Every B2B Event Professional’s Dream…

UpD8r 3.0 and Salesforce Integration
Increase Event ROI by Tracking Leads and Event Activity Directly in Salesforce with UpD8r 3.0
London, UK, June 10, 2016 – London based, event technology experts Excelerated Apps have announced the release of their latest integration with Salesforce. As an added extension to their well-established existing platform, the Salesforce integration functionality enables event professionals to track each attendee’s event activity directly in Salesforce.
The integration, is a “two click” process and provides your sales team with real-time insights into what attendees are doing at your event. This process captures the relevant data to create highly personalised and timely follow-ups.
It’s no longer necessary to sift through spreadsheets and business cards trying to remember which opportunity came from which event. Using this technology, leads can be recorded with a simple tap of a RFID badge, while allowing the power of Salesforce to do what it does best.
Commenting on the release, managing director Richard Smith said: “Creating a B2B focused solution has always been part of our vision. Giving event professionals the ability to feed event data directly to their sales team, all in real time – is very exciting. We can’t wait to see how customers utilize it!”
We will be discussing and demonstrating the integration in more detail in our live webinar: Register Here.

Announcing The Advanced New Peugeot 3008 SUV

The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV
The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is the most advanced vehicle offered by the Brand to date
• It is the first model to feature the latest generation of PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with Amplify
• New models offer more interior space with compact exterior dimensions and class leading technology and safety features being lighter, more agile and fuel efficient than the outgoing model
• Paris Motor Show public debut in September, with UK orders from November for January deliveries
PEUGEOT is today announcing the new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV, its most advanced compact SUV. It brings new technology and a unique driving experience to the popular C-segment SUV market and will be revealed later this year at the Paris Motor Show in September.
Greater interior, passenger and luggage space
At just 4450mm in length, the new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is one of the most compact models in its segment, offering greater passenger and luggage space over the outgoing model. With a longer wheelbase and an overall length which is just 80mm longer than the current model, interior space has greatly improved, most notably for rear occupants who now have an additional 24mm legroom, 4mm elbow room and 36mm headroom. Front elbow space has also increased by 17mm despite the width of the new model being identical to the outgoing version at 1840mm, and height being 19mm lower at 1620mm.
Luggage space has also improved in the new 3008 SUV. With a luggage capacity of 520L (under the luggage cover), this is almost 90L bigger than the previous generation. Like the previous version, owners can remove the luggage cover and fold the second row of seats flat; this results in a total luggage capacity of 1580 litres, one of the largest and most versatile load capacities in the segment.
Reduced weight, improved driving experiences
Despite the improvements in passenger and luggage capacities, the new model is, on average, 100kg lighter than the previous generation versions. This has been achieved though intelligent design and use of materials to provide improved efficiency, better fuel economy, increased performance, a more dynamic driving experience and class leading safety. Very High Strength Steel (VHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) have been used in the vehicles construction, with a thermoplastic boot floor and tailgate and aluminium wings, front suspension arms and rear seat frames. More refined engines also allow for a reduction in sound-deadening materials.
To ensure owners and drivers can enjoy and exploit the full potential of their new 3008, the new model comes with the latest generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® which includes advanced sensory engagement for both driver and passengers.
Introducing the new PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with Amplify
The evolution of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® goes further as it features sensory buttons. Thus, and by simply pressing a dedicated key – next to the toggle buttons there is the opportunity to further enhance the driving experience: with i-Cockpit® Amplify. In this way, all the senses are immediately aroused:
– Sight – by varying the intensity of ambient lighting and the colour screens
– Hearing – via the musical ambiance settings
– Touch – via the multi-point massage embedded in the seats (with up to five programmes)
– Smell – via the aroma from the fragrance diffuser
In addition, like in the PEUGEOT 308, sight, touch and hearing benefit from the supplementary characteristics of the Driver Sport Pack.
Two environment ambiances are offered from launch: an atmospheric ‘Boost’ focused on an energised driving experience and a ‘Relax’ mood for a more relaxed driving environment. These two modes are completely selective and can transcend the pleasure of the driver and passengers to make the experience unique and unforgettable.
With Amplify, occupants are treated to three exclusive fragrances from internationally renowned perfumer, Scentys and Antoine Lie. This includes ‘Cosmic Leather’, a vibrant and sensory fragrance, ‘Aerodrive’, a lively and stimulating fragrance, and ‘Harmony Wood’, an authentic and relaxing fragrance. Fragrance diffusion is adjustable, with three levels of intensity.
Intelligent design to architectural service performance
