About ostriches. Would you believe that I had a wonderful insight (atleast I think it's wonderful) because of the thought of ostriches? Here I was, eating cookies and drinking milk one morning and the thought of ostriches suddenly made me flinch. No, not because they're a subject of my analysis but because their existence made me realize a wonderful thing about life. Ostriches are birds and yet they cannot fly. But even if they cannot fly, they can run fast. I thought, people expect birds to fly but why did God didn't allow ostriches to fly? Why were they made so big and long-legged that they cannot carry themselves up in the sky? 
To every rule, there is an exception. In the rule of the birds, ostriches were the exception. Flying birds fly high and stay high unless they'll need food to eat. Ostriches stay on the ground and feed on whatever is given to them. Some birds feed on specific kinds of food. Ostriches eat things other animals can't digest because their intestines are especially long and tough and help them absorb nutrients. As a form defense, birds may fly away from their predator to avoid being eaten. Ostriches, who were not given the ability to fly high, has to stay on the ground and defend themselves. But, did you know that an Ostrich's kick is powerful enough to kill a lion?
I came to the conclusion that in a wide range of similar people, there will be one person, or maybe two or more, who'd appear so different, maybe even the opposite of the usual, but are born to stand out and understand their differences. There are a lot of people in the world who fail to look down and keep their feet on the ground because of their high achievements and soaring lifestyles. And sometimes, their reasons of "stooping" down is when they need something from those people they treat as "below" them. But then again, there are people who choose to stay on the ground even if they are great and being looked up to. Some people choose what they have in life in order for them to call it life. But still, some rare people "swallow" everything that is given to them with proper acceptance and courage. Sometimes, there are people who depict a certain image of threat and fear towards us because of their high achievement and positions. But then, there are also people who do not show anything to be scared about nor anything threatening but can execute a deadly defense or even power. 
God is very fair. Although Ostriches weren't given the gift to fly, they run fast and they are the largest and heaviest species. And need I mention? They have gigantic eggs.

Sometimes, I think I try so hard to gain attention. Although most of the time I say and think that I'm happy being alone, it's not always so. As some sayings state, "No man is an island" and "Man is a social animal". Therefore, man cannot survive without other people. 
It is solely my fault that I feel lonely a lot of times. It's because it had always been hard for me to extend myself to other people. When I think of contacting a person who is special to me, I'd immediately think, "She's/He's not contacting me. She/He might not want my attention anyway" and I'd drop the phone and forget it. It just shows how prideful I am as a person. I also have trust issues. Given my nightmares as a kid and in my early onset on high school, there is always a doubt in me when I meet new people. It is not easy for me to trust people. It is not easy for me to give personal information about myself. Mainly because the few people I have decided to trust throughout my life beside my family have broken it with unreasonable reasons. Can you imagine that? The people whom you decided to give your trust with are the same people who break it. I am so tired of pain. I am so tired of being fooled. And I am so tired of being lied to. Sometimes, I come to a conclusion to just hide within me what's supposed be hidden. At some point, it had become an isolation. 
There are times when I feel better reading a book than having a conversation with someone. There are also times when I prefer sitting at a corner of a party playing cellphone games rather than joining pictures and having conversations. At some point, I think these feelings are self-inflicted. Maybe I'm just sad that I don't have my own circle of close friends. Maybe I just lack a social life. Maybe I just need someone who'll know what's inside my head. Maybe I'm just in a cycle of self-pity. Maybe I'm plain overthinking. Maybe I'm just being...ridiculous. 
Sometimes, not all feelings are caused by something. Sometimes, you just feel certain feelings without any explanations behind it.

You know, sometimes we love people secretly and even if we know we'll never be equally loved back, we still continue loving them. Mainly because our feeling makes us happy. Even if they're feelings give us pain.
