Show up!
This was once again a reminder for me. Show up!
You must show up for things that you want to do. You have to. If you want to do something but aren’t showing up to do it, then you are just dreaming.
Are you dreaming and not doing?
Do you realize that if you’re dreaming, you’re not taking action? Okay, yes, you probably know this on a “no duh” level, but do you understand it through and through? Do you get it way down deep in your gut? There is a difference. Many “change your life” books tell you to start living your dream to the extent that you can, so you can live “as if.” Well, if you’re not showing up, you’re not taking those steps to live as if you were already where you want to be.
More importantly, if you aren’t choosing to show up for the things you want to do, you are choosing something else. Are you really sure you think you want to be doing the things you believe you want to be doing? Really? Or are those other things in your life more important and more what you really want to be doing?
Showing up is the proof.

“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there. You must go beyond them.” — Bruce Lee
What are you seeing in your life today? Do you need a new way to look at things, a new perspective? Climbing up to the next level is rarely easy or fun, but if you don’t push your own limits, neither will anyone else. Like happiness, pushing your skills is something only you can do.
Do you want to know just how high you can fly? Do you want to know how good you can be? Or are you done, never daring to push on?
I can understand being tired, wanting to throw in the towel. But in the end, I know I can never stop being a creative person. It’s in my blood. I will always have to writing, or painting, or doodling, or whatever calls to my soul at any given moment even if I never share it with the world. I’m just thankful I live in a day and age where I can share my thoughts and ideas with you without the gatekeepers that use to be in place. So, when I really think about it, I hope I keep doing what I love until it’s my time to pass from this world into the next. May I never rest too long on a plateau. Let me keep learning and growing until my last heartbeat. With my last breath, may I whisper, “Thank you” to the world that supported me throughout. Even then, I hope my stories and artwork will live to inspire generations to come.
If I could see into the years beyond, that is what I would wish for.

Need a holiday gift idea?
The Jerome Music Boosters, an organization representing the Jerome High School music program, is selling a lamp made out of a real baritone saxophone. Look:
All money raised from selling this goes to the Jerome Music Boosters to help them with their fundraising efforts to get the kids (band and choir) to Disneyland – check out other things the band has done here. You can read more about it in the item description on eBay. Or, if you’d like to just help out the program, please feel free to contact me about making a charitable contribution (now is a great time to be thinking about your 2013 tax deductions — sorry, bookkeeping hat there!).
I’m glad I can be helping the Jerome Music Boosters out and sharing this item with you!
Happy holidays!

Make a Wish

3″x 3″ acrylic on wrapped canvas

Available (until sold) at http://www.zibbet.com/dawnblair
Everyone faces challenges of one sort or another. The highs and lows of life may erupt within a day. But you always have the ability to “make a wish.” You can always desire a change, prefer that things were different. But it doesn’t stop there. Action, movement, going forward needs to proceed the wish. If it doesn’t, you’ll remain stuck and wishing.
A key will only unlock the door if you turn it.

Veterans Day
This last summer I joined a group of writers, Idaho Authors’ Community, who were all interested in getting out there and marketing our books. In honor of Veterans Day, they are highlighting authors in their Etsy store. Please go and check out these books as well as all the others in the store.
This is a great way to get a book signed by the author. Special touches like that always make great, unique gifts.
Here’s the spotlighted authors:
Russell K. Hayes – Miracle Rugs
Daniel Eismann – Freedom is Your Destiny
Dean Muehlberg - REMF “War Stories” 17th CAG – Nha Trang, Vietnam – 1969
May you find your next favorite author out there!

It’s Monday. Where are you?
“Don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love & inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”~ Ella Fitzgerald
Even if you aren’t exactly where you want to be and doing what you want to be doing, it doesn’t mean you can put some effort into that very direction today. Every little step counts. Fifteen minutes at a time adds up. A step forward doesn’t count if you then stop to look around to see how far you’ve come. You’ve got to keep moving.
So, it’s another day. How far have you come today?
