Operation Auction – Helping a Romance Friend. . .

A few weeks ago, in an act of senseless violence, the husband of a romance enthusiast was shot and killed in North Carolina. Fatin Soufan has been a tireless supporter of the romance genre, as a reader, a reviewer, a blogger and a friend. In order to help out her and her family during this terrible time and after, romance authors, industry professionals and friends have organized or are participating in an auction to raise money for Fatin.

Autographed books, critiques, goodies, events and all sorts of things are being auctioned on eBay — here's the link:

Please consider bidding or buying an item if you can — you'll get a fabulous prize and it will help Fatin and her family. Thanks!

The Royal Wedding is coming!

Well, not THAT royal wedding but something to celebrate it anyway! To celebrate the upcoming nuptials of Wills and Kate on April 29, Harlequin Mills and Boon are releasing 7 short stories about other royal weddings - historical ones! Along with authors Michelle Willingham, Bronwyn Scott, Elizabeth Rolls, Lucy Ashford, Ann Lethbridge and Mary Nichols, we're featuring previous royals such as Prince Charlotte and Prince Leopold, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, King Richard and Princess Berengaria and more!

whattheduchesswants-april-2011-only This is my story about:

What the Duchess Wants by Terri Brisbin

Eleanor, Duchess of Aquitaine and Henry of Anjou (future Henry II), 1152

As one of Europe's most powerful women, Eleanor, Duchess of Aquitaine has a chance most can only dream of – to choose her own husband! One glance at the young, forceful Henry of Anjou and her choice is made.

Able to match her wit for wit, Henry's a true warrior and not afraid to disobey a royal command… But his love of life – and the bedroom – promise Eleanor a brand-new world of excitement!

I've included Eleanor and Henry in some of my previous Harlequin Historical romances so it was great to get the chance to go back to their real story and share that with readers!

There are seven stories altogether that will be available in digital-only formats at both the Harlequin US site and the Mills&Boon UK website on April 1st… I hope you'll give them a try!

Kidnapping the Laird – for Kindle and Nook, NOW!

terribrisbin_kidnappingthelaird_400px OMHIGOSH! Isn't it pretty?

I've decided to release KIDNAPPING THE LAIRD (from the recent collection of Mammoth Book of Scottish Romance) in digital formats for both the Amazon Kindle and the B&N Nook. Kim Killion (of Hot Damn Designs and author extraordinaire!) did the cover for me, using an actual photo from my trip to Scotland. See that little stone house — there! next to the gorgeous man's muscular arm? That was the inspiration for my story so I'm thrilled that Kim could use it.

So – what's this about? Well. . .

Catriona MacDonnell is a wife of convenience who discovers that she wants more from the handsome, sexy laird she had to marry.  Padruig Grant was not happy when his wife kicked him out of her bed, but his pride prevents him from returning to it. When Catriona takes matters…and her husband…into her own hands to claim the love they both deserve, should he resist her valiant efforts or should he surrender?

So, if you have a Kindle or Nook, I hope you'll give it a try!

BTW – I'll have an exciting bit of news soon about a special project coming from Harlequin Mills & Boon!

I know that had to grab your attention! A writing colleague is celebrating the release of her new book PLEASURE ME with a month-long blog event featuring lots of authors and giveaways. I'm today's guest and chatting about the inspiration I get from Gerard Butler — especially while writing my upcoming Harlequin Historical - HIS ENEMY'S DAUGHTER!

Stop over, post a comment — I'm doing a giveaway and so is she!  http://monicaburns.blogspot.com/2011/02/pleasure-me-with-terri-brisbin.html#more

Books and more Books!

My goodness! Between all the blogs I've been doing, I really haven't posted anything new here so I wanted to update things a bit –

mbo-scottish-cover-for-websites

January - NOW! - my short story "Kidnapping the Laird" is part of the huge anthology MAMMOTH BOOK OF SCOTTISH ROMANCE and it's on the shelves and available online now.  Isn't the cover just lovely? There are 21 stories in varying settings and time periods — something for everything! Mine is a historical about a marriage of convenience and what happens when the laird's wife decides she wants more.

Then coming in March is the final book in my Knights of Brittany series for Harlequin Historicals – hisenemysdaughter

HIS ENEMY'S DAUGHTER. This is an emotional, sexy story about a man whose life has been destroyed and the woman who could save him.. I based this hero partly on Gerard Butler in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA so he's hot! LOL!

I'll be blogging all over the place and doing chats, too, and I hope you will stop in and visit. I'll post more specifics as we get closer!

Terri

PS — Happy New Year!

Sneak Peek - Mistress of the Storm

It's not the final cover but my editors gave this to me over the weekend — isn't it simply stunning? It's a July 2011 release:

mistress-of-the-storm

The back cover blurb says:

An epic struggle for dominance is ravaging the Isle of Skye. And in its midst, a man and a woman are locked together by fate—and fantasy…

Odious though it is, Isabel knows what she must do: go to the one known as the Healer, seduce him, and recruit him to her power-hungry stepfather's cause. If she refuses, her innocent young sister will pay the terrible price of her disobedience. Yet after just one night with the man she must manipulate, it is clear to Isabel that even if she succeeds, the deceit will not leave her unscathed. For in the Healer's powerful arms, her heart is lost forever…

Duncan of Skye knows there are those who would use his unusual gift for their own selfish gain. Even so, he yearns to trust the beautiful temptress who warms his bed and fills him with insatiable passion. And when he must choose between her future and his own, he may have to risk everything—even his life…

What do you think?
