Lenôtre’s whimsical Ladies Breakfast
If you reside in Kuwait or frequent Kuwait often you’d know the name Lenôtre is synonym with both quality and deliciousness . I can spend days just gushing about how much I love Lenôtre and how delectable and perfect their food and services are but then a quick search in my blog for the word Lenôtre will give you my exact opinion over the past few years detailed in numerous posts. I adore Lenôtre, plain and simple, and to be invited for a special ladies breakfast by Lenôtre themselves last Saturday was an honour on its own.
The Lenôtre ladies breakfast was held at their main sea front branch, which in my humble opinion is one of the best looking modern restaurant buildings that can be found overlooking the beach in Kuwait. If I ever get to build my own home, I’d want to live in a house that looks like Lenôtre! The breakfast was supposed to start at 9 A.M. but I, fashionably late as usual, arrived to an already full table with dining chattering glamorous girls at 10 A.M. Tardiness is a bad trait that I should learn to kick one of these days!
How breathtaking is that table setting? Its so beautiful, so sweet and elegant, you cannot help but stop in your tracks and appreciate the overall effect of it all. I was so impressed I almost forgot to say hello to our host for the day, none other than our beloved fellow blogger Ansam Al-Radwan.
The number of flowers decorating, on the, and surrounding the breakfast table was ridiculous! I’d think it was something like 1000+ flowers and roses in all colours and sizes. The arrangements were tasteful and quite chic, having breakfast while surrounded with so much beauty is a joy on its own!
The table setting was no less gorgeous than the flower arrangements: fine china edged in golden detail over what looks like banana leaves. The golden table setting went surprisingly well with the silver flower vases and clear food bowls! Personally I’d never pair gold and silver together but then what do I know, apparently there is a way for them to work and I’ve seen it with my own eyes.
I always wanted to host a party with the same kind of setting: lovely flowers, gorgeous table china and cutlery, food served directly in your plate, table place cards, etc. I think we need to see more of that kind of parties and less of the hoopla everyone bring something all you can eat push-me-or-I’ll-push-you over buffet-style platters with no where to place your plate except on your knees! I hate those kinds of gatherings, I don’t register what I’ve eaten during those and frankly I began avoiding the food served then all together. A more-formal and chic sit-down meal is the way to go, at least for me.
Lenôtre is not only about gorgeous modern surroundings and lovely table setting, Lenôtre excels in making a vast and delightful collection of food items fit for every taste. You’d think they’d come short at catering for such a romantic breakfast? The food served was as delightful as the setting was.
Not that I’ve eaten anything for breakfast at Lenôtre this time! I woke up that day to a dreadful bout of the flu and which meant a turbulent stomach for me. All those delicious dishes? I’ve tasted none, but I’ve spent enough time stuffing my face with Lenôtre goodies to know the taste was heavenly. I did sip on a cup of hot black coffee though.
And by the time the waiters were lifting out the savoury breakfast bowls I realised I was too busy taking pictures of flowers to photograph the pastries and the rest of the breakfast spread. Luckily such a feast must end up with dessert and I remembered to take pictures of those.
Can we take a moment to say hello to one of my favourite top-ten desserts of all time, the vermicelli creme brûlée? A modernised-classi, big bowl of which was placed right next to me, golden and gorgeous as always. I celebrated numerous birthdays blowing a candle topped on a slice of this beauty, as a matter of fact it was the very last dessert I ate in the last day of my twenties and I had planned for it to be that way. It is that special to my heart and I hope it never goes off Lenôtre’s menu, ever.
