This Blog Will Change Your Life: These Things We Loved in 2014 Will Change Your Life.
Thank you Ben Tanzer for including me in this amazing list. It’s almost like The Iron Sheik himself put me in the camel clutch and humbled me, which is a high honor. Though I do feel slightly shut out by not being included in the “Books by handsome men with facial hair, bearded, and otherwise” category, then I see who is included and I’m all like, “Oh yeah.” Maybe next year. Regardless, this is a great list with lots of great people and great books and great things mentioned.

If I Would Leave Myself Behind , by Lauren Becker. Curbside Splendor Publishing. 120 pages. $14.95.
When writing fiction that is empathetic to common, emotionally trodden persons, comparisons to Raymond Carver and Amy Hempel can sometimes be an unfortunate inevitability. However Becker’s pithy, cut-glass prose stylin’ and profilin’ is really all her own, and If I Would Leave Myself Behind is an artful reawakening of the short-story form. Becker owns it. She is a champion for unique characters who hold no title.llis

TNBBC's The Next Best Book Blog: Book Review: King Shit
One of the things I’m most thankful for, besides having an awesome girlfriend and two awesome cats, is that people I like and admire care enough about my writing to write about it themselves, especially when all I really write about are weird-ass people:
"Ellis’s straight forward approach to storytelling can be compared to that of Sam Pink and Charles Bukowski. His uncanny ability to humbly dress his characters in yesterday’s dirty, beer soaked, rumpled clothing and march them back and forth from place to place like it ain’t no big thang speaks directly to the insecurities in each of us. And the fact that this is the norm for these guys, that they think this is what life is and are living it the only way they know how, that’s fascinating to us."
