TEMPERED TRYST - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

Image may contain: one or more people, people playing musical instruments, beard and indoor

Tempered Tryst

Seated wearing only anticipation at her vanity, she saw his outline in the doorway
His mind was refreshed and flesh cleansed from showering away that hectic day
Atomizer compressed with ease
Evelina senses the tease
Ribbon of Samsara against hip and breast
Aria of the little sparrow muses on Victrola nearby, as needle in groove reaches conquest
Alistair nodded his head in ode to approve
Her cheeks beamed, both above and below
Alistair makes a sly move, as she knows he has nothing to prove
Solo violinist with the London Philharmonic he was
Hands of this craftsman made being touched by him a must
Evelina motioned left hand upon his on her shoulder
She asked, “Will we be late if we hesitate?”
He answered with a kiss to her hand, “Timing’s perfect, because I’m the star of that band”.
Body soft and hair of raven’s feather, she stood up from that red velvet chair
Nimble fingers of his danced on skin so fair
Evelina’s arms listlessly hung around his neck
If he was the star performer, she would be giving him the best he could get
Her legs curled around his robed body
She knew him being nude wouldn’t be tardy
Robe fell to the floor as he desired to have her more and more and more
Beneath Tiffany lamplight, came a bold entanglement of might
Thrusting…accepting….mutual percepting
Gold-threaded bedding met disarray with every muscle they moved
Chimes from the Cathedral blocks away clanged half a dozen times
Evelina was the meringue to his lemon, as she rested atop of Alistair with ease
This was a comfort each had with one another
Another squeeze of atomizer freshened this flourished rose for their departure
Stage door was where they kissed once more
On the marquee were upcoming artists for both their eyes to see
Not Jagger, nor Plant, or even Bowie was he
But, boy oh boy, Alistair filled Evelina with girlish excitement
“But, you don’t play rock”, Evelina commented
Alistair played coy, “Uh-uh, baby…I play Bach”
Stage door closed and she took her seat in row three
Primary strains of Bach began, as the curtain rose and lights dimmed
For a certain woman who smiled, her heart was filled with glee
Evellina and Alistair encountered a tempered tryst in London’s East End in flat number three

HUBRIS TAKES A POWDER - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Hubris is hell's fragrance. Empires that have crumbled have used it as an essence to spray upon the peaks and valleys of their lands. Bigger and better, the Empire beats its chest with a carnivorous chant. Alas, the only being that smiles in the end is Lucifer. For he is knows mankind's self destruction is always at hand. Hubris is arrogance's aroma. Whence we can sniff the air and its acrid scent scorches our nostrils and lungs; it will be too late for us all. Hell be damned! Hubris be gone! Never to set upon this Empire which seems so strong! Empires crumble. History always repeats itself.." - A.H. Scott 1/21/12

A few words about the phenomenal Tony Ward from yours truly, A.H. Scott:

"Darkroom develops art which is timeless. Even when flesh and bone become ash, it reflects on who Tony Ward is. Rebel yell is serenity's bliss. Got many years of living to go. Man of many talents has miles of teaching and observing the human flow. Those small minds may wonder if the old man can keep up. When Mr. Ward whips out that big lens of his, he shuts the nonbelievers up..." - A.H. Scott

Legendary lion of the lens Tony Ward and provocatress of prose A.H. Scott have teamed up in a revelatory collaboration of image and words.

COLLABORATIONS: "LETTERS TO MY BULLY - THE ANTHOLOGY"

Image may contain: 1 person, closeup and text

"I am proud to be a contributor to this anthology. "Letters To My Bully" sheds light on the soul crushing issue of bullying. It doesn't sugar coat the problem. It faces it head on. And, provides a pathway for all who are, or have been bullied in life. Glover Lane Press and Azaan Kamau have gathered together contributors from all walks of life to show that we all have constructed "Letters To My Bully" in some ways along our lives. This book is just the culmination of life's outpouring of emotion and reflection. Stand UP To Bullying! Stand UP For YOU..!" - A.H. Scott

********************
Letters to My Bully is a thought-provoking collection of letters, poetry and essays written by youth, women, men, seniors and celebrities that will change the way this country views survivors forever...

*******************

Why a Letter to a Bully?

Every day in America, 160,000 students miss school due to bullying. According to reports by the Secret Service, two-thirds of school shootings are motivated by bullying. A whopping 43% of middle school children avoid the bathroom and locker rooms at all costs due to certainty of being bullied. And finally, the number one reason for suicides among youth ages 11-16 is bullying.

Glover Lane Press’ historical anthology, Letters to My Bully, not only gives victims of bullying an outlet to express the impact of bullying in their lives, contributors speak on solutions to the problem and offer healing advice to survivors. Letters to My Bully is a thought-provoking collection of letters, poetry and essays written by youth, women, men, seniors and celebrities that will change the way this country views survivors forever.

“As a survivor of bullying, I wanted to do a project that would not only help victims heal but would help to educate the masses on how serious this issue is. I define bullying as abuse, mistreatment, torment and harassment by peers, classmates, neighbors, the congregation, siblings, parents, boyfriend, your spouse, etc. This is an issue that America must make a priority as it relates to social justice and peace movements.” Says Glover Lane Press publisher, Azaan Kamau

“Letters to My Bully is an excellent tool for ministers, teachers, community leaders, parents, teens and youth to educate those around them about the dangers of bullying. Until everybody, everywhere is addressing this issue in some form, it will continue to plague our great nation.” Says Ifalade Ta'Shia Asanti

Letters to My Bully includes contributions by Actor, Robert LaSardo and Huffington Post writer, Kergan Edwards-Stout, as well as more than a dozen other best-selling, nationally celebrated writers. There are also pieces written by child survivors and senior citizens.

Letters to My Bully is proud to be supported by national Peace Partners who have committed to ensuring the message of this anthology will reach the masses.

To Those Who Said Never
To those who said neverI say have a grain of faithTo those who said faith is nowhere to be foundI say faith is in the sky and on the groundFrom the blues of various hues and flora of heaven's rainbow aliveTo those who said neverI say to them , wait for the change in the weatherTo those who said never about changes to comeI say look to the sky and see the smiling sun...

WRITE ON! - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

Image may contain: text

WRITE ON!!

If you're happy - WRITE ON
If you're sad - WRITE ON
If tears of fear are rolling down your cheeks - WRITE ON
If tears of joy are making your spirits soar - WRITE ON
If backs are turning away from you - WRITE ON
If opportunities are starting brand new - WRITE ON
If a smile is sticking around for a while - WRITE ON
If a frown is spinning your world down - WRITE ON
If a hug is nowhere near - WRITE ON
If a kiss on the cheek is at it's peak - WRITE ON
If you want to free yourself from your past woes - WRITE ON
If something new is right before your nose - WRITE ON
If knots are in your stomach into venturing into the unknown - WRITE ON
If you feel the fire in your gut to take on the world - WRITE ON
If the Devil is grinding ya' down - WRITE ON
If the angels are lifting ya' higher - WRITE ON
If any of these words I wrote you may agree, then I pump a fist in solidarity
And, from me to thee, two words come freely - RIGHT ON!!!!