By the time breakfast was over I was hesitant to leave, I wanted to take the entire table, vases and roses and all, back home with me! It was too good-looking to leave behind, like stepping out of rose-padded dream into reality. Before we left one of our fellow diners which I’ve had the pleasure to meet for the first time, Wain Ma Aro7, gave us each a gift: a bottle of Syrian flower perfume. Quite a sweet and fragrant gesture and goes really well with the flowery theme of the breakfast! Thank you dear Wain Ma Aro7, it was a pleasure meeting you in person
You’d think after throwing us a huge breakfast that they’ve done enough but no, Lenôtre wouldn’t let us go home empty handed. Each guest received a gift from Nagwa, the new brand name for the well-known and beloved Heil w Zafaraan traditional sweets shop which was recently acquired by MMC Group, the mind behind Lenôtre themselves. I’ve passed by Nagwa on the day of their opening but since they were still setting up we couldn’t take pictures. I loved what I’ve seen and I will be going back for sure and reviewing it soon. Thank you Lenôtre and best of luck Naqwa!
Editing the pictures for this post was extremely hard for me because I wanted to include each and every one of the 100+ pictures I’ve taken. Not because I’m vain and think my pictures are that great, not at all, but the pictures did turn out unbelievably beautiful because of the gorgeous setting. There is not one photo that gave the flowery whimsical garden-like ambiance justice, take my word for it. If you are wondering about the flower arrangements and table setting, its the work of none other but the talented Bibi Hayat herself, the woman behind The November Bakery and Bibi Hayat Events. For more information you can check her instagram account (@Bibihayat_events) or call +(965)-97115881.
Thank you Lenôtre, Mr. Alex the general manager of Lenôtre, and our lovely host Ansam Al-Radwan for a breath-taking breakfast and what was quite frankly the highlight of my weekend. For more of Lenôtre’s ladies breakfast you can check the hashtag #LenotreLadiesBreakfast on instagram. The Nowwair flowers are back, with lavenders!
Every year in Kuwait we look forward to the return of what must be described as our national flower, the Nowwair. A small yellow daisy-like little wild flower that grows on its own in the dessert, covering the sandy canvas with a gorgeous thick yellow and green blanket. This year however I noticed something else, the lovely yellow flowers spreading all over Kuwait is tinted with a new hue: purple! Could it be Lavender?
I had my doubts regarding the purple flowers, I never knew lavender grew on its own on Kuwait’s dessert soil. When I got closer to take a better look there was no mistake, for the scent of Lavender reached my nostrils before I could take a proper closer look at the purple flowers.
Actually there was more lavender flowers spreading on the empty sand than nowwair! I’ve never seen that sight before and it was -and still is- quite a joyful sight indeed.
I had to pick some of course, they smelled heavenly, so wild and pure.
And they looked absolutely gorgeous at home.
You might find my excitement a bit silly but finding anything green or colourful growing out in the dessert landscape of Kuwait is something quite exciting for us! Spring time is definitely the best and most beautiful time in Kuwait. I actually went online to check for the probability of lavender growing out on its own in Kuwait and according to the internet it was possible. Rare, but quite possible.
There have been many sightings of the delicate and fragrant lavender all over Kuwait this year but this is the first time I’ve ever seen it and I’m planning to enjoy them for as long as they last. Hopefully we will see more of them in the years to come, they are just so pretty!
Have you seen the lavender flowers yet?
Movie Review: Labor Day
I knew from the moment I saw the trailer of Labor Day that I wanted to watch it and last week it finally arrived to theatres. It is not always the case that a movie turns out as good as promised by its trailer but it was just like that for labor day.
Starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, Labor day is a story about finding love in the most unusual circuminstances and dangerous situations. When an escaped convict takes refuge in a divorcees house by threatening to harm her only son if she didn’t help him out, the experience turns from a frighting ordeal to a chance of finding everlasting love that is served with a delicious slice of warm peach pie!
The movie is both sweet and breathtaking, you are sympathetic yet a bit apprehensive of the love blossoming on the screen during the labor day weekend. There is an element of suspense where you find yourself at the edge of your seat looking out for the moment when the police finds out the location of the escapee and not knowing whether you should feel relieved or disappointed when it happens.
