Since today is the first day of Autumn, for those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere, I wanted to share a snippet of Danilynn’s love of Pumpkin Spice.
𝐔𝐒 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍, the first book in the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐨 𝐔𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, is coming early 2025.

The three of us catch up and reminisce about our days back in high school. Our order arrives and Travis is in awe of the size of our sandwiches. They are massive, which is something BagelWitch is known for. Not only are their baked goods the best in the area, so is their coffee. “Are you actually going to eat all of that? These sandwiches are huge and the size of that pumpkin spice muffin actually looks like a pumpkin. And that’s a large latte? It looks to be twice the size of the latte I get at the coffee shop that’s close to the school. I definitely need to take some muffins home for my parents and Olivia. They will be in pumpkin spice heaven." Keith and I just stare at each other and laugh. “Dude, you have no idea. She can easily down this breakfast. Every couple of months, my wife, Dani, and I meet for breakfast and she can out eat some of the guys I know. I don’t know where she puts it. Marisol is jealous because all she has to do is look at food and she gains weight. So she says anyway. I have never noticed. To me, she is the same beautiful woman I married twenty-four years ago. So Travis, what brings you to New York? I never thought in a million years I would see you here.” Travis looks at me not knowing how much he can really say without jeopardizing anything about the case. “Dani wasn’t returning my calls or texts so I decided to take a trip to make sure she was ok. And yes, she was pissed that I showed up at her office.” Keith looks between us and correctly assumes that there is more to the story. I’m only allowed to discuss what’s already been made public about the missing persons cases, which actually isn’t much. We are keeping a tight lid on what we release so that other jurisdictions can make any relevant connections. And he already knows this so he probably won’t ask too many questions. I then decide to fill in a couple of gaps so that he doesn’t have to worry about what he can and cannot say. “There might be a connection between the cases and some unsolicited texts to Travis from an unknown person. This has something to do with my past, so I tried to stay away. But his stubborn ass wouldn’t listen. And as you know, I can’t really talk about this case or anything related to it.” Keith nods his head in acknowledgment thus ending the conversation.
