Good Morning, Sunshine!  Now, doesn’t this artwork just make you want to write something spectacular?  No?  How about compose some synthopop?  C’mon, you know you wanna!

I gotta hand it to austinjames:

Steampunk is amazing, I look forward to seeing the finished comic strip :)

Thanks very much!  It’s a collaboration with Axel Howerton, and it’s more than likely...

So far today I have worked on a steampunk comic script, finished a guest blog about the Star Trails subplot of This Brilliant Darkness and the Corner Cafe collection coming out soon…what’s next?  Oh, a little editing of a werewolf story.

Happy Monday!

Notes: I am stressed out. I drew a pretty picture to calm myself down. It didn’t really work.

Happy Sunday, my darlings, my fairy babies.

Wow, what an eventful weekend this has been.

Right now my head is spinning from all the preparations I need to make to sell the house I’m sitting in, and try to buy the house of my dreams ASAP.  Big deal, huh?

I’m also mentally juggling the writing workload right now.  I haven’t spoken openly about some of my projects, but I think the time has come to begin whispering about Joan of ARC.

You remember a few weeks/months ago when I posted a painting of Joan of Arc and asked why there’s no series based on a young woman named Joan who’s also a busy book blogger?  (Go look.  I’ll wait.)

Well, Axel Howerton does, because he called my bluff, and we’ve been busy ever since writing an action extravaganza about a Catholic schoolgirl on a cross-country rampage taking on aliens from the future, man.  I’m not shitting you.  We’d like to have that completed before the Coffin Hop rolls this fall.  (Follow Coffin Hop on Pinterest, won’t you?)

Working with Axel has been a pleasure.  If you’ve never read his work, get over to Smashwords or Amazon and download Living Dead at Zigfreidt & Roy right now!

Troll or Derby will be launching soon, and I think I’m finally satisfied with the cover:

I need to write acknowledgements and put some blurbs on the cover, then it’s off to the formatter.  Very exciting!  Can’t believe it’s taken four years to write and publish what I think of as an “easy” book.

Lately I’ve been trying to finish some projects under my serious journalist name, but those might go on hold, because I really need to move ASAP.  It’s worth taking a little time off work to complete the move that’ll make me so happy in the long-term.  Realize, when I say “time off work,” I have no idea what that means, because I write every day of my life and that won’t stop.  But I might set more “lax” goals until we get certain tasks done in the house.

I’d been working on That Crackling Silence, as well (sequel to This Brilliant Darkness), but thank heavens, I’m finding no problem whatsoever dropping right back down into that cast of characters, so I have every confidence Richard, Tom, Tristan, and Greachin will be ready to spill when the time comes to take that one on in hardcore earnest.  Oh, did I forget to mention someone?  Christine, maybe?  Or should I call her “Bill?”  Hrm.  In the words of River Song, spoilers, darling…it will be nice (closure!) to publish the second half, but it’s a story that’s still important to me, so I won’t rush it.  I want it to stand up to and surpass what readers have said about This Brilliant Darkness.  They deserve that.  If I have time/energy to fit it in in between Joan of Arc and packing/painting moving, then okay.  But no promises.

Loving life, loving you!  Thanks for being my reader, thanks for being my FRIEND!

OH!  Before I forget!  If you’ve been meaning to pick up This Brilliant Darkness, be advised: I raised the price to $3.99 the other night on Amazon, B&N, Apple, etc., but the price increase hasn’t filtered through yet, so FOR NOW, you can still download it for $2.99.  I don’t know how long that will last, though.

All my story buy links are here, including This Brilliant Darkness.