My favourite part of the movie was the ending, I cried throughout the last five or so minutes and I left the cinema in tears and craving peach pie like mad, is there anyone who makes such excellent peach pie in Kuwait? In any case, Labor day is a movie worth watching and will definitely join its fellow favourite movies on my DVD shelves.
Hello February!
Its been a while since I’ve written something on my blog, the number of posts I published this past January is the lowest since 2009 and somehow something feels missing. Its not that I don’t have things to write about, I do, I have plenty. Its just that halfway through editing posts I somehow press on Save Draft and let it be, not feeling like going back and publishing it for the world to read.
I’m not sure why.
Perhaps because life has been quite boring lately, with nothing happening except an endless number of expos happening? Or is it because I really need another vacation in a totally new place on planet earth? All I want to do is finish work and go collapse on my couch at home, how many posts can you get out of that lifestyle?
In any case I’m determined to post more than 8 posts this months. It is February, the month of celebration in Kuwait and there is plenty of joy going around. I was supposed to get on a plane on the 21st and escape the celebrating crowds but those plans were cancelled and I’m now stuck.
The Kuwaiti national flower, Nowwair, is back in full bloom all around and I can safely say that Spring is officially here. With the change of seasons comes the inevitable flu that just won’t go away since last Friday so my two best friends are currently the Vicks and the Bo Fas. I wonder if you’ve heard of Bo Fas before? Its this foul-smelling liquid that comes in a small bottle and leaves its stench on you for days but does wonders to ease up your flu symptoms. I hope you are all well, flu-free, and enjoying the beautiful spring weather!

Tasting Magnolia Bakery’s Savoury Menu
Last week a salted caramel and chocolate chip stack of cookies from Magnolia Bakery arrived at home in the form of an invitation. The occasion was a ladies brunch celebrating the launch of Magnolia Bakery’s new savoury menu.
The salted caramel chocolate chip cookies, as you can see, were lip-smacking-good!
On the day of the ladies brunch I arrived at Magnolia bakery to find those gorgeous flower arrangements placed on the tables, waiting for the guests to arrive and savour the new dishes. How lovely!
We started with salads and there were two to try that day: Cesar’s salad and sundered tomato with cheese salad.
Next came the egg dish, a baked egg in tomato and cheese sauce. Even though I only ever eat scrambled and sometimes omelettes I couldn’t resist taking one very good bite of that dish.
Next was an array of pastas parading on the table!
Mushroom & cream fettucini, very dangerous!
The penne arabiata!
And the fragrant pesto fusili for pesto lovers!
Not in the mood for pasta? There are plenty of sandwiches to choose from!
Turkey apple sandwich!
Grilled cheese sandwich, yum! The toast was a bit too thick for my liking though.
As we sampled the dishes and enjoyed the chatter between the ladies on the table, time flew by fast! Next thing we knew it was time for dessert and dessert at Magnolia meant: a dessert buffet! A gorgeous one as well, colourful and sugary with lots of things to choose from and not enough stomach space.
Choosing something for dessert was a very tough thing to do, for I personally wanted to devour all things sweets that were on display!
We didn’t go home empty handed either, each lady got a bag chockfull of desserts to go home with!
Thank you Dana Al-Salem, and Lujain Al-Fulaij for inviting us to this lovely lovely brunch at Magnolia Kuwait, we truly enjoyed our time and the food! To try the new items from Magnolia’s savoury menu you can pass by their branch in Al-Hamra mall, give them a call at +(965)-94969281, follow them on Twitter (@MagnoliaKuwait) or on instagram (@MagnoliaKuwait).

Strawberry Picking in Kuwait?
I’ve always wanted to go strawberry picking!
In the UK there are many farms where you can go and pick strawberries but somehow its been years since I’ve been to the UK during the strawberry picking season. I’ve never been myself but I’ve heard tales and seen pictures of people who did and I simply am envious!
