Day 9 & Barbra Streisand
Today I went to a “Write-In” for National Novel Writing Month & knocked out 2,106 words with 6 delightful fellow writers. Barbra Streisand was not one of them, but I did think of her… And not just because I found this photo of her and an amazingly attractive Robert Redford! But because of her song, which [...]

Day 8 – Carrot Shoes
They’re not actually made of carrots, the shoes. But the purchase of them became a carrot that helped me hit my writing goal today. You know how it is… you want to get something done, and you want a little treat, a small one to make the task that much lighter. Well, today I took [...]

Day 7 – Worst Kiss Details…
Okay, here are the clues to some of the bad kiss stories I’ve been hearing… and… and… Thanks for the writing help! 2,142 more words today… The Rocker’s Mrs. continues! Happy Reading, Writing & Romance (’cause if any of these things happened to you, you deserve a break!) Kathy

Day 6 – Worst Kiss
I hit my word count today, but tomorrow I’ve got a really bad kiss to write. This isn’t the awkward first kiss, braces locking sort of thing. This is two full-grown people who should be able to manage a lip-lock, but fail in a surprising fizzle. My main character, Trish (name subject to change as [...]

Day 5 – The Writer’s Cup
It may sound like a sailing event, the Writer’s Cup, and that’s not completely inaccurate. It’s an actual cup of the tea variety, but it does help me sail. Today I brought out one of my writing tricks… Ta-Dah! I can tell that you’re underwhelmed. But let me assure you that habits are only [...]

Day 4 – and the writing is like…
I did get my word count in today, and I’m looking forward to meeting tonight with the 15 area writers who are also suffering, uh, I mean doing NaNoWriMo. I’m going to talk about carrots and sticks. The teeth pulling thing definitely falls under the stick category. Tomorrow I’ll give you the best carrots we [...]

Day 3 – waffles
Pumpkin waffles with the family + reading + errands + lunch with my dad and sister + the gym (did I mention the bacon with the waffles?) + dinner with the family + movie night = 634 words. But the waffles were worth it! Happy Writing, Reading & Waffling Kathy

Day 2 – Scrivener Rocks!
Day 2 of National Novel Writing Month = 1,602 words and lots of fun playing with the writing software, Scrivener. I’ve had the software installed for a while now (she says like all tech. averse people who know it’s good for us, but don’t want to lose a week of our lives learning it.) I [...]

Day 1: Fresh Start
Day One: National Novel Writing Month, affectionately known as NaNoWriMo (until day 10 or so, when I’m not feeling as perky). Filed away editing project until Dec. 1? Check Cleared desk? Check Cleaned keyboard with Qtip? Check. I know, that’s verging on procrasination. Verging?! Fired up Scrivener (I’m a newbie) and knocked out 2,064 words? [...]

Eat? Drink? Sleep? Last day before NaNoWriMo!
Tomorrow begins 30 days (and nights) of writing for National Novel Writing Month www.nanowrimo.org Of course, it’s also Halloween, so I’ve got to get dressed up… I’ll take a photo, which may or may not ever see the light of day! And in addition to handing out candy, I’m trying to spend my last day [...]
