Twin Flames: What Are They Really?

A reader emailed me and asked if I had any thoughts on Twin Flames. It turns out I do. I asked her if she had any specific questions and she sent me this: I started to write a blog post but got stuck trying to make it appealing to everyone. I sat on it for […]

New song “Intrusive Thoughts” released

I’m excited to release a new single from my music project Starbound Renegade. The song is titled “Intrusive Thoughts” and it’s about OCD and overthinking. My gf turned me onto some post punk and goth rock and I was inspired to make a song in that vein. I wrote the lyrics and programmed the vocals into Synth V Studio Basic. You can find the song on Soundcloud, Spotify, YouTube, and anywhere else you can find music. I hope you enjoy the track as much as I enjoyed producing it! Starbound Renegade · Intrusive Thoughts Lyrics: [Intro]Save myself, from myself [Verse…

How AI Tools Can Assist You as a Creator

My latest Starbound Renegade single has been released! It’s called Just a Sloth on a Mystical Journey and I used AI tools to help me create it. If you haven’t noticed, AI tools like ChatGPT have been taking the world by storm the last few months (for better or worse). I got a chance to […]

I Used AI to Help Me Write This Song About a Sloth on a Mystical Journey

My latest Starbound Renegade single has been released! It’s called Just a Sloth on a Mystical Journey and I used AI tools to help me create it. If you haven’t noticed, AI tools like ChatGPT have been taking the world by storm the last few months (for better or worse). I got a chance to tinker around with Midjourney back in November to much horror and delight. And I finally got around to trying out ChatGPT to my utter amazement. The topic of Artificial Intelligence is very trendy and controversial right now. I’ve been following the culture war regarding artists…

New Website Launched!

It’s been awhile but I finally redid my website. I was using the Salient theme for WordPress for the last few years and have really liked it. But as WordPress continues to evolve with their new block editor, I was still using page builders and their classic editor and growing increasingly frustrated. I’ve flirted with redesigning my site several times over the years but have never pulled the trigger on anything. I’ve wanted something minimal and clean… something that makes it easy to update and enjoyable to use. I really wanted to try using Ghost or a flat-file static site…

Self-Exploitation, Creativity, and Capitalism

I was recently a guest on a new podcast from Brianna of ExistBetter.co. She offered up the initial premise of balancing a creative vs practical lifestyle and it turned into quite an in-depth conversation with big picture themes. This was so much fun to do. I love talking about this stuff. It was an honor to be Brianna’s first guest...

New Starbound Renegade Album “Polarized” Released

I’ve got some exciting news to share with you all – my new album “Polarized” is officially out! This is the third full album from my solo music project Starbound Renegade, produced from 2016-2021. Many of the songs have already been released as singles, but there are 6 new songs that I’m eager for you to hear. These songs came together by me re-imagining my favorite pop punk riffs in my own synthwave style, using the tools at my disposal (basically just FL Studio and 3rd party VSTs). I’m influenced by early 2000s pop punk, emo, metalcore, video game music,…

Can Spirituality and BDSM Exist Together?

I received a very thoughtful question from one of my readers about spirituality and its relationship with sex, kink, and BDSM. I thought I’d share the exchange (with permission) for others to see. Maybe it can provide some insight. Her Question: Hi Jeff! My name is [redacted]. I live in [the USA]. I am a wife and mom and also...

The Magic of Feeling Your Feelings

If there was ever a shortcut to personal/spiritual growth, feeling your feelings is it. But ironically, avoiding our actual feelings is what gets many of us on the personal growth path in the first place. We feel bad for whatever reason, so we start looking for ways to feel better. Once we’ve identified the external cause of our suffering, we’ll...