The strawberry season in Kuwait is now and happening, during winter time from January and until early to mid-February. Last year I bought fresh Kuwaiti strawberries that can reduce you to tears just by taking a whiff of their delicious scent and would melt in the sugariest juiciest way as you bite into one. They came from a Kuwaiti farm that I don’t know the name of yet it sure does exist in Wafra farms.
I don’t think that you are allowed to go visit a farm in Wafra and pick strawberries the way its done abroad, where you take a basket and pick your own then come back and weigh your purchase. However, I may be very well wrong and there might actually be farms that are willing to let you pick your own strawberries and I could go during the weekend and walk among the greenhouses looking at strawberries and choosing my own and wolfing them down even if they are as sour as lemons as long as I picked them myself!
So, do you know of any farms that would offer that service? Or if not, do you know of any strawberry farms in Kuwait that you can suggest to them to provide this service in the future? Pretty please, with a strawberry on top?
Warning: Never Ever Make Cabbage Rolls!
This post was written with the intention of becoming a life long promise/oath plus a stern reminder to never, ever, EVER attempt to make cabbage rolls or -malfoof mahshi- again for as long as I live. Period.
Why? You are asking why? Imagine me answering you while grabbing tufts of hair in both hands and screeching the following: it was a lovely, lazy, quite Friday night. I was ready to settle on my couch and turn on my DVD to watch Lethal Weapon 3. I grew up with that movie, now I’m rewatching all four films on Blue Ray in a childhood movie reminiscing weekend marathon. Dreams of my being lost in my delicious coffee and a movie they don’t make alike anymore all faded because my nagging husband started to, well, nag once more. This time his new “project” was for us to attempt cooking “mahshi” which is a collection of vegetables stuffed with rice and other vegetables and cooked for hours on the stove, only he wants us, and by us he means me while he sips his tea in front of the TV, to try and make him cabbage rolls with quinoa instead of rice and sweet potatoes instead of the usual boring old potatoes, “trying to be healthy” was his motto.
Then I decided why the couch potato attitude of mine? Let me spend a fun hour in the kitchen, me and my music, dancing and cooking, no? After all, I did know how to cook vine leaves, right?
WRONG!
Abandoning all hope for a relaxing evening, I began researching the quinoa-rice substitution in the mahshi dish online. Apparently you simply replace the amount of dry rice with the amount of dry quinoa and cook it away like nothing have changed so I did just that. I prepared the mix above, substituting raisins with fresh pomegranate seeds as I cannot stand raisins. Preparing the stuffing took about half an hour and felt like five minutes because I was singing away with my happy members of my iTunes library on my iPhone.
To wrap the cabbage into rolls, all recipes called for pre-boiling the cabbage head for five to ten minutes so the “cabbage leaves” would become a bit tender thus easy to roll. I cut the bloody thing in half, submerged it for a few minutes in boiling water, took it out, let it cool for a bit, and then apparently attempted the impossible: prying away the cabbage leaves! If you try and slowly tear away one leaf, the entire thing comes apart. If you somehow manage to free a leaf without that much damage, the now-free leaf is so delicate and will disintegrate between your now-shaky and quite confused fingers. I tried, and tried, and layered sheets of broken cabbage leaves on top of each other in a failed attempt to contain the “healthy quinoa” filling only to end up with balls of cabbage layers with quinoa grains peeking happily through. The two hours I spent, oblivious to my surroundings, cursing and muttering and trying to roll those wretched cabbage leaves, can only be described as a catastrophe.
As I layered the mishapen rolls in the cooking pots and topped the entire thing with sweet potato slices, I felt that my back had broken in two! I also had a nice heap of torn cabbage leaves on my cutting board, looking at me accusingly. Oh my! Now I know why people only sell vine laves and never rolled cabbages! Who would waste their time trying to roll those crazy things? They are impossible to make! Now I understand why whenever my mother cooked mahshi she would have two onions, a dozen cabbage rolls, and mostly stuffed courgettes and vine leaves, leaving us to fight over the the cabbage rolls and wondering why we couldn’t only cook a potful of them only!and we would fight over the cabbage rolls!
