What to expect from me

Howdy my lovely lovies.  This is a post without a giveaway or promoting any books.  I want you to know what you can expect from me the writer.  My target audience for my Light Tamer series is 12 - 15.  As a mother, I would read my kids books first, before I allowed them to read it.  Moms are busy and don't always have the chance to monitor everything.  Now that we have a world of smart phones, e-readers and internet, it is hard for parents to make sure that things are as they appear.  I want to assure the moms and dads out there, I will always keep my content proper for that age group.

To the authors and bloggers that have adult content, I can't retweet your work or promote on my Facebook page.  It has nothing to do with you, because I respect your craft, it has to do with my fans and family.    I've turned away a couple of people recently because of the adult nature.  It's my responsibility to be responsible. Thank you for considering me though.

Thank you to everyone that has fallen in love with Caleb and Jessie!  I'm so glad so many people have become Team Caleb!

I already know where I'm shopping... how do I save $? Even for you brand-loyal shoppers, you can save money every time you shop at your favorite stores. If you ever have a bad experience with a BeeSavy store, please let them know right away.
Feeling generous? Donate your savings to a charity. When you request a cash back payment, BeeSavy gives you the option to donate a portion or all of your cash back to a charity. Just choose a charity and how much you want to donate and they'll take care of the rest!

There is no limit to how many friends you can refer! They even pay you a 10% commission on all of their referrals up to seven levels deep! So this could add up quickly for those of you who like sharing a great deal with others.
BeeSavy benefits for online retailers:It's a win-win-win. With most forms of marketing, online retailers must pay upfront with no guarantee of results; however, with cost-per-sale marketing, online retailers only pay BeeSavy when it generates a sale. Online retailers choose a commission rate that fits within their profit margin, thereby ensuring a positive return on their marketing dollars. By giving most of this commission to the purchasing customer as a cash back rebate, BeeSavy utilizes this online retailer marketing method to save its customers money that traditional comparison shopping websites cannot match (due to their cost-per-click revenue model).

One lucky winner will receive an iPad 3rd Generation, 16GB Unit from BeeSavy!Giveaway ends July 15th at 11:59pm, open worldwide, ages 18+. (Non-US residents will receive cash equivalent). Must be a BeeSavy member to enter to win (new and current members qualify). Click here to become a BeeSavy member. To enter please use the Rafflecopter form below. Good luck!

Enlightened Cover Reveal!

Enlightened Cover Revealby Devyn Dawson
Recently our founder Emma Michaels announced that she is doing book covers.  I've been struggling over what my second book in The Light Tamer Series would be...until I saw Emma's work.  (I'm going Southern speak....so tune your ears to Southern).  Girl, let me tell you, that Emma girl...she got mad skills!  Have you seen her work?  Child, you must check her covers out.  They are so good you can butter my butt and call me a biscuit!   (taking a sip of some sweet tea)  Holy cow! Squeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Do you get the picture?  Her work is very professional, and her prices are very affordable.  We collaborated together and decided that The Light Tamer needed a face-lift.  It makes it easier for readers to recognize they are from the same series.  I agreed.  I loved the old book cover and I love the new one.  What do I like about Emma's covers?  First, her eye for colors and subject matter are great.  Since she is a writer, she understands the need to draw the reader from the cover alone.  Not only are her covers beautiful but her banners are very attractive.  When you're considering your own cover, you need to ask yourself a couple of questions.

          1.  Will it appeal to readers?
          2.  Will it look good in print?
          3.  Does it tell a story?
          4.  Does it 'speak' to you?

Now for my cover reveal for Enlightened.  Let me know what you think!  If you want to see more of Emma's covers.... http://emmamichaels.blogspot.com/

Jessie's moved from New York to North Carolina one week after school lets out for summer break. Being a teen in a retirement area, is one more thing to add to her 'this sucks' list. It's bad enough to have to move, but even worse her alcoholic father left them as he went on a quest to be an artist in Greece.

Things begin to look up when she is reintroduced to Caleb, the dorky boy that saved her life one summer at the beach. Caleb is no longer scrawny and nerdy, he is now tall, dark and handsome. Caleb is a Light Tamer. Now, Jessie and Caleb must learn how to control the light...before they lose each other forever.

Jessie and Amber become fast friends. Amber is a no frills girl, her snarky comments and sassy attitude will raise a few eyebrows and have you laughing out loud. Amber is rough around the edges, a light tamer with only two years left to find the one she is bound to. Her father's surfing accident left her dad paralyzed and her brother dead.

This paranormal romance will keep you on the edge of your seat with humor, romance, and determination. Fall head over heels for Caleb and Jessie

Don't you love it when....

These are real things that have happened to me - slightly embellished, but I am a writer and that's what I do.

Don't you love it when....

1.  You question your adult daughter if you're too old to wear something....and she says yes.  Ouch - bye bye Justin Bieber concert shirt.

2.  Someone asks you if you cut your hair (that was down your back and now above your ears) and then says.... you really should let it grow long again.

3.  Someone says, "Yeah, you write about them there vampires... not my cup of tea." (okay... thanks)

4.  When someone says... "Wow, you look tired."  I just woke up after a 12 hour nap, thanks.

5.  You email another author and call them the wrong name...twice.  Yup, I did that.

6.  You forget the names of the characters in your own book.  I have a name encyclopedia for my series now.

7.  You have nothing to blog about so you make a dumb list.

8.  Someone returns one of your electronic books that was only $0.99 cents - true!

9.  No one leaves a comment and you practically have to beg people to love you.

10.  You run into people when you're letting your eyebrows grow out.  It is hard to hide - seriously.

Leave me a comment and tell me your "Don't you love it when..."  There just might be a random drawing for something fabulous (you can't have my Justin Bieber shirt).
