Oh My Gosh The Last Two Weeks What The Even.
Self-indulgent post, sorry, but here we are.
You GUYS. The last two weeks have been reeeeDIKulous.
Monday: Full day of work, then 11-hour stint cake decorating (see next Monday), meaning I got to bed at 4:30am.
Tuesday: Full day of work, home for an hour to make a batch of buttercream (which takes 30 mins), then split/fill/decorate a small dietary-requirement cake to go with Monday’s epic one, then load both cakes into the car and head into town to drop them off. This took Time, and I ended u...

Made-it Monday: *actually* not cake WHOA
Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

When Photoshop Goes Too Far
Love me some Studio C :3 A lighthearted vid today. Tell me, if you’re feeling sharey: what’s the worst photoshopping you ever did?
I’ve literally never told anyone this before, but Imma totally go all confession on you rn: When I was in my senior year of highschool I totally did that movie thing and photoshopped my face together with my boyfriend’s to see what our future children might look like. *dies*.
Luckily, said bf is now my husband, and even more luckily, neither of my kids look anythi...

Secret Reading Stash
I’ve been hanging out for the last three weeks to go raid the school library for a holiday reading stash. Now that students are gone, I feel like I can clear the shelves of popular options without impunity, so on Friday I brought home a stash… which OF COURSE I then topped up today. Hey, I already had to return two books (John Green’s Turtles All The Way Down and Stephanie Perkins’ Anna and the French Kiss, both of which I enjoyed) and OF COURSE it made sense to replace them… and pick up just...

Meeting Authors Is Squeeful!
Even though we are, like, the capital of the country, it’s surprising how few Big Name Authors we get stop here. So when I discovered about six weeks ago that Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner were coming to town, I was EK-SIGH-TED!! Very.
They did an ‘in conversation’ talk and signed tonight at a local indie bookstore, and you guys, it was fabulous B-) Amie and Meagan are witty and charming and passionate and enthusiastic and smart and just generally pretty darn awesome people. Listening to th...

Korean Buttercream Flowers
Y’all probably know I am super keen on Teh Tweeter, and hang out there quite a bit. I also have my Tumblr that I go through phases on, though you can never tell when that is or isn’t, because I have it scheduled to post three times a day every day, and one epic Tumblr spree maxes out my 300 posts you’re allowed to pre-schedule

In Which Humanity Humans Well
IDK about you but last week I was in a really negative headspace, and it’s lingering through to this week (though today has been better and honestly a lot of it is probably food-caused, urgh). So I really needed a reminder that not all humans, particularly Famous Ones, are walking garbage fires.
So. In the interests of buoying my own spirits, and hopefully also yours, I present for your personal edification, Humanity Humaning Well. IDK, I feel like this needs to become a regular feature, tbh....
