BRICK BY BRICK, THE CLIMB IS YOURS - A QUOTE BY A.H. SCOTT

"Confidence doesn't come easy. You have to focus on what you want and work every day to achieve it. I guess you build on it brick by brick. Maybe someday you'll be able to climb over that wall of self doubt completely and leap off into the brand new world of peacefulness. Until then, use the mortar of equality in how you treat others and yourself to construct a place your heart, mind, body & soul can embrace." - A.H. Scott

ALL THAT - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

All That
Silly faces I make to get you to smile
I am all that
The girl who is now a woman has your eyes on me
I am all that
My heart is full of sweet release and light flair.....
I am all that
My body is alive in ways I never thought possible
I am all that
That invisible connection you and I share is there
I am all that
Not pretending I'm Einstein's prodigy
I am all that
With a mind of my own and a style a little off kilter
I am all that
Getting a rise out of you when try something new
I am all that
Against the grain, I don't want to bring you pain
I am all that
Lips of honesty are yours for the taking
I am all that
Headstands on the beach, we each make a dare
I am all that
Your arms so warm, begin to hold me near
I am all that
Wondering if I am the one who put a happy grin on that face
I am all that
Letting myself lose in your midst, is a rainbow of bliss
I am all that
Making love on a beach, I never thought it would be me
I am all that
I AM FREE....
And, that's all I ever wanted to be
ME

FASCINATION - A POEM BY A.H SCOTT
[image error]
FASCINATION
Was it the way he looked?
Was it the way he talked?
Was it the confidence that he exuded when he walked?
Or, was it just a daydream I had as I rang up the cash register?
Conveyor belt rolled forward with a few items of insignificance
Mentos, kiwis, French bread and a pound of Swiss passed my eyes
As each item beeped, I nodded to an internal beat
Then, his voice captured my ears
Fascination's fantasy in the flesh appeared
He had this smile that perked up my boring day
Two words passed his lips, "Red wine".
"Sorry, we don't sell red wine, sir" ,I softly said.
He chuckled a bit and added, "Not for my purchase, lovely lady. But, for you to have dinner with me tonight".
"I get off at 7".
Ooops, maybe I shouldn't have gushed so giddily
He was charmed by that line and said two words to me, "Most definitely".
Scooping up the items into a bag, I handed him his change and he lightly squeezed my hand
He asked my name and I got his too
As he walked out, a pair of words left my mouth, "Most definitely".
Turning around and smiling at me, "After 7, getting off definitely will be".
Oh, Fascination take me away.....
7 on the dot
He took me away and a midnight kiss hit the spot..............

BYE BYE YESTERDAY - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

Bye Bye Yesterday!
The road's open and so is my mind
My sturdy boots match my determination
Past is history
I tuck it in my back pocket
Present is the road I walk today
Forward goes my imagination
Those fond and friend are held in my heart
Gotta move on.....gotta make a new start
Don't know what tomorrow holds
But, one thing I am sure as hell certain of is this - BYE, BYE YESTERDAY!!
I know your song of restrictions and contradictions all too well and - YOU WON'T BE MISSED!!

OF SOLES AND DREAMS - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

OF SOLES AND DREAMS
My slipper!
My slipper!
Oh, where did it go?
My heart is beating so
I met the Prince tonight
Could my dreams ever go right?
My dreams are like pumpkin seeds
Not a carriage to take me back to the shack where I live
But, my soles are solid enough to survive any fit
Glass slipper was made for a woman of worth
My feet have known only shabby sandals that are covered with dirt
Maybe I could be the one a Prince might see as sparkling
After all, when we waltzed across the shimmering marble floor, he was quite charming
I'm not to the manor borne
I'm just plain Cindy with a raggedy frock which is worn out and torn
No fairy dust can make me a Queen
Yet, in my heart I know being royalty ain't all it's cracked up to be
People bowin' and curtsyin' like Weebles on speed
Let me hold onto my pumpkin seeds
Carriage is a myth to come to bear
I'm a dreamer, not a schemer
Prince Charming is a dream
But, I like being awake to see the twinkling stars tonight
Let me be ME.....just Cindy!!

SECRETS ALWAYS SURFACE, SOONER OR LATER - "OVER MY HEAD" BY A.H, SCOTT
[image error]
Debt leads to desire. Desire leads to danger. Danger leads to a dormant disguise. Disguises dissolve and devotion's claw rips through society's satiny facade.
Lies and secrets are like molecules of fat. They always rise to the surface.
Lawrence Chase owed a debt. His wife, Angela, decides to take a gamble of her own, which leads to places that unseen consequences roam. What begins as a bargain of assisting a spouse with a problem, takes a woman down a rocky road of self reflection, desire and unraveling a secret from the past.
Looking at a portrait of a man and wife, the fractures of a marriage aren't easily seen. Smile and supportive caress hide the barren wasteland of a relationship. Desire can take us to places that the heart can never capture. A simple hand out to a stranger can be all that a lonely person could ever need. Even if it came from an unexpected source.
Man of varied lies and devilish alibis has snaked his way into the lives of this couple. Before either knows it, they are submerged in something beyond their control. For what was a frivolous flirtation, became a shower of a heart's hidden obsession onto a floor of doom's dance.
Sexy brunette with a pouting sense of privilege, Angela Carter Chase is the spoiled daughter of tycoon, Arthur Carter. Yet, daddy's dimes couldn't protect her from what she'd become immersed in.
It leads her to a culminating moment of wondering to stay afloat in a marriage's rickety vessel of distress or forever going "Over My Head".
Singular event on a sexually charged night with Angela Chase at it's core, turns from a bubblegum pop song of simplicity into a Wagnerian symphony of doom within the pages of "Over My Head".
A wife. A husband. A lover.
Sex. Money. Power. Lies. Obsession. Murder.
No one gets out of this life without paying a price.
Devotion came in a single kiss.

BREEZY - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

BREEZY
Along the avenuesDown the side streetsAround the corner, here and thereSlices of life can't be beatMoving quickly as morning routines take shapeIf I'm craving a corn muffin for a speedy brrakfast, can the jam I choose be grape? Feet move quicker down this streetGot places to be and maybe some old or new people to meetLooking at the time, gotta go and not move slowI'm breezy with my NYC glow

AN UNKNOWN MAN - A POEM BY A.H. SCOTT

And, there he was:
AN UNKNOWN MAN
Overlook him, if you mayYet, if you do - this may be you somedayPer chance of fate or an unspoken opportunity evaded or lostHe is a child of God and should be afforded the costNot of opening a wallet, purse or hand dug deep into your pocketFrom you to him, nothing would be lostEvery soul is worthy of dignity