I cursed myself, and the cabbages, and whomever invented cabbage rolling in the first place. Perhaps it was meant as a torture practise in the old ages? What the hell I was doing? Why wash’t I out and about enjoying a night out in a nice restaurant? Why wasn’t I at the couch, watching Mel Gibson and Danny Glover cracking jokes while running after bad guys? And I still had to clean up the kitchen which smelled like cabbages and wait another two long smelly hours for the pot of mangled cabbage rolls to finish cooking on the stove!
Needless to say I was dreading the result of my “adventure” as the timer went off in the kitchen but I had to admit that when I turned over the pot -and found that the plate I had used to keep the cabbage rolls in place as they cooked was singed beyond repair, how lovely!- the cabbage leaves didn’t look that bad. So they are not as uniform or elegant looking as other people with magical powers and super human patience would usually prepare, but they didn’t look that weird or revolting.
Well, they might look revolting if you’ve never seen mahshi or eaten stuffed cabbage before. I myself wouldn’t touch cabbages but I adore and crave stuffed cabbage, mahshi style, all the time. The fact that they are not as slimy as stuffed vine leaves is a bonus.
The cabbage rolls weren’t all presentable, some were cracking apart in places shamelessly displaying their quinoa stuffing, but there were one or two that looked OK. I wouldn’t necessarily present them to guests, and I would never do so as I’m never ever going to attempt to cook them again for as long as I live, but I would dare bite into one and see how did the quinoa stuffing turned out.
See, this one is not that bad looking. If you are wondering about the sweet potatoes they were all mushy and sweet and so not something I’d eat. I don’t understand how people eat them, they are just too sweet! I’d rather eat a mango!
Biting into one…
Surprisingly not that bad at all. If I may say so myself, they tasted pretty good indeed! They tasted the way a cabbage roll mahshi style should taste even though they didn’t really look the part per say! The quinoa made no difference taste-wise at all. It was the most successful quinoa-rice adaptation I’ve had till date, too bad I’m never going to cook that dish again but I’d gladly prepare my stuffed vine leaves with quinoa now and stuff my face with it again and again and again.
In my distraught status just after I’ve put the pot on the stove I’ve gone a bit mad and came up with this declaration, to be used as a quote from me to all future generations, cheesy as it is: “Love is a woman attempting to cook the impossible, and a man eating the inedible result happily!”.
P.S. Never again *shudders*!

Trying The Sicilian Cannoli from Pasticceria Di Pietro
For a while now I’ve been hearing local foodies raving about the arrival of the “Cannoli” to the dessert scene in Kuwait. Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be anymore Oreo-stuffed Nutella-laden dessert combinations left to invent and sell from home, a new home business springs up with a totally different authentic dessert all the way from Sicily, Italy and the name is Cannoli.
Have you tried a cannolo -singular for cannoli, which is plural- before? I recall seeing them in Italian stalls in food markets in the UK and having sampled one in Italy about a decade ago. Cannoli are a thin round pastry, folded up and deep fried then filled with a creamy delicious filling. The ones introduced in Kuwait are sold by Pasticceria Di Pietro, a family Sicilian pastry shop owned by an Italian couple, Mays and Luciano Di Pietro.
I love that the cannoli come from a family business, you know what sets Italian cuisine apart is that its all about family. When I came upon the stall selling the cannoli in a charity bazaar yesterday I found the empty fried shells being filled on the spot with a mound of creamy filling by the owner himself. I had gotten the original ones which come with a stray chocolate chip or two folded in with the cream filling and topped by candied orange peel and pistachios. I also got me the salted caramel cannoli, yes salted caramel. I swear you could put salted caramel on my favourite book and I would eat it to the last paper!