The folding bench seat has a 2/3 – 1/3 ‘Magic Flat’ capability to optimise loading with a flat floor. The very original adaptable moving boot floor, initiated on the original 3008, has been evolved with two positions to allow the optimisation of boot space and removable side-panels that can be affixed to the side boot trim. For the carrying of long objects, the front passenger seat can be folded to allow a smaller width item of 3 metres to be carried (like skis) on all versions … This clever functionality can be further completed with a hands-free opening tailgate, allowing a simple gesture of the foot under the rear bumper to open or to close the motorised tailgate. In short, the ingenuity of the new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV allows many configurations.
Always-on connectivity
The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV responds to the driver’s need to stay connected while driving and the driver can navigate with confidence, due to facilities like MirrorScreen, induction Smartphone recharging (for equipment compatible with the Qi standard) and 3D connected navigation.
The 3D navigation stretches realism even further by displaying images of buildings and monuments, while taking into account the contours of the terrain. With a simple touch of a control knob on the steering wheel, it can be transferred from the touch-screen to the digital instrument unit for easier viewing. With TomTom® Traffic its connectivity gives real-time visibility of events essential to the journey and access to various other information: local weather, car-parks, service stations, etc. There is also an option to subscribe to TomTom® to receive reliable information on permanent danger areas and temporary risk areas reported by the Community.
With the Mirror Screen function, a Smartphone screen can be reproduced on the touch-screen to make best use of its applications. It is compatible with MirrorLink protocols (Android smartphones), Android Auto and Apple CarplayTM (iPhone 5 onwards). And with a simple touch of a button on the steering wheel, there is a remote voice recognition function through the smartphone (Android S-Voice and Apple Siri). Without taking the eyes off the road, and in complete safety, new possibilities are opened up to the driver: make calls, choose music, read and send text messages, get route information, in other words, permanent connectivity while in operation.
The PEUGEOT Connect pack, even greater possibilities are opened up in three areas: navigation, safety (Peugeot Connect SOS & Assistance) and maintenance (PEUGEOT Connect pack teleservices).
An automotive first
For the first time in history, technology from French acoustics specialist FOCAL® will be factory fitted to a production model. Recognised worldwide for its patented innovations and unique sonic sound, the 10 speaker system with exclusive FOCAL® technology will bring a pure and defined sound to occupants.
Included are mid-range woofers with Polyglass technology for balanced and clear sound and TNF tweeters with inverted aluminium dome technology for optimal sound output and clear high-pitched notes. A 200mm Power FlowerTM subwoofer features triple coil technology for clear and dynamic reproduction of low frequencies while an active 12-channel amplifier delivers 515 watts of rich sounds, fine high frequencies and genuinely powerful bass notes.
Mobility extended: with great innovation …
In a context where access to city centres is increasingly constrained, PEUGEOT is positioned as a provider of innovative solutions for mobility issues today. It is still the only brand developing vehicles with two, three or four wheels and for the launch of the new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV can offer its customers a new range of individual mobility solutions:
– A folding scooter with electric assist (e-Kick) by MICRO
– A folding bike with electric assistance (e-Bike) by PEUGEOT
This unique offering is designed for customers seeking additional mobility solutions to and from their vehicle to help them easily make the latter stages of their journeys to their final destination. The daily life of a city dweller is transformed with the potential for much less stress, and possibly a bit of fun too.
Moreover, to ensure perfect integration into the boot and immediate availability, ‘dockstations’ hold the e-Kick or e-Bike in place in the boot and recharge the batteries while the vehicle is running.
A safer and more capable SUV
Technology has done more than just improve the driver and passenger experience and enjoyment; it has also improved safety with the next generation of safety systems and state-of-the-art driver aids.
Available on the new 3008 is Active Safety Brake and Distance Alert, a distance alert function (risk of collision warning) with automatic emergency braking (to avoid a collision or to limit the severity by reducing vehicle speed) and Active Involuntary Crossing Line, a lane departure alert for safer driving with visual and audible warnings and active vehicle control.
The new model also has the Driver Alert Warning function; with constant analysis of vehicle trajectory against road markings, it can then trigger several levels of audible and visual alerts and remind drivers to take a break after two hours of continuous driving and at a speed greater than 65km/h (40mph).
Additional to this are safety features such as Automatic High Beam Assistance, to automatically switch between high beam and low beam depending on the lighting conditions and oncoming traffic, Speed Sign Detection and Recommendation, standard on all trim levels, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop function, Active Blind Spot Monitoring System and Park Assist, which allows the vehicle to park itself with minimum input from the driver. Finally, Visiopark 1 & 2, with Visiopark 1 including a 180° view camera on the tailgate and Visiopark 2 adding the same camera to the front bumper for a complete 360° exterior vehicle view on the interior touch screen.
Designed to perform
The new 3008’s aerodynamic design has been optimised to deliver class leading efficiency, with an excellent CdA from 0.76dm2. Ultra Low Rolling Resistance (ULRR) tyres are also fitted as standard to all 3008s opted with 17” and 18” or even the larger 19’’ (205 55 R19) wheels, further enhancing the efficiency of the new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
A full range of performance engines
The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV comes with a range of fuel efficient Euro6.1 petrol and diesel engines.
Four petrol models are available, including the 1.2L PureTech 130 Stop&Start (S&S) with CO2 emission of just 115g/km:

