Serve Our Troops
Through Sunday, October 18th – You can serve our troops right here at home. One of our own is serving overseas as an Army chaplain. Every day this young man stands on the truth to encourage military men and women in the life-and-death situations they face.
Now, let’s show these soldiers what the body of Christ can do!
Training Children to Care (TCTC), our ministry of families serving the Lord together as families, is gathering items to send to this beloved army chaplain and his troops!
Join us in praying for him, for these military men and women, and in gathering these much-needed supplies.
Drop them off at the Info Counter from now through October 18th, and TCTC will make sure they get to our men and women serving abroad!
Military items needed:
Ramen (considered a delicacy after weeks of meals-ready-to-eat, or MREs)
Instant oatmeal packs
Various soups
Tuna
Girl Scout (or any type) of packaged cookies
K-cups, sugar, creamer, sugar substitute
Granola bars
Disposable cups, bowls, plates, flatware
Microwave popcorn
Candy that doesn’t melt
Nuts
For more info on this outreach, email Carol Eskaros at carol@ccob.org.

Men’s Retreat 2015
Friday, October 9th – Sunday, October 11th
This year’s theme – The Final Act
Save the date! Men, join Pastor Bully Rutledge of Hatteras Island Christian Fellowship in North Carolina as he shares on The Final Act. We can be living in our final battle right now, and although we are outnumbered we can make a stand for the Lord in how we live out these last days. You won’t want to miss it!

Discipleship Home Groups
Beginning the week of September 28th! Study the Book of Acts!
Are you looking to develop closer relationships with other believers and the Lord?
Through Discipleship Home Groups, Calvary fulfills its mission to equip the saints for the ministry (Ephesians 4:12). In DHGs, you study the Word of God in a small group environment, learn Christian living principles, and build relationships with other believers who often become lifelong friends.
In the Fall, 2015 session (begins the week of September 28th), we will learn how God empowers us when we are yielded to the Holy Spirit as we study through Warren Wiersbe’s study on Acts.
There are no pre-requisites on the home group studies. Join at any time!
Visit the table in the foyer to sign up or for more info; online signup is also available. If you have questions or are interested in leading or hosting a Discipleship Home Group, email Don Snyder at inchrist@optonline.net.
