Connect Calypso and JetPack to Multiple WordPress Accounts
One OSTraining member is really enjoying Calypso, the new desktop blogging app from WordPress.com.
They wanted to know if it was possible to allow multiple team members to use Calypso on the same site.
Yes, that's definitely possible although it requires some configuration. Here's how to make it work:

Use the Wistia API and Plugins to Add a Rewind Button
We use Wistia to host all our videos and provide a great viewing experience for our users.
The Wistia platform offers many useful features out-of-the-box, including the design of the player, video controls, social sharing, timeline actions, and more. If you login to your Wistia account, you'll be able to customize all these features using their friendly admin panel.
However, Wistia also has an API that allows you to add your own customizations. From a developer perspective, I want to show you how to take advantage the Wistia API to adding extra features to their video player.

Test Your Site on Real iOS Devices with BrowserStack
BrowserStack is a tool that we constantly rely on at OSTraining. It's an online service that makes it easy to do cross-browser compatibility testing. Whenever we update our site design or test a new feature, we can easily troubleshoot issues in major browsers and on mobile devices.
As developers and designers, we often make the mistake of testing our responsive design on a desktop computer. Resizing the browser can emulate the screen size of mobile device, however it doesn't provide a truly accurate result.

Custom Block Types in Drupal 8
Blocks have had a major overhaul in Drupal 8.
Blocks are now broken down into two modules. The Block module simply handles the placement of blocsk into regions. The Custom Block module implements a new entity that allows you create block types and add fields to them.
In these two videos, taken from our upcoming Drupal 8 Site Building class, Rod introduces you to blocks in Drupal 8.

Randomly Show Drupal Content or Users in Views
One of our members wanted to randomly sort their Views results. Fortunately, it's very easy to do this because it's a core feature in Views.

Customize Your Joomla Articles for Facebook Sharing
One of our users asked for a way to customize the content that is displayed when sharing a Joomla article in Facebook.
Facebook scrapes the meta information for the article's description and title, and also automatically pick a relevant image.
I'm going to explain how to add an image to articles and customize the meta information that is displayed when you share a link.

Goodbye, Drupal 6
Today, after over 8 years, we say thank you and goodbye to Drupal 6.
Drupal 6 is now officially "end-of-life".
Drupal 6 launched in 2008 and was the backbone behind many of the projects that made Drupal famous. At its height, there were over 300,000 Drupal 6 sites that were reporting to Drupal.org.
Below you can see Drupal 6's popularity during its first 3 years of Drupal 6. The red line shows Drupal 6's growth and the green line shows Drupal 7.
