I've updated the Artwork and Audio gallery with some samples of the Kill Screen artwork found in Murky Depths #18. Again, a huge thank you to Jason Smith for lending his amazing talents to the piece. Be sure to check out his website HERE, and while you're in a link-clicking mood, why not pick up a copy or two of Murky Depths HERE.

Rival Threads: Last Class Heroes
Anybody who has talked to me for more than five minutes probably knows that I'm way into gaming, and have been for as long as I can remember. That's why I'm beyond thrilled to announce my involvement as lead writer for Rival Threads: Last Class Heroes, a game being created by Canadian indie developer Leonardo Molar and his team, Kontrabida. I began speaking with Leo after discovering his Kickstarter page, and in the following weeks he has allowed me to provide more and more creative input into his vision.
Although the game is still in the early stages of development, one look at the fantastic art style and you'll agree that it's going to be a real head-turner. Not only that, but I can honestly say this is the most intriguing story concept I've ever had the privilege of working on, and I can't wait to further explore the halls of Vermilion Academy.
I'll update with more information as it becomes available.
Seeing Red featured in A Hacked-Up Holiday Massacre
Gotta love that cover.
Okay, so when it comes to horror writers, everyone has their favorites. Jack Ketchum, Joe R. Lansdale, Bentley Little, Nate Southard, Lee Thomas, or Wrath James White (to name a few). Well, what if I told you there's a new collection featuring all of them… oh, and somehow I managed to sneak in there too.
A Hacked-Up Holiday Massacre (from Pill Hill Press) is a horror anthology featuring holiday-themed pieces from Arbor Day to Xmas. My story, Seeing Red, deals with a company picnic that turns deadly when the group decides to recreate La Tomatina – an annual tomato fight held in Spain.
Seriously though, it's an honor to be featured alongside all of these guys. I actually took a writing course taught by Mr. Ketchum about a year ago, and I can safely say that he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever talk to. Fun Fact: Kill Screen was originally drafted in that very class. Neat, huh?
You can pick up a copy for yourself at Amazon, on Kindle, or directly through Pill Hill.
The Cord is live at Pseudopod!
*Shudder*
Sorry, but I'm still having a hard time recovering from the absolutely incredible reading of my short story, The Cord, done by the amazing David Michel. If you'll pardon the pun, he gives the piece a life of its own, and adds a whole new layer of creepy-crawly terror to every line.
You can check out the story at Pseudopod, or subscribe to the podcast through iTunes.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to hide in a spore-free environment.

Murky Depths #18, featuring Kill Screen, now available!
If you haven't heard of Murky Depths – winner of the 2010 British Fantasy Award for best magazine/periodical – now is a great time to check them out. They're a rockin' combination of art and prose, pairing writers with artists to commission drawings based on their stories. My short story, Kill Screen, will be featured in issue #18, which is now available for pre-order. If a killer video game sounds like something you'd be interested in reading about, you're definitely going to want to check this one out. Not only that, but I've seen a preview of the art that it's being paired with (drawn by the insanely talented Jason Smith) and – Wow! Let's just say that Jason has outdone himself with his interpretation. Order your copy today from Murky Depths.
UPDATE: I just caught word that #18 will be the last issue of Murky Depths, as the company is planning to refocus on other segments of the industry. That said, there's no better time to catch up on some of their back catalogue, as they're closing out with some fantastic deals. Here's an interesting side note: since Kill Screen is the last piece to appear in the issue, that officially makes it the final story for the magazine. Did Mr. Plott have anything to do with this…
Halloween Knight featured in Nelson Literacy 8
I'm extremely excited to announce that my short story, Halloween Knight, which was first published in the Cuffer Anthology Volume II, has now been published in Nelson Literacy 8: Homegrown. This eighth grade textbook features Newfoundland-based stories and poems, and contains original artwork by some of the world's top illustrators. I was floored to find out that my story featured art by the amazing Craig Phillips, who I've been a fan of since seeing his work on WoTC products, and his renditions breathe life into the characters like you wouldn't believe. Again, it's a thrill, an honor, and a privilege to be among these writers and artists.
