A TIME TO RETHINK - A FREESTYLE RANT BY A.H. SCOTT
"RANT ON - Trust isn't like tissue paper. It isn't used to blow my nose with when I feel a sneeze coming on. It's not going to be discarded into the trash with my snot of indifference or carelessness for your feelings upon it. Human beings are always looking for a connection to another. Whether we want to admit it or not. That is something that propels us forward in our relationships. Trust is a bond of me saying that I will never betray a confidence you tell me. And, I in turn trust in knowing that you have a moral compass in not ratting me out to anyone else. Trust is not static. Trust is singular and constant. There is no middle ground of thinking or believing you will turn you back on me. Those of our blood may never truly deserve our trust, for they know how to make the deepest cuts in our psyches. They can get inside of our hearts and twist the knife with a gusto of a Spanish inquisitor. Cynics are cloistered in the belief that the whole world is out to shaft them, in one way or another. There are moments that this is true. Yet, with age, we've all learned to weed out the leeches, liars and nerve-wreckers in our lives. Trust me, he or she might say; as the scam of business or personal dealings come your way. Yet, that tinge of yellow in the corner of our weary eyes can detect the conversation of such slick words. Your eyes won't lie to you, if you trust you instincts. Trust your own mind and the bond of truth can become unbreakable.....- RANT OVER" - 1/3/12

The Touch
Touch of his hand against mine at sunset was divine Not some overheated twisting of passion was needed by either of us
It was nice to know a man whose hands could be so light upon my skin
His fingers traced my cheek, then my lips and I laughed in response
Touch me as we stand along the shore and I'm yours forevermore
Tenderness has a weight that a torrid tangle can never compete with
Sun's going down against the horizon
I walk with you and you place your muscular arm around my shoulder
I touch you with a peck upon your cheek
And you laugh in response to me.....
That single touch from you was all that I hoped it would be ...

I QUIT
I quit. I quit the race. I quit the competition. My legs are short. My hands are too small. My age is too old. My bones creak. My marrow is weak. My brain is drained. My options are liquidated.

My wisdom is rolling away like a wave off a sandy beach. My longing for acceptance is never within reach
.
I shake the fabric of white and brace for cover.I'm done and passed over.

It's over.
But, suddenly here it comes across the horizon.I won.

I'm me.
If you don't like it, move along.If you like it, then hear my song.
Flesh not like a girl of her twenties.Or even a certain type of bunny
.
No, I'm not jealous.But, I can produce a pout to myself when need be.I use my wit and biting charm sarcastically.

I may never be the one that's the sexiest, prettiest or lightest on my feet as I glide across the dance floor to a throbbing urban beat.But, then again, a rhythmic sway in a crowded club isn't such a life altering feat



Peel my skin off and be enraptured by my mindAnd, when you see my skeleton, please be kind
But, damn it's the way God got me built..;)
