Yellow Vengeance

I was happy to recently be asked to blurb the latest novel by mystery writer Liz Bugg, called Yellow Vengeance.

Here's what I had to say:

Liz Bugg displays great capacity for suspense, humour, as well as tragedy in this absorbing novel. Yellow Vengeance is at once a classic mystery with a tenacious and loveable private investigator at its heart — and a modern and moving meditation on the meanings of love, relationships and family.

The book is launching in Toronto this Tuesday. If you're nearby, check it out!

Great Canadian Literary Hunt: "Man, Woman and Child"

I got some great news recently that one of my short stories, "Man, Woman and Child" was a finalist this year for This Magazine's annual Great Canadian Literary Hunt competition.

If you're not familiar with This, it's an award-winning progressive Canuck magazine with great cultural features and coverage. Learn more at this.org.

"Man, Woman and Child" is an unusual piece — it goes over very well at readings but it's been hard to find a home for it — so I was thrilled that the Lit Hunt judges were taken with its quirky charms.

You're welcome to check it out here:
