The Amazon Price Game
This is probably something I should have considered long ago, but considering that I generally get into something, then realize I should have known something, it's par for the course. Oh well, this is a learning process for all involved. Feel free to use me as your guinea pig. :)
That being said, here's my question: for you as readers, consumers, and (hopefully) my customers, what makes you buy a book that is from a debut author? Is it the cover? The blurb? Price point? A mixture of many...

Big News!
After much time of thought and consideration, I've decided to self publish my novel, BRIDGER!
Ashlyn McVean doesn't believe in fairy tales. That is, until Ashlyn is thrown into the crosshairs of grudges her grandmother created long ago. After finding out she is one of two people able to cross between faerie realms, Ashlyn is faced with trying to understand her abilities, along with navigating a new relationship with her boyfriend, Liam. As if being on a centuries old hit list and...

The lovely Stacey O'Neale and I have been cooking up a book trailer for her awesome YA, MORTAL ENCHANTMENT the past few weeks, which would explain the lull on here. :) Stacey has been awesome, pushing my limits and I hope I've come up with a trailer she likes! She was great to work with, and I hope you all enjoy the trailer:

Writing or Wrestling Alligators - Which is Harder?
"Writing is the hardest way to earn a living, with the possible exception of wrestling alligators." --Olin Miller
[image error]
The unholy blinking icon teases you as you stare back helplessly at the Word document. Your characters are teasing you. Yesterday you were on a tear, the words coming faster than you could type. Today, however, there's nothing. Not one word. Deleting more than you're writing, you're about to pull out your hair. Ever been there?
I think that writing is one of the most rewarding, yet ...

THE GUARDIAN CHRONICLES: FORBIDDEN (Chpt. 1)
1.
Precariously leaning over the railing, I made sure she was safe. My Call, Hannah Gordon, walked in wonder three stories below, while she took in the sights of St. Peter's Basilica. She had no clue she was being followed.
I didn't count myself in the category of follower. I had protected her since receiving the commission from the Almighty himself over a year ago. No, she had more problems than a Guard trailing her.
She looked up, causing me to retreat into the shadows high above her. I was...

Spouses of Writers Need A Support Group
My husband is SUCH a trooper.
I say this because after having a conversation with my good friend Hope, we agreed that we as writers live in our heads a bit more than any normal human being should.
After all, we're interacting with imaginary people that we inevitably would rather be hanging out with than our real, living, breathing counterparts.
Social interaction with real people is overrated when you have a novel to write. :)
Anyway, the conversation that sealed this opinion went something like ...
