Eduard Štorch byl významným představitelem reformního pedagogického hnutí 20. let. Podle Jiřího Štolla Štorch jako pedagog silně převyšuje Štorcha spisovatele i Štorcha archeologa. Děti byly vždy Štorchova priorita, jim zasvětil celý svůj život a jeho 8 let trvající projekt Dětská farma na Libeňském ostrově byl, po prvotních trpkých zkušenostech se sociálně zanedbanou mládeží Mostecka a pražských periférií, jeho životním úspěchem, kterým dokázal nejen sobě, že jeho myšlenky realizované v praxi byly správné a přínosné. Následující megalomanský utopický projekt trojské výchovné osady Růžičkov, který inicioval a významně se ho účastnil, však nezískal potřebnou podporu a nebyl uskutečněn.
