The Stall & A FZS Update
On Saturday, I went over to the Reel Splatter Studios to record a voice-over for Mike Lombardo’s new Lovecraftian horror film, THE STALL, in which I play a disc jockey. (If you’ve yet to sample Mike’s work, I highly recommend SUBURBAN HOLOCAUST, in which I also appear).
I got to the recording session early, and had the opportunity to watch while Brooklyn hip-hop artists Papa Sim and Duss Smitto (both of whom are also in the movie) recorded some audio, as well. We all hung out for a while, and then after Papa and Duss headed back to NYC, Mike and I discussed Drunken Tentacle stuff.
Speaking of which, we’ve hit some snags with FAST ZOMBIES SUCK. We’re discussing the feasibility of re-shooting a few scenes, or perhaps shooting one additional scene. Nothing will be decided until the next group meeting, and I don’t foresee that taking place until after the holidays. What this means for you is that the movie won’t be out on DVD in January as previously speculated. But it will be out sometime next year.

EARTHWORM GODS
The Cult Classic Returns!!!
One day, it starts raining-and never stops. Global super-storms decimate the planet, eradicating most of mankind. Pockets of survivors gather on mountaintops, watching as the waters climb higher and higher. But as the tides rise, something else is rising, too.
Now, in the midst of an ecological nightmare, the remnants of humanity face a new menace, in a battle that stretches from the rooftops of submerged cities to the mountaintop islands jutting from the sea. What hope does an already-devastated mankind have against this new supernatural adversary.
The old gods are dead. Now is the time of the Earthworm Gods…
Deadite Press is proud to present this Author’s Preferred Edition of EARTHWORM GODS, including an all-new, lengthy afterword by the author recounting the novel’s inspiration, creation, and history.
EARTHWORM GODS: SELECTED SCENES FROM THE END OF THE WORLD
One day it started raining-and it never stopped…
So began Brian Keene’s EARTHWORM GODS, a novel that straddled the lines between the horror and bizarro genres. Fans have long marveled over that post-apocalyptic landscape-a flooded earth filled with strange and terrifying monsters. Readers returned to that world in EARTHWORM GODS II: DELUGE. Now, it’s time for one last trip.
EARTHWORM GODS: SELECTED SCENES FROM THE END OF THE WORLD is a collection of short stories set in the world of EARTHWORM GODS and EARTHWORM GODS II: DELUGE. From the first drop of rain to humanity’s last waterlogged stand, these tales chronicle the fall of man against a horrifying, unstoppable evil. And as the waters rise over the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere-brand new monsters surface-along with some familiar old favorites, to wreak havoc on an already devastated mankind.
Deadite Press is proud to present this all-new, first time in paperback edition, including an all-new introduction and new story notes by the author.

Waiting For the Worms
Later this week, paperback editions of both Earthworm Gods and Earthworm Gods: Selected Scenes From the End of the World will go on sale. I’ve seen some confusion about these titles among some newer readers, so what follows is a primer on the Worms Trilogy.
The Conqueror Worms was originally published in hardcover as Earthworm Gods. When it was published in paperback, the paperback publisher changed the title to The Conqueror Worms (which I’ve always hated) and then added insult to injury by giving it a terrible cover.
For it’s re-release in paperback from my new publisher, I’ve changed the title back to Earthworm Gods. The text is a little bit different from The Conqueror Worms. There is a brief scene that was cut from the original, and there is a quite lengthy afterword that discusses the novel’s history, creation, influence, etc. Indeed, pre-reader Tod Clark is on record as saying, quote: “That new afterword is worth the price, alone. Every fan should read that.”
Earthworm Gods: Selected Scenes From the End of the World is a separate book featuring 32 short stories set in the world of Earthworm Gods. It was only previously available as a limited edition hardcover, so this will be the first time most of you will be able to read it.
So, the trilogy is:
1. EARTHWORM GODS (previously published as THE CONQUEROR WORMS)
2. EARTHWORM GODS II: DELUGE
3. EARTHWORM GODS: SELECTED SCENES FROM THE END OF THE WORLD
Hope that clarifies everything!
LAST CALL
There are less than five Maelstrom III sets left. Remember — although Earthworm Gods II: Deluge will be available in paperback and digital next year, this will be the only edition of Sundancing ever published. This is your last chance! Click here to order.

This weekend, I am…
Working on the Author’s Preferred Edition of THE RISING. Approximately 30,000 words worth of material was cut from the original. Much of it will be put back in, including what should have been the first appearance of Black Lodge, more about Ab, Api, and Apu, and more Frankie kicking ass.
2013, Deadite Press, paperback and digital.

Important Publishing News That Publishing Isn’t Talking About
Other than articles on a few Blogs, Section 203 of the 1978 United States Copyright Act isn’t getting much discussion. It really should, because it impacts us all. In a nutshell, the law allows authors to break their contracts with their publishers, and receive a reversion of rights (except for work-for-hire) after 35 years. This means that authors who signed a non-work-for-hire publishing contract in 1978 can now potentially reclaim those rights. However, the window to do that is closing soon, as is the clock is ticking for rights signed away in 1979. The best layman’s explanation of the law that I’ve found is here. I suggest you read it in full.
