The old gods used to walk among us.
Some still bear their noble blood. Most will never know it.
But
an ancient enemy grows restless. Conflict is brewing in Otherworld. The Sidhe’s
unloved part-human children, abandoned to the mortal world, are suddenly their
greatest source of hope.
***A series collection of the complete Of the Blood fantasy romance series. Otherworld romance with a dash of pixie dust. Five couples, one unforgettable adventure. ***
The series begins with Sworn by Blood…
Hazel
can’t help what she is. Being the daughter of a love god isn’t all fun and
games. She wants no part of her father’s world. Otherworld forests are full of
huge, scary creatures and annoying pixie pests. And the people there are no
better…they’ve never even given her a chance.
She
wants nothing to do with Sidhe men, either. Especially after that last time…
But
her effect on human men (and women, for that matter) makes a normal
relationship impossible, not to mention introducing some seriously awkward
situations.
Ian
has spent the last year on a fruitless mission to fulfill a family obligation
set long, long before his time. All he’s found is trouble. Now he needs the
love god’s help to see the end of this task and get back home. Until then, he’s
stuck beyond the veil in the human world, while plots against his future rule
thicken back in Underworld.
What
better way to bargain with a love god than through his daughter?
But
Hazel won’t be a pawn in Sidhe games. And Ian must make peace with his family’s
legacy; he must do it soon. Somehow, they’ll have to work together, before time
runs out.
This series collection includes the
following novels:

The old gods aren’t all kind, caring, or dependable.
They used to walk among us. Some still bear their noble blood. Most will never know it.
But after a hundred lost generations, conflict is brewing in Otherworld. The Sidhe’s unloved part-human children, abandoned to the mortal world, are suddenly their greatest source of hope.
Nathan has always felt more at home in the wilds than with other people. But he had no idea just how different he was.
When his long-absent father reveals he’s not of this world, it’s in tandem with even worse news. Nathan is on an Otherworld assassin’s hit list, and the only person stepping forward to help him just may be playing for the other side in the Sidhe Blood Wars.
Tessa isn’t sure where she stands. When a family secret is threatened, she’s determined to protect her own. She’s never approved of thinning Sidhe blood by mixing with humans. So what does she care if these half-humans are lost to an assassin?
But she has more in common with the young Lord of the Skies than she wants to admit. Maybe, together, they can keep the darkness pervading Otherworld at bay. Or maybe her attraction to this particular half-human will prove the undoing of all she knows.

Deep in the wildwood, an old power is stirring…
Alise thought she was ready for anything, until Otherworld almost undid her.
Drake watched it happen, and now he can’t seem to forget. He’s as surprised as anyone when he can’t get the raven-haired witch out of his mind. He’s accustomed to being the irresistible one.
Alise understands magic. She lives and breathes it. But she’s never dealt with anything like the magic in Otherworld. Not until she rushed to her best friend’s rescue and almost lost her wits to the Land of the Young. When she wakes up in Otherworld, a mysterious connection to the place haunts her. Her former life seems so far away…unreachable.
And she has a more immediate concern. She would never have expected to find Drake, notorious agent of the Sidhe Authority, sitting vigil for her. While she’s grateful, she’s not at all interested in that look in his eyes.
They’ve always clashed. The man doesn’t have a loyal bone in his body. And Alise isn’t the forgiving sort.
But things are different now. Peril hides in every Otherworld shadow, and a dangerous presence lurks in every strange dream…

Magic Is Everywhere
Hello readers and friends! I had a bit of a walk earlier, and after that I was milling around in my backyard when a couple of things popped out to me.
You know, it says in my bio that I’m always searching for the magic in our world, but the truth is that I stopped having to search for it a long time ago. It just shows itself now. I see signs and remark on the wonders of the natural world and all I learn from it as a constant practice.
So, today. First I saw the insect hive. I think it must belong to some sort of bee, or possibly a tiny hornet? I am no good with this sort of identification. [image error][image error]
But look at it, it’s so perfect except the top is removed. And it must have fallen, probably from the trees based on where I found it. However, I had to run back inside and get my phone to take a pic, and when I went back out the little hive had moved. It’s possible that the wind blew it around, but I had another thought too. Are there more tiny creatures in some unopened cells in the hive? Did another break loose, buzz around in there and cause the hive to roll? Purely conjecture…
Anyway, as I went inside to grab my camera I spotted this partial robin egg shell on the ground nearby. A new bird in the world!
The birds AND the bees? Lol What message shall we take from that? [image error]
Taking the two signs together, I instantly started thinking about new life, the natural order and the wonder of everything coming together so perfectly. How many things have to go right for each of us to get our chance in this world? It never ceases to amaze me.
Also, the beauty of nature’s simple, efficient shapes. That sacred geometry constantly replayed. We are meant to behold these tiny every day wonders with awe and reverence.
The world is so full of gifts. Find them, accept them, wonder…and smile.

Moving My Office & Finding Things
I’m moving my office to one end of our formal living room so that our kids, now 7 and 9, can have their own bedrooms. We moved into this house in 2016, but I didn’t really sort out my books because we put them in storage early. Then we took our time updating the house and getting it to “fully furnished.” So the books came out of boxes over time. And went in different rooms.
Well … look what I found when I moved my books around: two copies of this Jacqueline Carey book. Reminds me I still haven’t read the second book. And that leads me down another tangent. Should I have a separate shelf for books I am meaning to read? I had one in my other office … but I just kept buying books (paper & ebooks) and didn’t really reference the shelf. Reader problems…

Writing with a View This Morning
It’s finally a gorgeous Saturday morning in Oregon! I’m writing while my daughter takes a gymnastics class. Check out my view of the MU quad at Oregon State. And GO BEAVS.

Ran Out of Gas (Not a Metaphor)
Managed to work myself into a bit of a pickle today. I drove my kids east to meet their grandmother for a little spring break fun. We met at Black Butte Ranch outside of Sisters Oregon. Had a nice walk/chat and enjoyed the view. Then I started driving straight back, ignoring the number of miles over the mountain to a gas station. Number of miles: 45. Miles I made it: 39.5.
I did everything I could to conserve gas over a mountain pass, but no such luck. The truly stressful part was that much of it was out of cell service.
But this is a lovely spot to get stuck and wait for a service vehicle to bring me gas.
[image error]Actually, I won’t make you look at the highway road side parking lot, you can look at the trees like I’ve been doing.
