MARCH interview on The Rachel Maddow Show!

On November 7th, I was honored to speak with Rachel Maddow on her show, alongside my March co-writers John Lewis & Andrew Aydin. Here's Top Shelf's coverage of the evening, and here is the interview from the show.

gettin' mic'd.
March: Book One shot to the #12 best-selling book on Amazon for much of the next day, and the limited hardcover printing sold out completely the next morning. Thanks so much for the support and interest!

All three of us will be at the Miami International Book Fair from November 21-23... more info on that in the next few days.

Donating artwork sales this week to help Steve Niles!

Comic book writer extraordinaire, friend, all-around great fellow, and musician Steve Niles (writer of 30 Days Of Night, Criminal Macabre, co-publisher of Black Mask Studios, and bassist for Gray Matter and 3) needs your help! His house was deeply damaged by floods over the weekend , decades of priceless artwork, books, scripts, and household belongings were destroyed, and he is without flood insurance. Donations are currently being collected via paypal to HelpSteveNiles@gmail.com.

For the rest of the week, I'll be donating most of my artwork sales to help Steve out-- please visit my Etsy site, where there are a few dozen pieces to choose from. Thanks so much, and spread the word!

SPX recap!

Last weekend was my 10th year attending the Small Press Expo, and each year most of us return home inspired and burning to work. It was so good to spend quality time with some of my favorite cartoonist folks, solidify excellent and promising new friendships, and bring the March whirlwind home to such an indie comics hub.

Tearing up some veggie burgers with John Lewis between signings and panels.
SPX doubled its floor space this year, and still felt busier and more crowded than ever!
Quality time with Caitlin McGurk and Garfield at the Billy Ireland Museum of Cartoon Art.
A necessary and delightful afternoon in the Appalachian countryside with Jon Vance and his awesome family.
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at the Black Cat 20th Anniversary show in DC.
Gray Matter reunion show! Black Cat 20th anniversary in DC.
Longtime homie Farel Dalrymple! Solid time with the exceptional Katie Skelly.
Straight-up wizard Dash Shaw.
Look what the cat dragged in: Little Rock ex-pat James Brady (of Trusty) and his son!
Top Shelf design wizard Chris Ross, publisher/editor Chris Staros, and CBLDF warrior Charles Brownstein.

limited, autographed MARCH etchings now available!

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the Decatur Book Festival last weekend-- it was an amazing experience. Lots of feedback and discussion, a sold-out crowd at our keynote presentation, a very engaging Q&A at my panel on Saturday, and literally hundreds of people lining up in the heat (or the rain) to get books signed. Thank you!

I do have a handful of limited-edition MARCH photogravure prints, signed by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and I. They're made by the fine folks at Straw Hat Press in Atlanta, and are limited to 100 copies. My personal copies are numbered somewhere in the 80's and 90's, and are available here from my Etsy site.

They'll go very quickly-- PLEASE ORDER HERE if you're interested. Thanks so much!
