The magazine I mentioned in This Brilliant Darkness has a tumblr! Love this idea I found on their site:
Decorated with brightly colored wallpaper and pots of cheery flowers, Giveboxes are festive additions to Germany's city streets. The small structures, which look like a cross between a phone booth and a gardening shed, hold community-donated items that are free for the taking, says Dougal Squires on Slow Travel Berlin. Clothing, books, shoes, blankets, bags, lamps, glassware, and cologne are examples of the useful(ish) things up for grabs.
Neat idea! Keep reading …

Some photos I took of Bloomington and surrounding areas a few years ago, when I was hot into writing This Brilliant Darkness.
Find the above photo in the FB album I uploaded yesterday, and you'll find a spoiler for That Crackling Silence. If you are so inclined.
My main computer seems to be under the weather this morning, so bear with me if the updates are sparse for a bit.
(PS Yes, I think those are Mr. Mister lyrics! "Take…these broken wings…and learn to fly again…")

YOU REMEMBER THE HEART TRUTH FASHION SHOW I INVITED YOU TO LAST MONTH? WELL, ASIDE FROM RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT HEART DISEASE FOR WOMEN IT'S ALSO A CHANCE FOR DESIGNERS TO PRODUCE ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECES, MANY OF WHICH ARE THEN AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY. SO MAYBE IF YOU HADN'T BEEN SO DEAD SET ON SEEING RITA LIEFHEBBER'S FALL/WINTER COLLECTION YOU COULD HAVE OUTBID ME FOR THIS DRESS.
BUT YOU DIDN'T, AND NOW ONE OF US IS GOING TO THE FUNDRAISER IN OSCAR DE LA RENTA AND ONE OF US IS GOING IN … WHATEVER YOU'RE WEARING.

Spring is nearly here, and I'm ready to burst open with color, how about you?
I may put my Monday Funny on hiatus for a bit. I'll still do them, but for now, I've got more work to do than I can fit into my allotted time, so I'm trimming here and there.
And really, does the creative life have to be about routines & scheduling all the blasted time? I started scheduling things on my blog to jumpstart my web presence. I think the web has been sufficiently notified that I exist, at this point!
If you're a fan of the ninjas and the monkey, never fear—they'll be back. I am perennially surrounded by their inspiration, after all! :D
How about you? Got big plans for this Spring? How do you fit your projects into an otherwise crowded life?