It took a lot of self-restraint but I managed to hold on until I was reunited with my espresso machine before biting into the golden beauties. The cannoli, even though they are cream filled fried dough dessert, were crumbly and flakey and cream and surprisingly quite light! Most importantly, they weren’t overly sweet or too sugary which I did appreciate. I did however like the original cannolo better than the salted caramel ones, perhaps because it didn’t taste much like salted caramel to me.
Some people pointed out that the cannoli are on the expensive side, they start at one KD per piece but to me when it comes to food I tend not to care much about price tags. If you like your desserts to have a bit of crunch or if you are a cream lover, the cannoli are for you! Again, they are not too sugary so if you are looking for a sugar blast you might not like them. There are many different fillings and topping to the cannoli offered by Pasticceria Di Pietro plus candied orange peel and different types of Italian cookies.
Now people, ditch the cupcakes and try the cannoli! You can order your cannoli from Pasticceria Di Pietro by giving them a call at +(965)-65119921 or checking their instagram account (@Pasticceria_dipietro).

Häzelñut House Lovely Basket of Treats
I’ve come to know about The Hazelnut House about a month ago when a friend of mine told me about them. I’ve always wanted to go, in fact I have a long overdue list of new restaurants and cafes that I want to check out, but then travelling and the hibernation period I found myself in somehow got in my way until I heard a knock on my door with this lovely basket of goodies from none other but Hazelnut House themselves!
The wicker basket, the logo, the way Hazelnut is written “Häzelñut”, all somehow gave me a feel of a little cafe in a quaint Swiss village nestled somewhere over the Alps. I haven’t been to Hazelnut House yet but I have a feeling its going to be a cosey place.
The most important thing however is how the food taste, which is what I was about to discover as I tore at the overflowing basket.
The first thing you notice are the jars. Two big glass jars, one filled with cream or yoghurt and fruits and the other with something chocolate-y!
The taller jar with the fruits was a fruit parfait: layers of zero fat greek yoghurt, pomegranate, and crunchy granola.
I had the fruit parfait for dinner and it was lovely! Exactly what you’d expect from a fresh and light fruit parfait. The greek yoghurt in particular was excellent: thick, dense, and tangy. It doesn’t feel like zero fat at all for it was really creamy. The granola was the cherry on top, simply perfect and highly recommended as a healthy treat.
What I’d recommend as a not-so-healthy and quite naughty treat however would be what’s inside the second jar, which is the… Nutella mousse!
The naughty, naughty, NAUGHTY Nutella mousse!
For the millionths time on this blog I’m typing down this sentence: I am not a fan of Nutella! However, after taking a single spoonful of this fluffy, air-light, heap of chocolaty mousse with some chewy crunchy bits of something thrown in as a surprise I am beginning to rethink my statement! It was, simply put, quite scrumptious!
Perhaps I don’t like Nutella per-say but I like it if it was an ingredient in something else where it doesn’t dominate the flavour? I’m going to research that. Meanwhile, I swear I only intended to take a spoonful of the Nutella mousse jar but after a few seconds I realised half the jar was gone and my husband was protesting because the mousse was his and not mine! I wonder where he got that idea from? It is my blog after all!
After a little tug-of-war debacle I had to let go of the Nutella mousse jar and focus my attention on something else. Well, there was a little teensy pot labeled Bannoffee and I have an addiction to anything bannoffee and therefore it makes perfect sense that I drowned my sorrow at losing the Nutella mousse jar war by reaching out to the bannoffee pot.
Err… the Bannoffee was gone in two bites because two bites it was only, but those two bites were extremely good! I didn’t much feel the “toffee” in the Bannoffee but it was creamy and delicious and everything you’d want from a teensy pot of dessert. I wish all desserts came in similar sized pots, that way we could avoid temptation. One thing I didn’t like is the Bannoffee crust though, it was too hard and clung to the bottom of the pot like there was no tomorrow. I couldn’t take it out, nor could I break it so I left it where it was. It was that stubborn.
