Teaser Tuesday: The Only Exception
I promised once The Only Exception got 100 people adding it to their TBR on GoodReads I'd post a teaser. That happened in a day! It took me a little longer to post because I wanted to get the right teaser. It's a little longer and hasn't gone to the editor yet, but hopefully it will keep you wanting more.
*********
"Hanging out at the place I left you and waiting for my return?"
I opened one eye, looked to my left, and saw Trey standing in the doorway with one hand on his hip and the other leaning against the door frame. Ugh, just who I wanted to see.
"No." I opened both eyes and pushed off the door. "Just heading to get some dinner and groceries."
"That didn't look like what you were doing." He pulled away from the door frame and took slow, meticulous strides over to me. "But if you were waiting for me to ask you to dinner, I'd be happy to oblige."
He was so close that I could inhale his exquisite scent. He smelled like the cologne they have samples of in men's fashion magazines, but keep locked up in department stores. Part of me wanted to pull him against me and take in all of his glorious aroma. But the bigger part of me knew better than to try anything with the senator's son.
"No thanks. I think I can handle this one solo. I know you conservatives aren't big on women going out on their own, but I swear I can handle myself." I turned away from him, sliding my purse higher on my shoulder.
Before I could make it even two steps, he was right next to me. "I'm just trying to help out the new girl around here. I don't mind making you feel more welcome, no matter who you are voting for in the next election."
I turned to face him. I wanted to say something snarky in return, but when I saw the pleading behind his bright green eyes I instantly felt like my knees were about to give out. I had to stand my ground. I didn't transfer to meet a new boyfriend. I transferred to get away and that was exactly what I needed to do. "I'm going to have to decline."
"Can I get a rain check, then?" he asked, running a hand through his hair. I could just see his muscles flinch through his white dress shirt. For a brief moment my thoughts wondered to how much he worked out and what he would possibly look like without the white, starched shirt.
"Maybe," I muttered before I turned around and ran through the exit to the stairwell. The only sound left was the thumping of my own heart in my chest. There was no way I was going to go on a date with any guy, especially not the senator’s son. No matter how cute he was.

Reviews
For awhile I was doing reviews on this blog. I received Egalleys and some ARCs from bigger publishers. Once How to Date an Alien was published I announced that I would be done posting reviews.
And then I started reading amazing Indie books and posted more reviews to GoodReads and Amazon. WTF?
Okay, so I have a new policy on reviews. I'm still not going to post them here, but I will only post positive reviews of books that I've actually enjoyed to Amazon and GoodReads.
Why?
Because as an author, I'm not going to go out and attack another author's work. No matter how much I didn't enjoy a book, it feels wrong to slam another author. I feel like I need to still report them. There was one ARC I received a few years ago, from a bix six publisher, and I loved the author but thought the book was terrible. I respectfully declined to review it because I loved the author and felt there was no need to just bring them and their work down.
So in a nutshell, you see me reading book, if I loved it, I'm not afraid to post and gush about it. If I didn't love it, I'm not going to go and attack someone else's work. I do understand that bad reviews aren't the end all be all, but I love my fellow authors too much to go out and attack them.
How to you feel about reviews? Do you post the bad ones?

The Only Exception
In my Next Big Thing post I talked a little bit about my upcoming New Adult title THE ONLY EXCEPTION and now it's on GoodReads!
You can add it here
There will be a cover reveal coming February through Supagurl books and I will post when those sign ups take place.
If you don't feel like wandering over to GoodReads here is the synopsis for THE ONLY EXCEPTION
Fiercely liberal Monica Remy prefers to blend in. Despite her tattoos, piercings, and outspoken personality, she transferred to Central to escape—before she finds out that her next door neighbor is the uber conservative senator’s son, Trey Chapman.
No matter how hard she tries to avoid Trey, he still finds a way to get under her skin. Monica can’t stand his crisp white shirts or his staunch views on women. But she can’t help counting every freckle on his face and wondering what it would feel like to have him stop talking politics and kiss her.
A class debate project forces the unlikely pair to work together, and the political lines are blurred in late-night make out sessions. But despite their fiery chemistry, Trey’s politics threatens to smother their relationship for good.
I'm very excited about this title because it does delve into some taboo topics and some that are very near and dear to my heart. And there is a hot guy and dress shirts, which COME ON NOW.
The release date is April but I promise to get some teasers posted along the way. Hmmm...maybe once this book gets 100 TBR on GoodReads I'll post the first teaser? Sound good?

2012 and looking to 2013
2012 was one heckuva a year for me publishing wise and personal wise.
* I published four books
*Made some new friends in The Indelibles and the girls of NA Alley *Redesigned my book covers with help from Steven Novak *Made enough from writing that it paid for my daughter's daycare and all writing expenses *Finally saw the New Adult genre take flight (after sitting on an NA manuscript for almost 3 years). And then there was the personal stuff... *Started a new job that was a pay raise, but changed my work hours completely *Found out I was expecting my second child But there is even more excitement coming as I look forward to 2013! *Publishing a New Adult Stand Alone, THE ONLY EXCEPTION (April) *A second novel in The My Paper Heart saga *A science fiction young adult novel (hopefully before years end) *The birth of my second daughter *Hopefully keeping up more with this blog *Praying the market isn't saturated with New Adult and science fiction and you all still want my stuff! What are you looking forward to in 2013? Are you glad 2012 is over?
* I published four books

My twelve dollar book haul
I haven't shut up on Twitter and Facebook that I received a $12 giftcard for Amazon from my Secret Santa and bought 11 books (I did buy a 12th, but that was 99 cents and I only had 11 cents left, so it doesn't count). Since I haven't stopped talking about it, I figured I should share my book haul so you all can check out some new reads for the new year! (Note: Some are still on sale, but some have gone up in price)
