Reda Zayed (b. 1977) is an Egyptian novelist with a lifelong passion for storytelling. Beginning his career with short stories, he has since made a strong mark in both adult and children’s literature. His novels, including The Oil Train Heist and Holivera, are celebrated for their mystery, suspense, and deep exploration of the human psyche.

What defines Zayed’s work is his belief that literature knows no borders. To him, stories are mirrors of civilizations, cultures, and struggles. A Letter from a Writer No One Has Heard Yet

Years go by, and sometimes I feel as if I’m writing into a vast emptiness that never echoes back.
I sit before the page, pouring my whole heart into words, while the world moves on as if nothing happened.
No one has heard my voice yet—not because it is weak, but because the noise around us has become louder than any honest story.

I wrote about injustice and Read more of this blog post »

Reda Zayed Dear friends,
My novel Oil Train Theft is more than just a fictional story — it was born from the daily struggles endured by millions of hardworking people across the Middle East. It is a cry of protest against injustice, a call for dignity, and a message of hope that justice can prevail, even from the most unexpected places.

The heroes of this story aren’t superheroes. They are real, flesh-and-blood individuals: a crushed worker, a sidelined engineer, a woman who defied humiliation, and a farmer devastated by poverty. Together, they rise to say “no” to corruption and “yes” to the right of people to live with dignity.

I wrote this novel because I truly believe that stories can awaken consciences and open eyes to hidden truths.
I invite you to read it — not just for the thrilling plot, but as a mirror reflecting our shared pain and collective hope.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. You are a part of this journey.
