Chatting with Patches tonight

Settling down for a long chat with Patches tonight, Mikael's Feral alter-ego. After getting the ending of the trilogy down on proverbial paper, I realized I needed to flesh Patches out more if I wanted the ending to work right. While most of my characters don't require much research outside my own imagination, this one will require some actual research on pack mentalities and the like. It's amazing the random stuff you find yourself studying during the writing process. Still on track for the second 'Death's Edge' novel by Christmas. Talk to you guys later!

Keeping you in the loop

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Lots of exciting developments on the horizon. These last couple months have revolved around re-branding all my novel covers, updating their formatting  and uploading their latest editions.  They are all now up on my website, as well as other major vendors, if you'd like to check out the new cover art.

Beyond the Edge, the second novel in my Claws and Steel Series, will hit  the electronic and paperback shelves before Christmas.  Death's Edge (the first novel in that series)   will be available for purchase at a discounted price,  so stay tuned for these special  holiday deals.

I'm fighting a bug at the moment, a unfortunate byproduct of my family's Thanksgiving reunion, but thankfully writing is a passion I can do just as well when I'm sick (for the most part).  I wish you all the happiest of holidays and I will be in touch again very soon!

Worldcon 2015

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity of attending this year's  World Science Fiction Convention in Spokane, Washington.  I guess you could say I once again caught the 'convention' fever. I loved the panels, hosted by experienced writers and the chance to pick their brains on every writing subject under the sun.

If anyone out there is toying with the idea of becoming a professional writer,  I highly recommend  checking out  a local  science fiction or fantasy convention.   When I first  started going to the conventions, I was heavily focused on going to panels and absorbing as much information as possible. Now, things are shifting towards networking and meeting new people. I can't wait  until November, when the Oregon Science Fiction Convention kicks into gear.  There's a lot going on this fall, stay tuned for more!

Coming Fall of 2015: The First Strain

Picture I'm currently in the final draft of 'The First Strain', an action-packed tale of a  viral outbreak of apocalyptic proportions. Check out the description below and stay tuned for more teasers and free samples.

'The way to safety careens through terrified mobs, ravenous infected and murderous thieves. Even an egocentric loner like Trevian needs allies to survive, though they are rarely on the same page and steeped in their own agendas. They flee through the perilous streets of New York City and into the ominous Pine Barrens of New Jersey, where Trevian faces the most terrifying threat of them all.

His ex-girlfriend.'

Progress Report

Hi everyone, I thought I give you all an update of what's going on over the summer. I just reached the fifty-page mark on my rough draft for the third 'Claws and Steel' book.  Still working on the climax,  'cause somehow it's got to top the events of the second book, which were about as epic as they come.

A new series, 'Corrupted Genes',  will be coming out this fall. This is my first exploration into a zombie riddled post-apocalyptic universe. If all goes well, I'm hoping to launch the entire trilogy at once, but some of that plan depends on how well the cover and editing portions of the process go.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer. I'll be in touch soon!

'Beyond the Edge' coming this fall

'Mikael's arrival brought us so much hope. I thought his time with us would save lives and guarantee our village's survival. Surely one such as him could only be sent by the Gods. But we were wrong, as we  learned so well in blood and  fire. The Alurch we've worshiped for centuries aren't Gods at all, but to survive their wrath, we will need a miracle.'

'Splintered Loyalties' has finally arrived.

Picture Check out the latest epic fantasy installment to the Shattered Realms Series, just click  here

'Keevan's Persuader training is tested against the Rhetan rebellion festering in Issamere's catacombs. Not only are Issamere's starving poor driven to the point of desperation against the Etrendi, but they have a mysterious financier with access to powerful Danica weapons. Keevan's elemental vision grants him a vital tool in tracking the deadly cargo, but openly marks him as a target to Etrendi and Rhetan alike.

In his quest for truth about the enemy's plans and resources, Keevan inadvertently uncovers a dark secret about the Malik himself. One long buried in blood. The price for the Malik's trust will cost Keevan dearly, for none who knows the Malik's secret may live, unless they offer the steepest of prices…'

If you haven't had the chance to get into the series yet, a free sample of the first novel, 'Unseen Secrets', is available on the 'Free Stuff' page.  Check it out now and share this epic adventure with your friends!

'Splintered Realms' Coming within the week

"My mission to protect the Sight Seeker took away my wealth, my family legacy and my home, yet it granted me the richest of blessings. The lavish rewards for completing this mission, robbed me of what I cherished most."

Picture Here's a short story that grew out of an exploration of the new players arriving in the next installment of the 'Claws and Steel' Series.

'Samuel awakes from a forced landing on the Rocky Mountain's harsh western slopes. The First Echelon's missiles made short work of their attempt to join the rebellion. His wife, Lisa, lies unconscious but breathing. In a cruel twist of fate, only one vial of the miraculous Everbreathe remains.

Will Samuel choose to die for his love, or grant her the gift of life, at the expense of his own?'

Also includes a free sample of 'Death's Edge', the first book in the 'Claws and Steel' Series.

Teaser for the coming short story, 'Path of the Demigod'.

"I pick up the knife, reading the words 'Stainless steel', engraved along the blade. I bite back a laugh. The 'Gods' still use English, so many centuries after civilization's demise. Another truth I must keep to myself. Along the Edge, only the 'chosen' can read the godly tongue.

After centuries as a 'demonic' feral, I'm as far from 'chosen' as a man can get. Some nights though, I really miss my fur."

Mikael Christopherson
From the short story 'The Path of the Demigod', coming soon.
Meanwhile, read more about Mikael in my latest post-apocalyptic novel, 'Death's Edge'.
