ERIN TOBEY & FULL SUN on Southeast/East Coast tour this week!

If you live between the Gulf Of Mexico and New England, go see Erin Tobey and Full Sun on tour from May 16-25!

Erin Tobey is one of my favorite songwriters in underground music, in addition to being an amazing visual artist and one of my favorite human beings. Over the years she's been a part of Abe Froman, Mt. Gigantic, Pink Razors, Fat Shadow, and sometimes Tammar . She'll have a series of new screenprints available on tour, and is recording a much-anticipated second solo album this year.


Full Sun is the solo endeavor of Jeff Grant (also of The Sands, Fat Shadow, Pink Razors, and Stop It!!), and will be touring as a two-people-and-a-hologram band-- not to be missed! He's got a new cassette and a brand-new 7" for this tour.

Lost SAM COOKE biography comic book pages!

From the vault-- in 2008 (after finishing Swallow Me Whole ), I teamed up with writers Chris Stevens and Jason Rodriguez for a potential graphic novel biography of soul legend Sam Cooke . I penciled an 8-page demo sequence, but the project was derailed at that point. Chris now runs Philadelphia's own Locust Moon Comics, and just posted the complete demo sequence-- check it out here.

 I've got a bunch of new original pieces for sale at my Etsy store: the covers to Tiny Giants and The Year Of The Beasts , out-of-print illustrations, signed books with super-limited color bookplates, and rare, one-of-a-kind Ursula K LeGuin illustrations for a forthcoming documentary, unavailable elsewhere!

SPACE in Columbus OH this weekend!

If you're in the Midwest, come to SPACE (Small Press Alternative Comics Expo) in Columbus OH this weekend (April 13-14)! It's at the Ramada Hotel (4900 Sinclair Rd.), Sat. 10-6 and Sun. 10-5.

In addition to all my books, I'll also be selling a ton of original artwork. (Here are some pages at my new Etsy store!)

On Sunday the 14th at 1:00 pm, I'll be part of a "Memoir Comics" panel with John Porcellino, Tom Hart, Chris Monday, and Dara Naraghi. See you there!

Site problems!

It turns out that most of this site (not counting the blog/news section) has been broken for upwards of two weeks now, as well as my publisher Top Shelf's site. This is due to an undisclosed server migration problem, and nobody seems to know when any of these things will be fixed.

If you want/need any info on books or projects, please search through these blog entries to find what you may need. If you'd like to order books or artwork directly from me, or need any info, you can email me at seemybrotherdance@yahoo.com.

* June 7: Bloomington IN-- new exhibit up at The Owlery for all of June. Opening reception on the 7th from 10pm-1am!

* June 11: Washington DC-- Search For Common Ground panel w/ John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and others TBA. More info soon!

* June 29-30: Chicago IL-- ALA Annual Conference. I'll be presenting with Congressman John Lewis and Andrew Aydin as keynote speakers, and will have other presentations and signings throughout the weekend as well. More info soon!

* July 18-21: San Diego CA-- Comic-Con International, at the Top Shelf booth (#1721). It's the grand debut of March: Book One ! More events/panels TBA.

* August 13: March: Book One is available at bookstores everywhere, and at comic book stores on the 14th!

Interview with ELI V MANUSCRIPT in the Providence Phoenix

Here's a enlightening interview with Eli V Manuscript, AKA Eli Milholland-- lifelong best friend, performer in Humanbeast/ V Manuscript/ Tem Eyos Ki/ Soophie Nun Squad, and in recent years a writer as well.

Eli has a new book of writings out, Madness Of The Canary , available here, and is finishing work on a new Humanbeast album entitled Pantheon (with his other half, Maralie Armstrong-Rial ) to be released in coming months on Load Records, while releasing more music on his own Gross Domestic Product label.
