How to Melt Stuff in Photoshop and Next Year's Goals

Why I Love Graphics Design

When I first got involved in publishing, I convinced myself I could never design my own cover. I wasn't artistic enough. I didn't have the time to get a four or six-year art degree, on top of building a publishing platform for my fiction.

I was so amazed when I found out just how easy it really is to use the tools of Photoshop (or Gimp) to create beautiful artwork. While there may be some projects which still require a professional   artist, I can currently handle most covers myself.

Time to Melt a Crown

Today, I thought it would be fun to do a little experiment and show you guys just how easy it is to use some tools in Photoshop.  This one is called the 'Liquify' tool, and is surprisingly useful for, you guessed it, making stuff melt!

Upcoming Titles

With the new year on the horizon, here are my upcoming titles you should be watching out for. I may throw in some short fiction  as well, but these are the heavy hitters to keep in mind.

February 2017 - The second Claws and Steel Novel, "Beyond the Edge"
April 2017 - The third Corrupted Genes Novel, "The Final Strain"
May 2017 - The third Shattered Realms Novel, "Persuader's Might"

Are You a Writer?

If one of your new years resolutions is to start writing, or put your stories into print for the world to see, make sure to swing by my YouTube Channel, here

I've posted a couple dozen videos which provide basic overviews of marketing, writing, publishing and designing your own covers.  Feel free to leave any questions or comments  below any video, and I'll attend to them within twenty four hours.

That's All for Now

I hope you guys are having a wonderful week. I'll see you all next Thursday. Bye.

Giving Back

This week threw me some curve balls. Not only have their been complications at my job, but I was sick for a couple days this week, which really cut down on my productivity as far as writing was concerned. But, I still finished a short story in time to submit it to a local anthology and managed to top off my goals for  my YouTube Channel as well.

Recently, a few friends of mine have taking their first steps into the world of independent publishing.  This, along with my constant efforts to dig through my piles of notes on one publishing topic or another, has pushed me to  publish my advice and experiences on my YouTube Channel. This will be aimed primarily toward helping aspiring writers though, so if you're waiting for my next novel, make sure to stay tuned here or subscribe to my newsletter, rather than hop over to my YouTube Channel.

For those of you who are writers, check out more below.

Checking in

Hey everyone, I just wanted to check in real quick and let you know what's coming. I should have another creepy short story ready by Tuesday. I'm up to my neck in zombies right now (literally, the next novel coming out is full of them). The goal is to have "The Counter Strain" ready before Halloween, and so far I'm on track with that goal as well.

Next month I will be attending OryCon 2016 (The Oregon Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention) down in Portland, Oregon. If anyone is looking to bulk up their writing skills or just want to nerd-out with some fellow gamers and talented cosplayers, mark November 18-20th on your calendars. Great fun J

I hope you're all having a wonderful week, and I will talk to you again next Thursday.

Another Haloween Chill

Picture True to the chilling holiday season of October, I've  brought another eerie short story for anyone who believes music can't change your personality, particularly if the tune is of a supernatural origin...

"Laura's trip to the carnival carried all the wonders and intrigue a child could have asked for, except for a single tune she cannot get out of her head. This harmonica's melody carries within it one of humanity's most dire desires.

Too bad Laura's parents are vegans."

This very short story also includes a sample of S. B. Sebrick's apocalyptic novel 'The First Strain'. Click the image to learn more.

A New Short Story

Picture Hello again, everyone. I apologize for my absence these last few weeks. I was busily engaged (literally), and just got married a couple weeks ago!

Now that things are settling down, I'm back to the keyboard with some new projects coming your way.  I'd like to kick off the fall season with a new spine-tingling short story, A Christmas Wish

"Since Cole's grandfather passed away weeks before, Cole's thoughts are constantly plagued with the fear of death. Christmas is just around the corner, so Cole asks the most magical person in his universe for help: Santa Claus.

But when Cole opens his present, he finds a nightmare."

Worth Aging

Picture Samuel awakes from a forced landing on the Rocky Mountain's harsh western slopes. The First Echelon's missiles made short work of their attempt to join the rebellion. His wife, Lisa, lies unconscious but breathing. In a cruel twist of fate, only one vial of the miraculous Everbreathe remains.

Will Samuel choose to die for his love, or grant her the gift of life, at the expense of his own?

Hello, my fellow readers. Here's a touching tale derived from the background of my 'Claws and Steel' Series. I'll see you next Friday, with another wondrous tale in tow. Have a great weekend!