Seeing your customer makes you better at your job

Chia-Jung Tsay, UCL School of Management
Seeing your customer makes you better at your job
The mere sight of a customer motivates you to do your job better, new research from UCL School of Management finds.
Assistant Professor Chia-Jung Tsay found that visual transparency between customers and providers improved service and performance, creating value for both.
She studied the food industry, with Ryan Buell and Tami Kim from Harvard Business School, and found that when chefs and their patrons can see each other, not only did the food quality receive higher ratings, service also improved.
The research suggests that seeing customers makes employees feel more appreciated, more satisfied with their jobs, and more willing to exert effort.
At the same time, seeing the workers allowed customers to perceive greater effort, and they became more appreciative of the employees and valued the service more.
“In many industries, effort is hidden from customers,” say the researchers. “But feelings about an office job that’s separate from the customer, for example, could change if suddenly the beneficiary of that work is visible.
“It’s being appreciated that makes people feel that their work is meaningful and what they do matters.”
The researchers suggest subtle alternations to create visual transparency between consumers and producers. By opening up the work environment, organisations can give processes meaning for customers and employees alike, promoting gains through improved customer satisfaction and loyalty, decreasing employee turnover, and increasing employees’ accountability to the customer.

Documentary How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change debuts June 27
HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE, JOSH FOX’S LOOK AT THE GLOBAL IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE, DEBUTS JUNE 27, EXCLUSIVELY ON HBO
Having exposed the risks posed by natural gas drilling, known as fracking, in the documentaries “Gasland” and “Gasland Part II,” Josh Fox was struck by a sobering thought: “We could beat the fossil-fuel industry, but we still might lose everything we love to climate change.”
Now, in HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE, he surveys the damage from possibly the greatest threat the world has ever faced, but also finds reasons for hope. Showing how people around the world are taking action to protect their communities, the timely documentary debuts MONDAY, JUNE 27 (9:00-11:10 p.m. ET/PT).
Other HBO playdates: June 30 (7:50 a.m., 5:15 p.m.) and July 3 (10:00 a.m.), 7 (12:30 a.m.), 13 (noon) and 16 (noon)
The documentary will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand.
After his Oscar®-nominated and Emmy®-winning film “Gasland” (followed by “Gasland Part II”) helped mobilize public opposition to fracking, Josh Fox noticed that his favorite Hemlock tree was dying from a parasite that has been advancing up the East Coast due to warmer winters, a consequence of human-induced climate change. That observation, combined with witnessing the destruction from Hurricane Sandy, served as a wake-up call for the filmmaker, who realized that even if the battle was won against fracking in his own backyard, there was a bigger war still to fight against global warming.
With his trademark humor, banjo in hand and signature investigative style, Fox travels to 12 countries on six continents and discovers that, while it may be too late to stop the worst consequences of climate change, there are sources of good news that must be supported and strengthened.
Fox ponders the effects of continued global warming, such as rising sea levels, record droughts, superstorms, dying coral reefs, species extinction, food insecurity and increased conflicts over limited resources. In this action-packed, music-fueled odyssey, he visits both leaders and everyday citizens – some of whom chose to remain anonymous when Fox is shooting undercover – in a search for meaning and the things worth fighting for.
He interviews climate scientists, experts and activists, including: environmental analyst Lester Brown, founder of Worldwatch Institute; Ella Chou, an expert on energy in both China and the U.S.; attorney and environmental activist Van Jones; Elizabeth Kolbert, author of “The Sixth Extinction”; Michael Mann, a climatologist and geophysicist at Penn State University; Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org; and Petra Tschakert, a professor of earth and environment at the University of Western Australia.
In the face of dire scientific predictions about negative impacts in the near future, as well as the testimony of individuals in communities suffering from climate change today, HOW TO LET GO asks, “What is it that climate change can’t destroy? What is so deep within us that no calamity can take it away?”
Fox concludes that courage, resilience, innovation, democracy and community are among the ideals that must thrive in order for people to weather the coming challenges. In fact, individuals in places as diverse as China, Africa, the Amazon, the Pacific and the U.S. are relying on these very qualities and basic civic values in their ongoing battles to save the planet and ourselves.
The final chapter in the “Gasland” trilogy, HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE is supported by and extended through the Let Go & Love Tour, which will travel to 100 cities across the country. Part of a bold distribution strategy that includes a theatrical release, the HBO presentation, screenings at prestigious film festivals around the country, including the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, and dozens of community screenings, the tour features Fox joined by experts, artists and local organizers to help communities embrace renewable energy solutions that promote decreased reliance on the fossil fuels that have precipitated global warming.
HOW TO LET GO OF THE WORLD AND LOVE ALL THE THINGS CLIMATE CAN’T CHANGE waswritten and directed by Josh Fox; produced by Deia Schlosberg, Josh Fox; edited by Annukka Lilja, Greg King. For HBO: senior producer, Nancy Abraham; executive producer, Sheila Nevins.

“Flint Water Crisis”: The water crisis in Flint, Mich. horrified the nation: A once-thriving industrial city had fallen on such hard times that residents couldn’t trust the water from their own taps.
