Pyotr Andreevich Pavlenko (Cyrillic: Пётр Андреевич Павленко) was a Soviet writer. Laureate of four Stalin Prizes of the first degree (1941, 1947, 1948, 1950). The most famous cultural figure of the Stalin era, when many of his works were considered classics. Member of the RCP(b) since 1920.

Pavlenko was born in St. Petersburg in the family of a craftsman, grew up in Tiflis and graduated from a real school there (1917). He studied at the Polytechnic in Baku (1917-1920). He served as a commissar in the Red Army. In 1924-1927 he worked in the Soviet trade mission in Turkey, then in Europe.
