Apple's iBookstore lists A DIAMOND IN MY POCKET as a breakout book!

Indie authors are hitting all the major bestseller lists, supported by retailers such as Apple's iBookstore that are now promoting self-published titles alongside traditionally-published books.
Feb. 5th, 2013. Apple’s iBookstore launched Breakout Books in the U.S., a new book merchandising feature that showcases books from popular self-published authors, including several that have already achieved New York Times bestseller status. The Breakout Books section can be found on the iBookstore at http://iTunes.com/BreakoutBooks.
Most major retailers reserve such high profile merchandising attention for large, long-established publishers. Although the iBookstore has always carried and supported self-published ebooks, this launch signifies an escalated commitment on the part of Apple, whose iBookstore currently sells books in 50 countries. The iBookstore first piloted the Breakout Books feature in their Australian store and has since implemented similar features in Canada and the U.K.
My novel, A Diamond in my Pocket, was privileged to be included in this launch, recognized by iBookstore’s team as a Breakout Book. Look for it in the More to Explore category.

A Diamond in my Heart (The Unaltered, #2)

Excerpt from the Author Interview on Amber's blog, Fall into Books: http://falln2books.blogspot.com/2012/...

"Can you tell us a little bit about A Diamond in My Heart?
A Diamond in my Heart has a different feel to it than book #1. Calli no longer feels the guilt and burden of lying to her friends about the diamond and she’s accepted her role as a Diamond Bearer. She’s still the same girl; sarcastic and tosses her dry humor around often. Calli discovers a new power in a boy from school but she cannot figure out what it is. Maetha tells her that this boy isn’t the only one wielding the new power and Maetha assigns Calli to teach him about his new world. This is not an easy task for Calli as the boy is using his ability to manipulate girls; he’s a regular horn dog and an opportunist. Chris Harding is on Calli’s mind quite a bit, but she knows according to the vision she saw before she left the Runners compound she won’t see him until she ages and matures. The book spans over three years allowing Calli to attend her freshman year at college and experience life in a co-ed dorm. A Diamond in my Heart is slightly more advanced than book one and some younger readers may not understand the innuendos. It contains violence, blood, and a bit of mild language."

FREE download Scars of Defiance

Currently, Scars of Defiance is a FREE download on Amazon. It can also be found on Barnes & Noble, Diesel, Smashwords, and more.

Scars of Defiance,a contemporary/suspense/thriller, is book one in the 'Scars of Defiance' series with book two, The Dictator's Daughter, completed and listed on the above mentioned outlets.

Scars of Defiance Book Description:
Paul Bronson’s family has housed defectors from the neighboring country ever since General Rawlings overthrew the favored monarchy thirty-years prior; several generations have been devoted to protecting the expatriates as they seek new lives away from the sadistic tyrant. The latest plane-load of refugees brings a beautiful young lady with a bounty on her head and a claim on Paul's heart.

Reginald Rawlings’ rule is crumbling and rumor brings word of an insurgent uprising. Desperate to regain his power, he feels the only way to calm the people is to have Princess Sierra Montgomery marry his son; thus placing the last survivor of the ousted royalty back in the palace. However, his plan goes awry when Sierra disappears with only four days to the wedding. The search is on for the missing princess and an infiltrator’s information puts all crosshairs on Paul’s new female refugee. The struggle to keep her safe and out of the enemy's hands will be the toughest thing Paul has ever done; for no one’s ever defied Gen. Rawlings’ fury and come out unscathed.

Hello to goodreads members,

I have recently submitted a revised version of 'A Diamond In My Pocket' to kindle for grammar, typo's and sentence structure. The story plot remains the same, so no need to re-read. Overall, I'm getting great response to the story line, some calling it unique, original, and decent. A few reviewers cut apart the editing flaws but still gave it 3 stars because the story line was alright. Honestly, as an Indie author, I just want to share my stories with others who like to be entertained. Yes, I should have had a better edit from the get-go, and no, I was not surprised at the negativity by the grammar Nazi types. Oh well, I'll learn from my mistakes and move on. For those of you who liked my book despite the flaws; Thank You! It makes me happy to know I've shared a decent, fun story, and you enjoyed it. For Grammar/Typo readers, I'll make sure my future books are edited before publishing to better serve your tastes.

I'm working on the second in the Unaltered series called, 'A Diamond In My Heart'. No release date yet, but I'm typing vigorously because the story wants out of my head. (I've wondered if other authors experience the same thing with their stories, I hope they do, that way I won't feel so weird.) I will have it edited thoroughly though. ;)

Here's a bit of the storyline:

***Warning: spoiler alert. If you haven't read book #1, you might want to avoid whats below***

~Calli's world is about to get much larger. She'll learn where Maetha's powers actually come from and will wonder whether or not she can trust Maetha.
~A new cosmic power will surface in one of Calli's classmates; one not contained in the Sanguine Diamond.
~Someone is systematically kidnapping the amulet wearers from each clan trying to round up all the shards of the diamond; but they can't seem to find that last piece.

Thanks again to my readers. If you haven't already, consider writing an honest review on amazon. It would help other potential reader to know more about the book, and I'd greatly appreciate it!