My head was buzzing with sugar after sampling those desserts but I still had a basketful of goodies to go through. There were cookies, rocky road bars, brownie bites, three different kinds of truffles, and blondies if I’m not mistaken.
The cookies were OK, a bit on the greasy side and not as chewy as I usually like my cookies to be. The brownie bites however were lovely, fudgy and chewy the way brownies are supposed to be made and I dare you not to finish the little bag of four once you take a bite of one.
I mentioned that there are three kinds of truffles in the basket. The first one, and the only one I managed to photograph, is the pistachio truffle. I didn’t taste it myself for I am not a pistachio fan at all but my husband was in love.
Now the reason why there are no photographs of the other two types of truffles is that, well, err, I devoured them before I took their picture. In my defence I was meaning to photograph them half bitten, but then they disappeared and all hope of them being photographed would be by x-raying my stomach. One was an Earl Grey tea truffle -yes, Earl Grey which is something I’m addicted to and needs to be used more in food dishes IMO- and the other was a Nutella truffle and I know I said I’m not a fan of Nutella but it was all liquidy and simply flowed like a velvet river everywhere. Needless to say I highly recommend their truffles.
Hazelnut House are not only about hazelnut-infused desserts but they offer salads, sandwiches, pastas, and more! They have a take away menu but I don’t think they do delivery yet. I’m so looking forward to trying their savoury dishes, judging by how good their treats are I know I’m in for a delicious meal for sure. Thank you Hazelnut House for this lovely basket of treats, you truly made my day.
Hazelnut House are located in Mezzanine 1 of KIPCO tower. They are currently in the soft opening phase so they are open from 8:30 AM till 7 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM till 7 PM on weekends. For more information and for orders you can give them a call at +(965)-22943211 or follow them on instagram (@Hazelnut_House).

Re’s Organic Farm Fresh Produce Basket
The fact that I’m a vegetarian also means I’m a picky eater and an even pickier food shopper. When I shop for fruits and vegetables I tend to go to several different places each week because I always look for the freshest produce available which is not always easy to come by especially in your local co-op. This week however I had quite a nice break from my greens shopping because of the arrival of an overflowing fresh farm produce basket from Re, the guys who started Kuwait’s first juice detox cleanse and healthy Ramadan juices.
The rather overwhelming basket of fresh locally grown organic farm greens -plus eggs- was gorgeous! Nothing wilted or ill-looking and if you love your vegetables like me you get that feeling of wanting to chop vegetables for a salad or a chunky winter vegetables soup while sinking your teeth at a juicy little crunchy vegetable something once you lay your eyes upon it.
Once you peel off the plastic wrapper over the basket you are hit with that greens smell, one I call the chlorophyll smell that you can distinctly breathe in gardens or farms, yum! As you start to take apart the contents you realise there is much more beneath the surface than what meets the eye! I found the following: organic eggs, broccoli, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, beans, more beans, radishes, lettuce, cauliflower, chill ins, green capsicum, parsley, coriander, and a few unidentified vegetables that I cannot name and one of which is most probably kale. Yes, Re have been growing kale in Kuwait for quite sometime and now they are selling it and because its extremely fresh and not imported from abroad, it is NOT smelly at all!
How cute are these eggs? They are so turning into an omelette on Friday morning!
This gorgeous farm produce basket just plucked out of the ground is available for order and can also be delivered on weekly basis if you subscribe with Re! I think its an excellent idea, will save a lot from your weekly shopping time and guarantees you the best organic fresh high quality farm produce. Plus, it will be delivered right to your door step.
And the basket came with a card, and I love cards!
Thank you Re for the delicious and quite fresh organic farm produce basket! Its keeping me well fed for the time being and totally made my day. I loved the idea of subscriptions as well! Keep up the good work!
For more information regarding Re, their juices, their juice detox programs, and their organic farm produce baskets you can give them a call on +(965)-99115662, email them at info@re-cleanse.com, or follow them on twitter (@Re_KWT) or instagram (@Re_KWT).
