"The air is heavy with willow scent
And pine duff. The heat is light. Down there, across
The meadow,..."
And pine duff. The heat is light. Down there, across
The meadow, in the shadow of the falling
Ridge (you wouldn’t see them if I didn’t
Tell you), two men, motionless, study
The last snowdrift. They lean on spades in waist-
High grass, wearing green hip boots. The snowdrift looks
Like a homeless man, lying, half-fetal with
A dirty sheet thrown over him.”

LIFE OF A DUDE IN PUBLISHING: THE DUDE READS #1: THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST
![]()
(Took me a few months, but here we go with The Dude Reads series - soon as I finish any book worth reading, I’m gonna tell you fine people all about it. And now, onto the inaugural. I’ll try like hell not to spoil anything, but if you’re super intent on knowing nothing about a book and you…
I don’t re-post tMoCP reviews on tumblr all that often, mostly because I don’t even see them, but also because it feels, you know, braggy and weird (that old chestnut—weird), to me, to do so. I certainly never feel very graceful about it, anyway. (Though, I mean, whoever said that feeling graceful is the most important thing? Not this gal.)
Having said that, this one, from the very funny dudeinpublishing (you should be following this tumblr), just gave me a much-needed-boost during a long day of creaky writing, and so I’m gonna break my own rules or habits or what-have-you and pass it along. (Please don’t throw things. Feel free, though, to grumble and groan—of course, that.)
