Actually The Worst Song In The World :D (Never Get Naked In Your Shower)

Mostly because it gets stuck in your head and then whenever you are staying at, say, relatives’ houses, it RANDOMLY POPS BACK INTO YOUR HEAD AND MAKES THINGS AWKWARD.

Made it Monday: More Baby Stuff For Markets

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

Let’s See How Much I Love You Today

Sometimes, kids are really just there to teach you not to be a jerk.

Kid1 started Kindergarten this year, which involved a school uniform and, among other things, a school bag. Because the bag is uniform, everyone has the same bag. Because everyone has the same bag, the first week or so of pick-up involved opening bags to find which one had contents that I recognised. Clearly, this is not efficient, and a bag tag was in order. So bag tag shopping we went.

I was, to put it mildly, surprised an...

Robot Love Story

This one’s a little longer than usual, but I promise it’s worth it. This SUPER cute story is part of the LXD series (League of Extraordinary Dancers) and one of my favourites. (I’ll share my other fav. next week :3)

Evergreen: New on Darkness & Good

I have a poem up on the Darkness & Good blog today. I wrote the first draft of this poem back in uni, in my first creative writing course. I stumbled across it again recently and realised how to finish it – so here it is. An autumnal poem for the autumn season in the southern hemisphere

Darkness & Good button with red text on a white background, with shadowed, dark grey leaves in the background. The leaves have red ribs and stems. Link goes to http://darknessandgood.blogspot.com.

The Soul-Crippling Horrors of Humanity

I don’t think we need a lengthy introduction here about how awful humanity can be. It’s pretty easy to look around and spot a hundred examples all within arm’s reach. Humanity can be awful. It hurts. It hurts so much there’s a term for it: Weltschmertz, which is German for ‘world pain’.

World pain. That’s pretty much it, isn’t it? When you look at the world and the horrors it contains, and it hurts, and it’s as big as the world and has heavy as the world and just a solidly immovable.

Most of...
